I know I'm a bit of a broken record about this but I love this competition because the dancers in it, particularly Bobby, Sharon, and Nathan, prioritize quality movement and flow over "musicality." They're also obviously playing around, having fun, messing with each other, biting moves... it doesn't feel so intense as it does when gigs and reputation are all constantly on the line.
I think the push for musicality and the move from "solo Charleston" to "solo Jazz" has really killed a lot of the fun of these contests in the years since this one happened. I really appreciate you using your channel to share these clips with people Jamin. It's becoming a great one-stop shop for quality swing content.

Bugh is a true artist: highly skilled yet giving the impression of spontaneity and natural impulsion.
The others are pretty good, too.

This was fabulousogood!! I loved the interplay between Nathan and this Bobby guy (what is his last name?) - they kepy amping it up. The last move Bobby did across the floor - very cool!!

Have you seen this incredible solo jazz competition?

Yep. It's one of my favorite choices to show new dancers to see what solo contests can look like when the dancers in them throw down.

I had never seen this comp. Nathan was fantastic, …but while not as polished I liked Bobby even more as I felt he was the most original going beyond the std recycled Jazz moves and not just trying to one up someone else’s move.

This is so much over the top that i can't really enjoy it, also i hate fast music, i think there is also a blues solo video, maybe even same people. Also: "competions are for horses, not for artists".
