"Ok now remember, this song will only play very briefly about once per level. When characers have reached the entrance to the boss' lair, they will travel there through a gate that looks the same every time. They will hear this song, muffled, when being greeted by the gate attendant. If they have retrieved all the keys they need to advance, they'll be let through, and this song will play as they descend a stairway that looks exactly the same on every level, and that they can traverse in like 10 seconds if they keep a move on. It's just a framing device to create repetition and a sense of stylish foreboding. This song isn't a big deal and doesn't need to go that hard." Masafumi Takada: "I'm a professional. You can't fool me, old man."
I remember the first time I played it I did so solely on the recommendation of a friend knowing nothing about it, and once I started it I had to message him to ask him what the fuck he was trying to get me to play LOL.
I can’t believe this is an actual “other room” version of the song. It’s so sick, it’s really the only thing that could’ve made the original track better.
First time I visited that checker floored room in Vinculum Gate, I heard this and wondered what a sike party must be behind those doors, especially with the guy behind counter having those clothes and hair. But..a nice old stairwell merely heh.
@@Lainbowie I swear, just as Kojima was inspired by films like Escape from new york, full metal jacket and science writing like neuromancer(otacon bears a strong resemblance to William Gibson, when he was a young man) and those short stories by Phillip K. And then in no more heroes, there's a lot of profane language and lightsabres and references to star wars and other films and Travis wants to be a hero by his "own standards." The movie Jay and silent bob contains a lot of f bombs and innuendos and also profane language and references to star wars and there's even a lightsabre duel. And references to movies owned by miramax. @@Lainbowie That's nuts! I totally thought it was some promo wallpaper from the mid-00s cuz it's the right aspect ratio and it's got that old school vibe. Feels like something that would be on the downloads section of an old official Killer7 preview website or something.
@@MarikoRawralton Thank you! I took a lot of inspiration from the Japanese killer7 Gamecube box art. I think the reason for the weird resolution/aspect ratio is that I just stuck with the same dimensions from the unaltered Angel screenshot that I used.

maybe there is a party, and you're just going through it when going from the stairs to the Vinculum Gate.
Thumbs up if you spent time dancing in the stairwell!!!!
Con did a lot of sliding and Kevin did a lot of backflips (Y)
Ohhh yeahhh.
