I am not ashamed to admit this, but even after all these years, every time I run up a flight of stairs in a hurry, this song pops into my head... I sometimes even stretch my arms to one side like Con Smith.
I was in this building that had like 10 flights of stairs and just had to put this song on and walk up it similar to how the characters did it. Thank god nobody was on the stairs and saw me. I'd still do it again if I get another chance though.
"You've changed considerably... into a BADASS if I may!" "Shit... FUCK it..." "Ahhhh, Garcian... How long has it been?" Best lines from any videogame, and they can all be used in real life (just switch names around). Also, imitating Harmans' voice is fun as Hell.
Vinculum Gate in Killer7 is exactly like the dueling arena in Revolutionary Girl Utena. Think, bizarre interdimensional passageways towards boss fights- both of which are mysterious, bizarre and left-unexplained - ritual of walking through passageway every level/episode with main theme playing in background(Rave On and Absolute Destiny Apocalypse). General mindfuck nature of both of them is really similar too, Killer7's just a lot darker.
@@buccher6133 Civvie 11 was the one that bought the game to my attention. Even he didn't give it a fair chance at first and he's suffered through some weird shit like a Slav jank source port of Hexxen. I heard he might pick up Killer 7 at some point
After some of those terrobly difficult fights, at least with my controllers thumbstick i couldnt aim for shit. I was thinking "Im literally only doing this for the staircase music"
AH!!! I LOVE IT It was the WHOLE reason for collecting soul shells, just to hear this song. You know whats creepy, going into the room with KAEDE and use her scope to get a close up of the Gatekeepers face...hes so CREEPY *raves*
I'm glad to see I'm not the only gamer to love this title. GOD... The hours I poured into this game. Bought it 3 times... Twice on GC, once on PS2.... Think I may go buy a PS2 after i'm done moving to play this again
I used to reload repeatedly along with the song at that place in the game. Actually... it's been a few years since I played it, so after work tonight I'm starting a new file.
I had to actually look this music up since most of the time I heard it in the main game, I only ever got to hear the song for about 7 seconds. I didn't realize it went on for four and a half minutes.
I see your point Chris, but doesnt it feel better that its not mainstream? Like you can ask someone about Suda51 and they would be like "who!" Its like a hidden gem that only you know about. Alot of people dont understand this game and really dont get it, you know what a mean. Just feels good to be in the minority sometimes and you see its true brilliance when others cant.
@SkellionPowalskiz I loved Kick-Ass A LOT. It was fun, it was suspenseful, it was sad, it was dramatic and it was cool, all at the same time. I've never quite seen anything like that in a super hero movie before, or an action movie for that matter. It also had Nicolas Cage being batshit insane as usual. Can't wait for the sequel.
"I feel my blood rushing through my body. Yes, this is it, the feeling, it's coming back to me! The sensation of killing! The doom and darkness... The dark streets, they're calling me. Calling me to the ultimate ring!"
If for some magic reason that the Smith Syndicate (as one character) gets into Marvel vs Capcom, this will be their theme. I can imagine it now. Imagine how awesome it would be to combo between the different Smiths.
This would be an awesome cellphone ringtone. Not overly pretentious as a gamer cred ringtone, as only people who have played Killer 7 would recognize it.
That's what Goichi Suda was aiming for, to break common paradigms, and to give a slight sense of restriction. I mean, what other game has EXPLODING SMILING INVISIBLE enemies? Whose blood you collect to earn power-ups?
You know Suda has a funny sense of humour when he puts the catchiest song in the entire soundtrack in a stairwell that you spend half a second in.
He seems to have done this a lot, with the catchiest songs in his games being placed in areas you barely spend any time in
I spent hours in there
@@legend7951not directed by Suda, but the map screen in No More Heroes 2 had the same thing. Best track in that game.

