My son who was in the Army for 3.5 years came home after a 13 month tour in Afghanistan with PTSD and is now an alcoholic. He absolutely loves Star Trek and has built several models and owns all of the movies and tv episodes on dvd. I would very much like to purchase this one or make one with him exactly like yours. I hope your son is doing okay now, I know it's been 2 years. There are a lot of modelling videos on TH-cam I'd suggest, chief among them being PLASMO - plastic models. Some others include ChrisAndAlexModeling, qdc748a, Doogs' Models, Luke Towan, AlexModeling, Interstellar Modeler, Trekyards, Andy's Hobby Headquarters, Doctor Faust's Painting Clinic, Genessis Models, marklinofsweden and of course, Paul Budzik, who is the Bob Ross of modeling. Not all of their videos are relevant, but they each have their own tips and techniques that will help you and your son, especially Paul Budzik's. Some essential tools are Squadron sanding sticks, Flex-i-File for rounded fuselages and the like, as well as Squadron putty, Tamiya liquid surface primer (to seal the holes in the Squadron putty after it dries), as well as a range of automotive sandpapers up to 3000 grit. I hope this helps...
Just an additional post. I wish I could have one. But I don't think I would have the patience to build one. I did build one back in the 1980's. The kit didn't have the lights or offer a light kit. I did a nice job although didn't have the Aztec painting, so I used different shades of silver and painted the panels by hand one at a time. I lost it when I lost my house. I wish I still have it. Your work is beautiful, the details are spectacular. Thank you for showing how you made it.
Jason Ware the larger model. Is that NCC 1701 A, that you built from scratch? Just out if curiosity, has Paramount given you any feedback on either model? And one more thing; is the larger model in a museum? If it isn't, it should be!
Jason Ware how many offers have you had to buy it? because I'm thinking you could sell them like hot cakes. some of the comments that say this is art they are right and people will pay for a master piece. have you contacted a model company to try and sell it as a kit? you definitely set a standard thanks for sharing.
Just an emotional amazing work of art. The music and cinematic overlays hit a chord. From the start up sequence, the photon launcher, and the shuttle bay lights, God, what amazing work and skill.

Only so much to say about a 5 year old video, but pretty good aztecing on the saucer, masterful aztecing on the engineering hull, and I literally got goosebumps on the startup sequence. Holy cow!
I don`t usually leave a comment on the things that I watch, but I had to for this....I`m glad I`m not the only one to well up over the many set backs you endured on this project...But I was willing you on to the end...And what an end it was!
NoChoke ok give us an update it's been 2: yrs
Your attention to detail is over the top. I wish I could hire you to build me one. I don't have your skill level.
Thanks again everyone again for all the kind words. Please see my galaxyphoto website for more builds
Where is the link for your website dude....
In the video... (5:53)... dude...
Jason Ware the larger model. Is that NCC 1701 A, that you built from scratch? Just out if curiosity, has Paramount given you any feedback on either model? And one more thing; is the larger model in a museum? If it isn't, it should be!
Incredible work, it should be used in a movie or a fan made movie. It is time to rediscover the exploratory spirit of Star Trek
How can any hater give thumbs down really..Klingon haters for sure....Awesome
+bitukukuasukgremany3 Probably _Next Generation_ fans.
right
The most beautiful starship ever designed. Such a work of art. When I was a boy, I dreamed of being on this Enterprise.
Jason Ware how many offers have you had to buy it? because I'm thinking you could sell them like hot cakes. some of the comments that say this is art they are right and people will pay for a master piece. have you contacted a model company to try and sell it as a kit? you definitely set a standard thanks for sharing.
Just amazing....even the strobe on the bottom? Wow. And the shuttle bay is the best I’ve seen. Deck plating is amazing too. Well done. A+++++
5:00 How big is the monster sized one, and where does one get it?
I'd like to know too.
I think I found it. It's on this TH-cam channel. His other model is 6ft.
This beats CG any day when it comes to life-like detail. Great work!
you did an amazing job..!
Just an emotional amazing work of art. The music and cinematic overlays hit a chord. From the start up sequence, the photon launcher, and the shuttle bay lights, God, what amazing work and skill.
Absolutely Superb........
That is just gorgeous. That design of the Enterprise will always be the best of them all. Your attention to detail is amazing. Bravo!
Very nice. I love it.
But I need the real ship.
I noticed that your attention to detail is outstanding. I loved how the deflector dish turns colors going from off to fully functional. The running lights in the hanger deck were a testament to the detail that you put into this model that so many of us fans love. You should be recruited to help the Smithsonian people with the original Enterprise!
"treat her like a lady......."
"....and she'll always bring ya home" ;)
Only so much to say about a 5 year old video, but pretty good aztecing on the saucer, masterful aztecing on the engineering hull, and I literally got goosebumps on the startup sequence. Holy cow!
As someone who used to enjoy building model kits of Star Trek ships when I was younger this was so beautiful it made we want to cry!
My God ! there's a lot of stuff about modeling on TH-cam but this really tops a lot of it ! What mastery you have of this art !
I don`t usually leave a comment on the things that I watch, but I had to for this....I`m glad I`m not the only one to well up over the many set backs you endured on this project...But I was willing you on to the end...And what an end it was! A labour of love, for a ship that we all love...I salute you, Sir......Take us out!...Second star to the right...and straight on till morning :)
Some serious talent went into this. Stunning model of a stunning ship.
I've seen some impressive models on TH-cam, but nothing approaching this. Thanks for adding this beauty to the world.
This is with out a doubt the best non-movie model prop that have ever seen..
Love the STMP musical score...
THE BEST design period.
Either from official Star Trek designers or from fans.
I had the original model kit from when TOS was on, and I thought it was the shits because it had two grain-o-wheat lamps in it! This really takes me back. Nothing that followed had the pure magic that I felt watching TOS. Thanks for the memories!!! ♥
Movie magic and model makers always bring a great script and cast into our favorite movie. Star Trek, Star Wars, or all the thousands of films that we have seen.
Wow...there really are no words to express the beauty of this model and the exquisite detail..
🖖😎👍Very cool and a very spectacular wonderfully detailed model of the U.S.S. Enterprise inside and out and love all of the accurate lighting throughout the entire ship as well very awesome indeed!,👌.
What a breathtakingly stunning model.. it blow me away.. honestly... beautiful..
IF you don't work for a movie studio, you should. Excellent detail and workmanship!
having just a "like" button does not do this stunning piece of master craftsmanship justice.
There are no words... This actually made me cry.
Absolutely amazing. Love this version of the Enterprise. Just as good as the one used in the films.
