hailee steinfeld does some great work in this. I didn't even realize it was her voicing vi, I literally couldn't hear her, just the character, and that's indicative of good voice acting to me.
No joke I've been playing LOL for almost 8 years and I've never thought this is where riot would take their game. But I'm so happy they seem to be taking it seriously and that the show (so far) is amazing.
"I've never thought this is where riot would take their game". What do u mean? The community has been wanting them to do this for years, they finally listened lol
@@shadowx8145 yes I know the community wanted it but that doesn't mean that they would. Look at what blizzard did with that info. They had the chance to do the same thing as riot but they couldn't because they couldn't keep it in their pants.
@@shadowx8145 and I'm talking about 8 years ago when I started playing I never thought they would get this big, they have shows, events and all this other stuff.
This show proves that good video game movie adaptations are possible if made with love and care. This is the standard Riot set and I am a proud LoL fan.
@@HazyChestNutz I'd agree if you meant adapting gameplay to the show as well. But as a fan, League of Legends is more than just the base game. There's Lore from Legends of Runeterra, Tales of Runeterra, even Music Videos to account for. But that's me speaking as a fan. 😆
I hope so. Haven't seen it pop into the now trending yet and Netflix didn't put it in the recently addressed but hopefully word of mouth gets it more attention
considering the fact that Piltover is but one of several regions, each with their own roster of legends, makes me believe they could make this several seasons long with amazing crossovers.
Yup and also Riot has stated they are working on a MMO. So all of this stuff can tie into that and the lore they come up for that game can be used for future shows
I know LoL for a very long time and never played it either because its only available for PC and now it’s available for mobile called wild rift. I always liked playing moba and watching this series made me want to play the game
I love how you’re breaking down the character moments and speculating on the character journeys! It’s so well written, and I’m always a little sad from other reactions since they tend to be distracted from the game ties and Easter eggs rather than the story at hand.
No joke, if they manage to make an entire season for each very unique and epic region of Runeterra then this could become one of the best shows of all time.
I doubt they'd do that tbh. You have to think of it in terms of a commercial- storytelling symbiosis, when you think of it like that it seems clear they're gonna do a different series not season for each part of the world. As a cinematic universe you can't put all your eggs into one basket. They seem to be focusing on worlds rather than characters like marvel seem to do, it's a really fresh and interesting way to do it tbh. They can have S2, S3, S4 etc of Arcane which will have crossovers but still focus on Piltover and Zaun then they can have a Noxus/Demacia show and another one based on Ryze or something. Sorry for the wall of text.
We got galaxy creating dragons, ascended gods locked in a blood fued, a walking set of armor who became the literal master of death and a rat with a blowgun.
Honestly there are LOL fans who don't even play the game and they are just in it for the story and lore you honestly don't need to be familiar with the game to enjoy this show. Knowing some lore obviously would give an extra layer of insight but its not necessary.
That opening sequence was so hauntingly beautiful. Hooked from the first minute. I haven’t been this excited for a new weekly episode since WandaVision.
One of the biggest strengths this show has over other game adaptations is how it's just as easily accessible to someone who has zero knowledge to the game. Only other show that does this that I can think of is Castlevania. I honestly can't tell who has it better, the ones familier with the lore and game or the newcomers. Gotta admit though, as someone who has been reading up a lot on the lore, I'm a bit jealous of your point of view.
@@reno9821 the one thing the game does that’s good is teasing the story, there’s a lot of voice lines between characters that can give u insight about the lord and characters the lord doesn’t tell u which is amazing
The visual style of this show is beyond any animated movie or show that I've ever seen. it even blows Into the Spider-Verse clean out of the water. Let alone Pixar and all that other rubber-toy looking stuff that always looks the same. The designs of characters and environments, the colors, the lighting, the use of camera angles and of course the animation. Everything is a masterpiece and true next level stuff. On top of that the whole story, voice acting and music is awesome too. Perfection!
The fact many requested it is a testament on its quality, it's a show both veterans(Players/people who read the lore) and newbies(new players/basically has no idea about League of legends whatsoever) can appreciate and understand.
As a gamer and a fan of League of Legends, i was very impressed by the show. I binged all three episodes the night it dropped and absolutely loved it. I cant wait to see the rest of the series unfold. This show is epic
I'm not a gamer of League of Legend but my brother does, when he is watching this in the living room it caught me and the fam attention. This show's artstyle and story pacing is impressive. I am not an LoL player or fan, but 3 episodes in and this series is already in my top 10 favorite animated series. The art, animation, storytelling, music, and character development are all spot on.
Incredible show, the animation has big spider verse vibes and I genuinely didn’t see the ending of act 1 coming, and I love how they’re releasing it in 3 acts rather than all at once giving it a time to get hyped 👉🏼👈🏼
Finally a big channel reacted to it! Its surprising how this went under the radar from big reactors but I guess it has to do with it being a video game series, but damn are they missing out on a really good show on its own.
I think it's just yet to hit mainstream yet, it has a chance though, if it keeps producing similar quality, there will probably a lot of reactors by the time Act 3 comes out. Plus Netflix isn't really supporting the show too much, I haven't seen Arcane in the front page since it released despite being Top 3+ in leaderboards, I always have to manually search for it lmao.

The direction, story telling, animation, voice acting, music is beyond what I could expect from any series. The fact that it looks like an animation for Dishonored is another big plus. You can clearly tell they took heavy inspiration from The Dishonored series of games. Can't wait for the next 3 episodes.
Both voice actresses for Powder/Jinx Mia Sinclair Jenness(Child)and Ella Purnell(Teen) are relatively new to voice acting and knew very little about "League of Legends" outside of what family and friends told them but fell in love with the script and animation for this show .
By far the best post-reaction discussion of this show i've seen yet. Also, tbh, people are putting too much weight on having played the game already. Always thought that LoL had some beautiful looking cinematic trailers, awesome to see that their actual animated series looks equally great if not full on better
Thanks for the reaction, I don't play the game but I was excited for this and so far, the series is amazing and it's so good, highly recommend
I was so worried abit about the series since they hyped it alot and I MEAN ALOT. The best part of it is that Arcane actually lived up to it and it beating squid game as well actually swept me away.
I got hooked on this series so fast. Good stuff guys.
I was not going to watch this but only 3 minutes into your reaction video has me hooked!!! Gotta go log on to Netflix. I’ll be back…🏃🏽♀️

Can't wait to see you guys on the Rift!!
The art style is very reminiscent of Into the Spider-verse, but with a more cinematic eye as opposed to a comic book feel.
