    I was all in until i clicked on the links and saw the price. I expected around $300 (ive never dealt with any baja lights or anything so excuse my ignorance.) But when i saw $800+ for bracket and lights i was out. It looks badass for sure though. And your video was fantastic. I feel like i could do this install flawlessly with your guidance!

  • @stephenbeale9520

    This is awesome looking. Just curious on why not get a factory style plug and wire it up to connect to the factory harness for the cargo and break lights? The install would have been a little cleaner on that portion of it. Great explanation of how to do this.

    Got this same 3rd brake light for my 2021 ram 1500 and it was terrible i grinded down the lights and nothing fits i grinded down both sides of the lights and still nothing !!!! not only that but the hardware mount holes were too small and i had to drill out all holes a bit bigger ! after grinding down the bezel from the BD they still didnt fit in at all either !! im super disappointed with the evil man. 3rd brake light especially for the price

      A better cover is the undercover armor flex the panels are line x at the factory and it doesn’t stick up as high. I sell and install these covers on a daily basis and the undercover has a better water management system. The MX4 rests against the cab when folded open the only truck we recommend that for is the new GM’s or any truck with a camera in the third brake light. We sell the undercover ultra flex or armor flex at least 15 to 1 if not more.

  • @Twin-Kyle

    The 5th gen RAM cab is the same as the 4 gen cab. Due to water leak issues, FCA added the two center screws for the 3ed brake light to correct those water leak issues. Factory procedure when installing the 3ed brake light is to install the center screws first then the outer screws. Removing those screws will result in a water leak which will damage the headliner. I would recommend NOT to do this mod.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This bracket is metal compared to the factory plastic so there is no deflection. The center screws are not needed.

  • @djkritical9606

    Dumb question... Doesn't Evil Manufacturing have a recommended light that would fit their housing??? They should have a light that fits their housing that would fit your specific vehicle?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The brackets are built specifically for the Baja Design S2’s. The modifications I had to make to the brackets were outlandish. I expected it given the small amount of space available in the opening.

    • @billybaloneey7635
      @billybaloneey7635 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the bracket is designed for S2 lights, I don't understand why the Evil Manuf bracket would require modification of S2 lights...and I would bet money that the lights would not be covered under warranty for that modification.

    Very thorough video... however you repeated the same things over and over and over again (and then on more time at the end with the recap)... it added about 35% more time to the video... I found myself skipping through all the recaps. Also not sure but did this unit have a "Lens" cover over i once installed or simply the painted metal with the exposed LED's?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Believe it or not repetition helps with knowledge retention. I purposely repeat myself so viewers can follow along and can keep track of their work progress.
      I’d rather my how to’s provide too much info than not enough.
      One other thing you can do it put the video on 1.5x or 2x when playing it.
      Not sure what unit you are referring to. The S2 pods each have their own lenses. The LEDs that are preinstalled into the brackets each have a concave lens. There are no exposed LEDs.

    • @1967mdavis
      @1967mdavis 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@WaterFowler41 I get it on the repetition... longer videos monetize better too I think so that's a win-win for everyone. I wasn't really meaning to sound like an ass, just was offering a suggestion with a grain of salt was all. Regarding the lens cover I as unfamiliar with the product and didnt know if that unit came with a "lens of some type" but I see b looking at it on the mfg website that tis does not. thanks for the info. It was great video and very thorough. Thank you.
