    Great Video. I have an EGO 42inch mower and have been using the same as my former commercial zero turn mowers on both commercial and residential properties. I recommend the switch to lighter electric zero turn-you will be happy. Changing and sharpening blades is the same as gas powered units. The only concern I have had is I wish that ego would beef up the housing around the lower deck around the blades. With all of that power comes speed. If and when you hit concrete sidewalk that is sticking up with the deck at its lowest setting...the lower deck can be dented inward and stop the blade in its tracts. Re-bending the deck back out should be possible but is beyond my abilities. A replacement deck is $800 and a pain to replace. This type of injury would happen to an ICE mower just as easily with the lower deck at 1-1.5 cut height. The ego is just so powerful I routinely now cut my Zoysia and Bermuda at 1-1.5 inches. With this extra power comes the realization that ego should consider beefing up their lower decks strength so that as we cut lower now armed with more power those little surprises like concrete sidewalks hitting the lower deck won't cause the units lower deck to implode. I am actually now going to get a new 42inch for use exclusively on residential and repair the imploded 42inch and use it on commercial where it will get abused and likely implode again. The freedom from maintenance relatively lightweight of the ego zero turn has been very very welcomed and appreciated. Since I mow my yard 2-3 times per week I am certain that my neighbors enjoy the less noise coming from my yard work. I am a big fan of the ego. I have beat the crap out of mine and it has stood up. I just wish Ego would take it to the next level and beef up their lower deck housing. If and when you begin using the ego zero turn you will find yourself likely cutting lower and more frequently as the job just gets easier and your lawn begins looking like a putting green. When this happens you will find more stuff to hit with your lower deck....

    I have the 42" he is mowing at a lower speed. I had no trouble with 4ft grass, other than trying to get over top of it, but it cuts right through it & the blade speed auto adjusts in varying types of grass.

      The grass had been overgrown in the area for about 3 years. Just a bunch of thick grass/weeds
      All I can say is my toro riding mower prior would have struggled with it.

    Some people are super quick to disregard electric just because it's a newer industry. However i mowed a 2.5 acre field with about 2 foot grass on a standing zero turn and it struggled and seized the blades up so often i had to reverse and mow forward twice for it to cut decent.

    Looks good but, 10 gauge deck isn't all that heavy. My JD has 7 gauge deck. Until they are available at "REAL" dealers, lots of questions. Where do take it for warranty repairs? Will all the electronics hold up over the long haul or will it be a "Disposable" mower. I've got an EGO string trimmer and it works well, but prolonged use on a really hot day the thermal protector will shut it down til it cools off, then it will work again. Does this mower work they same way? I'm sure it works well, but a "Plastic" mower is not for me.

      @MachineryNation  ปีที่แล้ว

      Luckily here in the UK it is only supplied by independent dealers. I feel for you guys having to put up with a big box store to look after you. It is a high quality mower, but not commercial!

    That's not very long grass. My push mower would eat that grass for breakfast. Perhaps a more severe test would have been to cut that grass down to 1.5 - 2.0". I'm seriously looking at one of these, but I need more convincing to buy one. Nice upload. Thanks.

    Does it come with the six 12amp hr a batteries?
    Otherwise your looking at £3000 just for batteries.

    • @harry_le_r3775
      @harry_le_r3775 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello dear, That is (for me) the BIG problem, the Price of battery. I was looking for the Z6 Ego. 5000€ in France, and almost 3500€ of batterie. Total 8500€ for a "New" produt without a Real Feedback. I think (even if Ego have a lot o great great product) its too soon to buy this Big boy (or the Z6). Simple ego mowers yes but not more (my opinion).
      I see couples of gardeners in TH-cam have Bad experience with the battery and the commercial service, so... I really don't know.
      Its my opinion Even if im tired about the noise of petrol machine ...

    Hey guys, can I just clarify, is this currently available to buy in the UK?
    I went into our local mower shop today (here in Australia) and they had no idea about this one. I explained that I had seen it online and wanted to buy it and one of the guys mentioned he had seen the steering version online, but they didn't know about this 52 inch one.
    So just curious if you guys have it in shops already over there, or if they are just giving it to guys like yourselves to test out for now but won't be selling them till late 2023.
    Regards Ben

      @@danno180 yep in the US I know it's available.
      But it's not available yet in Australia, hence why I was asking about the UK, as I'm curious to see if they are exporting it anywhere else in the world yet or if they are holding off till later in the year to do it everywhere else.

    I see a mower deck raised up high and still leaving trace marks of uncut behind. As most of us know with big plots of land , you cut as LOW as you can so you dont have to come back and cut again by tomorrow morning. I have Ego trimmers and blowers and truly wouldnt trade them for gas. I just dont think they are quite to full blown commercial use just yet. Id say the 52" might perform quite well on an acre or less. Its gonna take at least another 5 years of R&D before im sold. Not saying I wont be sold, just saying not now by a longshot.

    How many acres does it really cut? My ego self propelled mower doesn’t cut anywhere near what it claims it should do. Maybe about half the amount.

    • @MachineryNation
      @MachineryNation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does make a massive difference on type of grass, moister, density and length of grass. It always means up so if it say 1 acre that up to but could be half that depending on the above 👍🏼

      I have the 52" EGO Z6 with 6 12Ah batteries. My home is on 2 acres of land with every inch covered in Zorshia grass. Relatively steep hills, not flat. I used the grass collector attachment and the high lift blades. I've cut my lawn several hundred times now and I've never had less than 60% battery left. Usually use 2/4 blade speed and standard 2/4 wheel speed. Based on my experience with the above, my Z6 would cut around 5 acres on a charge. I have absolutely loved it.

    If there good as they say they are, they should give six months warranty on them not only just 30th days.

    • @MachineryNation
      @MachineryNation  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I presume you mean a 30 day commercial warranty? As it’s a domestic mower for domestic use with a 5 year warranty. The fact they are willing to put a 30 day commercial warranty on it is quite the testament. Not many domestic products do that.