If Snake Eater is about ladders, this theme is about stairs...
I love this part of smt 2
Please leave Neuters
I do too.
Wtf is smt2
RictalEye shin megami tensei 2
Brūsti Sprinkler neutral baby.
Killer 7 remastered apparently confirmed for steam, and this music is what instantly came to my mind.
The reason the stairwell music is so serious is because you’re actually in a wheelchair the whole time. It’s a boss fight in your suppressed memories.
Harman, the world won't change. It just keeps on turning.
"Now....let's dance." >:3
That sentence is so depressing...
"We're in a tight spot!"
A real tight spot.
Like, tightier than tight.
So tight it's not even funny!
Tight and out of sight!
The tightest of them all!
"Master. Ew! Major grossness. I just can't take it on a physiological level. I can't stand afros."
Ironic, considering you never hear this song in Cloudman.

Why are we not best friends?
Because this reality can't handle that level of awesomeness.

Whenever I do a playthrough of Killer7, I stay in the boss hallways absurdly long periods of time just to hear this song over and over.
Well, fiftieth time re-listening to it. It sounds like I have a problem, and the solution is to listen to it again.
+Takaithepanda Listen! I got a fever...and the only prescription...is more Rave On!
This game was a massive WTF in the best possible way
I swear this game is hella underrated, needs more games like this
Cruelty Squad is pretty good. It's like Goldeneye made by someone having an existential crisis because they're colorblind
@@solblackguy so me.
@@solblackguy I'm happy that I'm not the only one who find Cruelty Squad and K7 kinda similar

You all know you had to groove to this on the staircase
Hell yeah
Ever since I beat this game on PC I use this song to hype myself up for my exams
when i first got to this part on Killer7, I thought there was a sweet party behind the veniculum gate XD
@InternetLad I think Suda wanted to make a corridor that nobody'd want to leave
I stayed in the room for hours, listening to this track.
Definitely one of the better tracks I've heard in my days. Thanks for the submission, it helps us students unwind a bit more happily...
Secret about women? There all the same!!! *BANG*
Is that in-game? Lol
"You can't fool me, old man."
Man, I just got my copy of Killer7 back. Finally, now I can stay in the same room for 30 mins just to hear this song!
One of my best games ever.Theres just something about it..as well as the best stairs music you have ever heard.
One of the best games ever made
I remember just stopping in the middle of gameplay to dance to this.
good choice.
definitely has the best cut scenes and plot I've ever seen in a video game.
Gotta love them stairs, that optical illusion is grand. One of the reasons why its good to not have full control of your character.
I never played this game. I just watched a friend play it for a few minutes. Years later... here I am. Still listening.
Nathaniel Sticco Have you played it yet?
I have the game in my gamecube and i love this song
You're meant to spend all the time in that hallway listening to this.
i never wanted to leave this room every time i got to the top of the stairs...
You dont get many games like this classic. A remaster i doubt will happen. But one of my most craziest games i own .thankyou Suda 51 😊
This game easily makes my top ten most loved games ^^
My ringtone.
been playin the game on GC recently, and i'm ever so hooked to this song.the vid is a nice substitute till i get my hands on the OST,thanks

rareroe305 Oh, I thought you were talking about the game...
"You're fucked!"
Hurts doesn't it?
I spent hours in that hallway just listening to this song.
It still feels like it is 2007 and I'm playing it on ps2
This is a tight spot. Major tight spot.
first time i get in the room i didnt want to go off music is just GREAT FREKIN AWESOME
Probably the most ''normal'' piece of music in this entire mind screw of a game.
one of capcoms highlights in gaming. this is a game that will be forever tattooed in the mines of all capcom players!
Happy Birthday Killer 7!

It's nothing like No More Heroes but you should get it because it's one of the best games ever made.
@wielderofdrumstix The room that this song plays in is basically just a short corridor with stairs.
One of the best games ever.
Why can't this song be anywhere other than the non-epic stairs? I'm just going to start playing with this blaring into my headphones.
