- Jax is our resident old timer of League and I'm honestly down with it. His sense of humor is so bad yet hiliarous at the same time. He's also undefeated in combat as far as I can tell. Who's gonna help him fight the void though? Let me hear your thoughts in the comments! This was a fun one.

In honor of a Make-A-Wish patient who visited Riot
Games, Jax will occasionally say " Here's to you, kid" to
honor his memory.
Jax was his favorite character, and Riot used the Jaximus skin to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Yess I forgot about this, "Bravest hero I knew was just a kid" hit right in the feels.
I still remember the day Jaximus got released. Even to this day the story behind that skin makes me tear up. And the fact they updated the voice line makes it even more sad.... Here is to you kid.

It teared me up when they made Mecha Kingdoms Jax, and added the voiceline: "kid, you are a true warrior"

24:31 that is correct, when updating a champion, skins have to also be fully updated as well, tho for some newer skins these would usually tend to get minor tweaks with older skins getting re-done from scratch
It is theorized that Jax is a Sand troll similar to Trundle in the North Freljord.
Also What makes Jax so awesome since he is the Grandmaster of Arms he mastered every weapon in the Icathia Kingdom.
And the reaso why he has a lamp post is to Carry the last light of Icathia that could harm the Void. (Also it is theorized that the Fire his is carrying in his Lamp staff is a fragment of Aurelion Sol's Flames aka Celestial Fiire but it's not confirmed)
Jax Fought against an Ascended god Warrior of Shurima and defeated it, meaining he is the only Mortal being that was able to kill a Ascended. That later turned into the Darkin. That is how powerful Jax is cause he mastered every weapon in the Kohari.
Does this confirm that Ascended are weaker than Celestials?
Like, it makes sense, since one is born from celestial magic, and the other is just empowered by it, but in that case Aatrox feat of killing Pantheon is even more impressive

The lore retcon mentioned at 40:40 references the universe-wide lore reboot that League of Legends received beginning in 2014! Prior to it, the world of League of Legends was tied to something called the Institute of War, which featured "Summoners" (you, us, the players) helping Champions fight things out to prevent large-scale conflicts. Jax in that universe was simply someone who was too good at using conventional weapons, so the Institute gave him a lamp post to use as his main weapon to make defeating him even half-way possible or fair.
It was rebooted and retconned because this format didn't allow the world to have agency of its own, and eventually we got Runeterra as it exists today.

All the Darkin have equipment... or rather, are equipment. If you equip them to random allies, Aatrox turns those allies into corresponding Darkin with his level up spell, it's pretty damn cool.
I really wish they would have gone with the League of Runeterra design for his update but still, a well deserved glow up ✨

So yeah the lesson is Kai sa don't dash towards enemies.
While Jax’s new lore is good and all, a part of me will always miss the old lore where he uses a lamp because he was to powerful whenever he was using an actual weapon
the new lore has been there for a while now
A reminder that the lamp post is only powerful against the void, pretty sure he doesn't even use the flame part against anyone, so partly this part of the lore is still true

1:02:40 Jax never met Kai'Sa in the Lore so that could happen in the near future at the start of the coming year we will get an Aatrox cinematic in which Jax might appear in right? Judging of this VGU for him (just my "theory")
Also in the description of the skin it always states if it is a unique event which led to the skin so it might be worth skimming through those. (Jaximus in this case)
