Clicked here to watch a quirky video about GW2 cosmetic gem store items, I left with a master degree in fashion design. Amazing video mate!

Wait, so I am NOT supposed to look like the brightest, most radioactive plastic toy in the room, with gigantic tasteless wings, and particle effects so cluttery and mismatched that may as well spell "Hi I am whale"?
Lmao
Yes, you’re right! Don’t listen to what that YT says!)
Look out it's the fun police
Woah dude, you're so right. Other people shouldn't be able to enjoy the game in their own way! Never thought of that! Here's your sign.
I agree, I think that style is cringe af.
"Why would anyone like to look as an onion?"
Me: Sylvari...
me on my way to join nightmare court to visit both of you in your dreams and and build a nightmare castle in it
Best video on how to do fashion wars the right way. Useful and straight to the point!
I literally watched this video start to finish. It is so rare to find a unique video on TH-cam about Gw2 nowadays. Everything is overly saturated. This is very very helpful. Thank you. Keep up the great content! 5:12 aha.... ha.
I agree. I want to find a fun gw2 video and all i see is endless guides for something or pvp
When I started the video, I immediately thought, "Finally, someone who understands how this works!"
Great video, thank you so much for this quality :)
Quality of shape(silhouette) , colors, material, authenticity

Very informative and high quality video, loved the references and explanations and the little funny bits and comments splashed in between! As the biggest Fashion Community in GW2 we dearly thank you for this guide!🥰🥰
Thank you! Looking forward to the halloween fashion contest!
This is actually one of the most informative videos for an mmorpg I've seen. Also you made me wanna try GW2 again lol.
Nice guide.
I am big asura fan... 99% of characters are asura and those boys are really tough ones if it goes for the fashion due to their proportions and bad layers between some armor pieces. But if you get it right... damn boi!
I love the little moments that gave me a nice chuckle. The bathwater girl and the "but" butt frame in particular.

My favourite is the cute witch in blue :D Very aesthetically pleasing footage, love it!
Fashion... The true Endgame for guild wars 2.
Personally, I prefer the "less is more" look.
Really appreciate this video!
Thank you for making this video. I'm a player that puts a lot of emphasis on how my character looks and this has really helped me!!!
1. Material - Is it metal, leather, or cloth or wool. 2.Quality of shapes - Number of polygons. 3. Colors - Neon green metal? (U do U). 4. Authentic - Fantasy is often based on reality, be careful about over doing it. ~ Sigma.4329 (Sigma O Mega)
Dang unironically saving this video to rewatch it whenever I feel like dyeing. Too bad I suck ass not even with a million guide I'd be able to make it look half as good.
Best gw2 content Ive watched in 10 years, please keep your videos coming amazing work man
Great video. I enjoy the more toned down and down to earth characters a lot more than the obnoxious balls of light brimming with particle effects. They're so much more aesthetically pleasing.
This is a great video. I've been trying to look into fashion for awhile but it kinda all just flies over my head this was very well explained. And better than the answer of "Just look at other fashion you like and you'll learn fashion" I wish there was more easy well explained information out there i'm sure there is but I've had trouble finding it.
Really helpful. Very few people actually have good designs, I mostly just see human females everywhere with the least clothing possible and they call it fashion lol
I agree except for the last part. I don't think they even care to pretend it's fashion, they just call it eye candy lol
@@amyt2035 you might be right 🤣😳
Thank you for blasting your lovely voice into my feet. Love the vid - so well thought out and I learnt a few tricks :)
Amazing looking gear! Recently came back to the game for another go (played since 2012) and you inspired me to finish my warrior and fashion him up
Very very good and helpful video, especially helpful for dyes and materials!
Personally I enjoy having a few characters that look colourful and fun looking, but I just as much value realistic and immersive looking characters and outfits, especially when it comes to the ones i play through the story with. Maybe that’s why I enjoy creating Sylvari so much, because I can get away with making them look colourful while still fitting into the canon! (and i, as much as everyone else here, am an avid infusion overload hater. we get it, you have money. i cannot see.)
The little dye guide you provided is also extremely helpful! Charred dye is probably my favourite one in game and I definitely overuse it so it’s great to be shown some alternatives!
Absolutely adore your Fashion Wars, your characters look great :)
It's important to remember that this is a fantasy game, not some historical medieval game. It's a world filled with magic, so auras, bright colors, and effects do makes sense. Unfortunately, most people don't know how to do it thematically or tastefully, so they end up looking like a rave party light show or a child's preschool art project. When done well, infusions, brightly colored dyes, and particle effects can look really good.
is it just me, or I hear Angel Touch by Cindy as bgm? Anyway, great video! That is quite entertaining!
Thank you! You are right :) love it!
I mean, there's some fun in having the most shiny cluster heck of a character. It's not the best looking, but more for the meme (insert the multibox charr player who lines up their alts in lion's arch during holidays and events)
1. Define the material
2. Quality of the shapes
3. Authenticity
4. Proper Colors

Great video (and channel)! I’ve definitely been looking for this type of GW2 content, so consider myself subscribed.
That's quite helpful. Off to the game to see what I can do to improve a few of my fashionistas!
1. Material type. To understand how to dye it properly
2. Quality of Shapes/ More polygons = better detail
3. Authenticity. The more grounded in the real world the better it will look
4. Color. Avoid colors that remove the materials detail and create a lambert effect

