I wanted to cry after watching this. I am an African American, I have only been to South African, and will be going to Ghana in October. When I landed in South African I felt a peace and joy to be on the continent. This gentleman gave soooo much wisdom, I felt like I was seated right there with you Wode. So much damage has been done to us by people who hated us for being. They were jealous and spiteful of us being chosen by The Creator to be stewards of such a beautiful and great Continent. So now we must work harder to correct decades of deep damage to our minds and spirits so that we can function as we were intended...to become the stewards of Africa...The Creators Jewel!
I feel blessed to be a Diasporan Jamaican who long ago proudly embraced my African roots.
My first source of conscious reconnect was through the teachings of Marcus Garvey and the Rastafarian movement which was founded in Jamaica by Leonard ‘Gong’ Howell.
They were advocates for Africans in the Diaspora to reconnect with Home spiritually and physically long before many would even acknowledge their ancestry.
Garvey said “Africa for the Africans at home and abroad”.
One reason for the disconnect is the deliberate miseducation system of the West.
Schools and colleges in the West, for a long time, distorted the true history of Africa until African scholars like Cheikh Anta Diop reconnected us with our true history.
Now the age of technology is causing a major shift in knowledge as a new generation controls the narrative and dissemination of information around the globe.
We can tell the world who we are ourselves.

Odd that a visa is needed to go from Kinshasa to Brazzaville when you can easily drive between Belgium and France without even stopping at the border.

I think courses under the institute of African studies must be made core so that a revolutional mindset will be developed in the citizens. It must be a conscious effort and taken as our own responsibility. Evaluation and targets must also be set.

I would change the education system. I Believe even if there's bad governance but good educational system in the long run things will change. Not programmed education, but education which helps students think out the box

@Wode Maya, Powerful Interview with Simon Amegachie - Viglo of Ghana, should be liked and shared widely. Once there is a confluence of mind poor governance will be a thing of the past. The tenacity of the African scares the West who is safe causing conflict/unrest between brothers in order to subdue them, but the African youth watching is educated and does not need to go west to know what is their own or how they came to be in a bad situation; especially with modern technology, Change is imminent! Diaspora Africans are also realizing their ancestors knew no better than to agree to coniving proposals.
The Pan-African nature and instincts in Ghanaians is what makes us stand out... We have always had that burning desire to unite Africans and to advocate for our greater good

This was a good conversation. I listened to it three times, he is so right about the importance of knowing our history so that we can be confident in ourselves as Africans. Keep reading Maya. Unity is about sacrificing some of our own agenda items for the greater benefit of the whole. If a whole continent with 55 countries, 2000 languages and 1.5B people are going to unite we have to make the effort to be unified in our own homes with our spouse, family, community, country, people in our industries etc…let’s not blame the leaders alone.
and I think also this has to be done quietly away from the sight of those who represent the threat(s).

Majority of what we have been doing in Africa, is Copying and Pasting Western system and rather not creating our own systems, processes, procedures, rules, regualtions etc. The Westerner create systems etc, that is in their interest, we copy and paste someone else systems, that is not necessarily fitting to out needs and interest.

My daddy told me much about how President Kwame Nkrumah inspired them (Liberation struggle Africans) in 1958 at the Postive Action Conference to see a free and prosperous pan Africia! My mom also received a scholarship to study at the Government Secretarial Schools in Ghana, as a result she was the first black stenographer in Southern Africa..... Ttime to visit the birthplace of pan Africa
Great interview, sounds like good things will be happening even if a little bit at a time. I think these shows should be broadcast on a grand scale throughout. Everyone getting the same knowledge and education across the www directed towards Africans and African diaspora, would be powerful enough to say we're not hiding anymore. I am listening to the wisdom of Mr Viglo and every time I listen to someone like him who shares the hurtful history of our BEAUTIFUL AFRICA CONTINENT, I get very emotional because as Africans most of us know the truth and we know what to do bring this motherland to unity BUT our leaders fail this continent miserably 😢

Wode Maya, I’m excited to have watched this interview. It was just the other day I posted on your vlog about agriculture an unrelated question, I asked what was happening in South Sudan? This video Resonates with my feelings towards leadership in Africa. I’m in the US. I want to make it clear we love our brothers and sisters in Africa we were sold by our brothers as this wise man says. But I don’t believe we resent our mother land. I crave to learn more about Africa. I definitely want the book. I have no hate towards anyone but the Lord has open our eyes we see our Oppressor. Sad as this war is, they openly give to non NATO Ukraine, but turned their backs on our brothers and sisters from Haiti. If The image of our U.S border patrol running are people off while on horseback wasn’t unsettling enough, how about the hypocrisy now too urgently allow people of European decent fast track access to the States. We’re constantly reminded where we stand with US government, it’s time we come home and be apart of building a United States of Africa. I pray for those in leadership blessed with the knowledge. Hey Wode!! Very nice. In your latest vlog moments ago, you asked which of the vlogs you created did we as the subscribers like the most. For me this one. He essentially explained why white people become very angry at me when they are dining next or close to me in an Ethiopian restaurant. He essentially explained why virtually every person had a strong issue with me wearing my nice Ethiopian shirt, I bought there, during my travels cross country to and from Seattle to Philadelphia via Delta Airlines. As a black American I was confused once I got back from my first visit to Africa. But now I get it. I just hope and pray that I can hurry and further develop sustained resources powerful enough to combat the effects of colonialism. Very very nice Wode🤗🤗❤. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!

Wode Maya, they are extremely wicked and selfish. Nigeria is a case study. We voted massively for the current president hoping to get a better life. But we ended with worsening economy, too many criminality. I'm ashamed of being a citizen
