I have been in love with Jackson since 1980 when I was 13. His music has gotten me through some of the worst times in my life. I met him with my sister in 1994 backstage at the Concord Pavilion all I could say to him was will you marry me? He giggled and said he couldn't right then but how about a hug? It was magical!

Thanks Bruce for your wonderful speech, yeah sometimes Jackson just stands there singing his songs but so does Dylan, one of the all time greatest songwriters ever. The best music is pure escapism, just put Jackson's 1st 3 records on and your transported into his life and world. Sometimes that world just plain hurts, but truth through his emotions are worth it.
If you can handle all of the Grammarly ads, this is what's great about TH-cam. I got here by watching a slide guitar lesson. I watch a lot of Springsteen videos on TH-cam, so I presume their algorithms saw the connection between David Linley (slide guitar master and side man for Jackson Browne) and my affinity towards Springsteen's music, and recommended this video. I have seen Bruce's RRHOF induction of Jackson before, so I knew it was worth watching. What I didn't expect was realizing that I've totally missed out on Late For The Sky. Back in '74 when the album was released, I was a teenager too immature, and frankly too shallow, to enjoy Jackson's music. My earliest recollection of liking Jackson's music was the 1977 album Running on Empty, but I never bothered exploring his earlier music though or anything that wasn't regular radio fare. This was a time when it wasn't that easy to experience various types of music on a limited budget...again, I appreciate what TH-cam has to offer (aside from the ads). But I digress. I'm in my 60s now and am anxious to "slide" into Late For The Sky, along with Jackson's other early music that I skipped.

Thanks Bruce for your wonderful speech, yeah sometimes Jackson just stands there singing his songs but so does Dylan, one of the all time greatest songwriters ever. The best music is pure escapism, just put Jackson's 1st 3 records on and your transported into his life and world. Sometimes that world just plain hurts, but truth through his emotions are worth it.
If you can handle all of the Grammarly ads, this is what's great about TH-cam. I got here by watching a slide guitar lesson. I watch a lot of Springsteen videos on TH-cam, so I presume their algorithms saw the connection between David Linley (slide guitar master and side man for Jackson Browne) and my affinity towards Springsteen's music, and recommended this video.
I have seen Bruce's RRHOF induction of Jackson before, so I knew it was worth watching. What I didn't expect was realizing that I've totally missed out on Late For The Sky. Back in '74 when the album was released, I was a teenager too immature, and frankly too shallow, to enjoy Jackson's music. My earliest recollection of liking Jackson's music was the 1977 album Running on Empty, but I never bothered exploring his earlier music though or anything that wasn't regular radio fare. This was a time when it wasn't that easy to experience various types of music on a limited budget...again, I appreciate what TH-cam has to offer (aside from the ads).
But I digress. I'm in my 60s now and am anxious to "slide" into Late For The Sky, along with Jackson's other early music that I skipped.
I have a new admiration for Bruce Springsteen after watching this just now.

Jackson Browne was one of the greatest songwriters ever how he got the Eagles there start he wrote their first song basically the guy was fantastic
