AND CLARK! Thank YOU for your service to this Great Nation of ours. 🇺🇲 C-17s hold a dear place in my heart, as it brought my injured husband (and so many more injured heroes) to safety in Germany from Iraq in 2007. Seeing that beautiful big bird brings tears to my eyes. Again, thank YOU for your service.
Cancelled my cable and land line. Bought a digital antenna. Get 50+ channels. Get seasonal NESN. And single stream Netflix. Saved $130 a month. Should have done years ago.
We saved 20% of our incomes for years, things got a little tight due to job changes and we dropped back to 5% for a while, we noticed pretty quickly that extra 15% was not making much difference to our finances, and we started back saving 20% ASAP and haven't looked back!
17:21 - Re: Streaming Pay Services - As a "seasoned citizen" baby boomer I'm actually shocked that folks pay for streaming of "original series" and typical TV shows/movies in the first place because of what I'm watching this video on right now on my desktop monitor - FREE TH-cam. I watch youtube 90% of the time because 1. I can find GREAT educational content (like Clark Howard) on any topic I want in 5 seconds. 2. Videos of 60s and 70s rock bands that were not available back then when I could only listen to the AM/FM radio to hear the songs. 3. The content will be typically less than 30 minutes and 4. Even a lot of live sports and movies for free or less than $5.00. On top of that I stay at Marriott properties 90% of the time and they have free TH-cam channel as one of the selections on the hotel TV screen (Channel 17). Thanks for all your great content and advice Clark!
👀 What an eye-opener, knowing that much of the world saves 1/3 of their income. I just did the math for me. Yikes! For years, I've encouraged my 18 and 22 yr. old grandsons to open Roth IRAs. A gift, indeed. Thanks, Team Clark!
As I sit here eating breakfast and it’s 31 degrees out I have a video of a roaring fireplace playing on my big screen TV. I searched Utube for fireplaces and found many. I do the same thing with fish aquariums when I want to relax while watching fish. I have enjoyed various fall settings showing the beautiful tree colors . 8:52 I get it all for free w few ads🙂
I had a friend that took a 3 month contract job operating a small utility plant for an R&D facility in Antarctica, he said it wasn't bad at all, good food and sleeping quarters etc. although he didn't go outside or see the light of day during the 3 month assignment (he wasn't exposed to the cold conditions outside the facility)
Clark an antenna can not get you 4K. The new standard ATSC 3.0 is rolling out slowly but any TV station that has adopted it is still not broadcasting in 4K. Add to that your TV must have a ATSC 3.0 capable tuner, which TV manufacturers are just starting to add. You can purchase a separate tuner that you can connect to your antenna and then your TV. The major networks are DRM encrypting their current 3.0 signals effectively denying any viewer access.

I keep a list of shows I want to stream. I wait until the entire season is available, then subscribe to the streaming channel. I then binge watch all the episodes and cancel the service. I save lots of money doing that.
What upsets me is that many of these paid streaming services that change a monthly fee, will charge extra for a lot of movies or series, or, you have to get the premium subscription. I refuse to do that because they're just greedy.
For those in the market for a new Toyota, I highly recommend Earl Stewart Toyota in West Palm Beach, Florida. Earl Stewart sells his cars at MSRP and does not charge a dealer fee.
Perhaps you can do a much better in depth video on the options of free TV because the little bit you did here was rather confusing and obviously reading the comments. This is a big big thing to people around the country. That would be helpful thank you.
Personal finance education is very important. Adults get into so much debt, making it a terrible way to learn about debt and savings. This education should start early.
My biggest issue with Google Fi is that they won’t let you mix and match plan tiers on a family plan. If they did then Google Fi would be a good deal cost-wise year-round, not just when traveling overseas.
As I could not survive on my poor retirement paycheck within the US I have resettled to Russia several years ago looking for cheaper place to retire. However several months ago payments have been stopped. When I requested the Embassy in Warsaw, Poland, which manages the transactions they replied that because Central Bank of Russia has been sanctioned therefore payments became impossible. I know that Russia supplies the US with titanium along with some other materials and of course those shipments have always been paid. It means payments still possible when authorities want it. Moreover each Embassy has cashier desk where I could come getting cash. It is what I proposed in my communications with the Embassy, but they did not reply anymore. Neither Social Security nor Embassy in Moscow wanted to have any business with me. I am to old and weak to resettle again. They also defrauded me on three Economic Impact Payments that I was illegible for. I wrote to Biden in White House with no result of course. This is how the US government treats its own citizens. I can only go to the street begging in a foreign country. Judge yourself. The US is a country of fraudsters. Watch out the US.

You forgot to mention the ultimate content streamer, TH-cam. I've gotten used to clicking on the "Skip ads" button, so I am not really tempted to pay the $12 per month to be ad-free on TH-cam. However, there are no Skip Ads buttons on traditional streamers, and I find shows to be unwatchable when they are interrupted every 5 to7 minutes with 90 seconds of ads. My solution so far; pay the ad-free rates, search for streaming deals and free-trial periods. As far as MLB baseball is concerned, that is a big problem. I have a solution that is only costing me $10 per month, but I doubt Clark would approve.

Yes. Search 'Countries that save the most money'. Some are 2x the savings % that Clark mentioned.
There is a lot of truth to this. In America, people think they must have a car, which soaks up about one-third of their income.
