im so glad you did this i thought i was crazy for the longest time until i put my time into figuring out i knew i heard them before and playing them back to back to make sure
Early 00's metalcore was influenced by Death, Cynic and some other death/thrash bands from 80's style to get to that cadence and that type of riff is the most basic form of that rhythm
Could do one on Caliban and AILD Half of the songs on Caliban - An Undying Darkness are rips of half the songs on AILD - Shadows are Security, well, maybe not half, but a couple
Riffs and rhythms are patternized emotional expressions. Bands just try to capitalize those patterns in boxed fashion to repeat the same presentation over. Much of these patterns convey the same feeling though which carries over to many more bands. Some bands rip each other off but everything is derivative from something. Only ignorance buries all the original inspirations that amalgamates each piece presented as original when it's not. People's ignorance is what makes it original until the truth is unburied. Meaning the only way to uncover the truth is to dig. There's plenty of music in past generations too that get completely overlooked as if the style didn't exist previously. Pop culture is constantly burying itself with itself so that the current trend remains on top rather than the original roots. Imagine if Darth Vader became known solely for Fortnite and then (not saying it would because this is a huge stretch) star wars gets buried in time where only old people know about it and young people all preach Fortnite as the original source. Chord progressions and chromatic scale have been a thing for hundreds of years. It's ignorant people that will parrot "no, this popular song is the original so everything after it is just a copy," not realizing that what they're preaching is just another copy off someone else's work that they don't even know about. Now....just think about the Bible. People will preach King James Bible as the ultimate source.....when literally all of history is convoluted. It's all the same thing happening on a macro and microcosm.
Authenticity is the fact that you're the one playing. People will say "poser" all day but everyone is posing as a human after all whether they intend to or not lmao
5-7-8, the holy trinity of metalcore

Metalcore will always be my favorite genre of metal. All the riffs feel like you're going on a ride
