The cam ledge is not the cam bearing you checked. It's the larger diameter area where the seals sit. When that wears oil pressure is lost along with vanos control.
thanks for the kind words! 🙏 it's always about taking baby-steps getting tools as they get pricy fast. I can't count how many projects I've started then realised I needed something unique or special - you'll get there for sure, I don't doubt it!
mine sounded like it was open headers the waste gate rattle or its a rod rattle. trans was acting off first. i put it in neutral engine was smooth and fine low reving, but my limp mode activated then it fuel starved then i think th hpfp may have popped like a bottle of cola.
Like I appreciate you having to endure this and to us buyers. I understand completely, I'm waiting for service advisor to diagnose and get me some facts, but a new engine replacement isn't too bad on this right? our wallets are fine. I put 200k miles on a mazda 3 compared to these pieces that car was a real hero.
oh man, did you ever confirm what happened? I'd try to take it back and hold the shop accountable. swapping these engines isn't too bad, they're not overly expensive either. they're good cars, sometimes good people have bad luck. 😥
@@tony.nextlevelrides yes it seized I got the car back and I got a new 6bolt engine. It hasn’t arrived yet. But I got the engine pulled already. I pulled the engine before testing the injectors but idk if it would work while seized. I think they’re index 10. Im going to try and work out all the issues. My intake valve are actually clean and have a just bronze color from oil stain but I pulled magnetic shavings from the filter housing and intake valves with a magnet. I’m tearing the engine apart this weekend.
These videos are so well put together. Amazing work