Great video sir!
I would really appreciate more wardrobe theme videos! 😀 I love the amount of possible gear customization in GW2 and i spend a "not small" portion of ingame time by mixing and matching of newly discovered pieces together 🙂 My new top favorite is a mesmer mirage. To fit heavy looking armor on her was quite a achievement without outfits (which i use temporarily before the new look is finished).
PS: The video about graphical settings and possibilities is great too, you have a new subscriber 🙂
Amazing video bro , maybe u can show some examples with wich clothes u have and wich color . I Love the way how u style the character
As a former WoW and FF14 player, I find so many of the fashions in GW2 ridiculous. There definitely is a flavor to fashion in this game that feels monotonous and uninspired a lot of the time. When designing my female charr warrior's outfit, I tried to make her look as much as a badass charr inspired by charr culture as possible, instead of using bright-as-the-sun purple wings or something ridiculous.
It's nice to see someone else who has a lot of the same views on GW2 armor as I do.
Great video! I would greatly enjoy a video purely showing good dyes for each material, and more armor pieces that are nice in each tier.
Praise! And rip to every players trying to do medium armor fashion, this shit SUCKS. Light armor got lucky with PoF+ release because a lot of good skin got release who are more than a skirt and a some frills.
I whish more boots existed tho, really hard to find good shoes for my elem...
One thing that always annoy the hell out of me in mmos is that there is so few good looking normal sets or armor parts too many developers are afraid to add more plain gear that would work in real life.
It's so hard to make gear look good when most of it always has large flagpole sized spikes or lights that could call Batman on the sight.
I can't count how many times I've seen people use the same exact dye on ever single armor piece while every single armor skin they use have different materials and it looks horrid 😩 Do people really need special eyes to see it looks bad? 😔
This is honestly great, I’ve been trying to use the Rubicon coat, shoulder scarf, and gas mask for a human scrapper but I didn't know what colors might work until now so thank you! Would you consider doing some follow up videos going into more depth for heavy and medium armor? I feel like those are the most difficult to work with, especially the heavy armor legs.
For me, it's pants for light armor female human!! Everything has a skirt, it's so annoying!
There's so little to choose from if you want an engineer look. Especially on a charr
very nice video mate , i will defintly try some of those combinations
This is excellent advice. Liked and subbed.
I tend to stick to one accent shade with neutral colors for the bulk. For instance; my warrior uses mostly metal armor. Since he's human I gave him the seraph breastplate paired with carapace leggings. The metal I used steel and iron dyes but for the tabard and cloth trim on the legging tails I went with shades of dark red to stand out against the grey metal. Engineer I used magitech and aetherblade with the metal parts being silver and bronze against brown leathers and a couple dirty white cloth pieces.
Really good and well thought out video! This will help a lot of fashionistas to improve for sure :) and thanks again for letting us be in your video!
Thank you for participating :)!
Can you tell me what the armor pieces at 8:25 are? They look amazing.
Great video.
I find can easily spend hours, I mean many(!) hours messing around with armor/clothing pieces and colors in gw2 trying to put a look together.
I've got a lot of alts some of which just exist for setting up a look, whereas some alts I made just to fill a role in-game and these I often find challenging to create a look for, heh.
Sometimes I just cheat and wear an Outfit.
im sorry but no one said anything about the belle delphine moment??? lololololol
so interressant approach I like it a lot coz I enjoy asking myself those questions too, too much people are skipping that, NOT ENOUGH PPL WATCH UR CHANNEL, GET INSTRUCTED GUYS
this influences me kinda. thanks for making it. it made me think if nothing less.
4:34 It's this a Mannfred von Carstein cosplay? Looks amazing!
PD: Ok, it was. I didn't watch the entire video yet lol That's a cool outfit, my Warhammer Fantasy Enjoyer 😎 Also, as a spaniard boy, I love that Conquistador-like outfit you have. If I still played this game I would use it for my warrior character.
Quality of shapes, colors, material, authenticity
Great video! Thank you for compiling a list of good metallic dyes. With all the dyes available its hard to find ones that look authentic
You help me to improve my characters you are a real designer. Thanks ! I subscribe for sure
Thank you :)
What are the chest and legs from the very beginning of the video? They look amazing and I can't find them to save my life.
Hello Krench! The legpiece is from the light illustrious set. And chestpiece is Jade Tech Vest. :)
@@Reshaded3D Thanks for the quick response! By the way the video is awesome, lotta good information. You've got great fashion sense my dude.
Oh lol man Im glad you called out the spikes. I noticed how too many of the armors had them but thought I was just overthinking it 😂
-Clipping Capes
-Toogled gear applied whole templates
-Cant wear outfit each templates
- Some low poly heavy armor
notice too as the ekslusive is kind of glowy so it is nice on some type of gear spots that suppose to glow
nice comfy looking armors you have made there
somtimes its a dilema when color sound rare and valuable then you feel you have to use them if you can find a way as they are above rare colors
its just a mindset of what you wanna use or what you feel like a loss if you dont use em
👍

nice video, with actual fashion advice. its exactly what ive been doing for years, even when not doing so consciously. i also love the heavy corsair leggings for my warrior. now i just need anet to make hair visible under the bararic helm, so i can finally use it without the houndskin mantle, or the shoulder scarf to hide the empty blank neck that you get with that helmet. ive spent way too much time at the wardrobe. i have an entire folder of screenshots of armor sets for my chars so i dont forget some of those creations, bc i dont have enough chars or template slots to use them all... i dont think anyone has haha. if only transmutation charges werent a thing in this game... i could have so much more fun. pls anet sell an infinite transmutation charger on the gemstore, or get rid of them for good already.
Infinite transmutation armor already exists, just gear yourself out in legendary and you'll never need a transmutation charge again! 😜
@@campioneri i have one legendary armor...
Praise Joko! I also quite enjoy Godless on metals, myself. It's a bit of a darker grey, but it gives a little bit of a worn look, similar to Darkness.
Excellent vid! I love your character style. It takes a lot of restraint not to slap all the shiny bits to your character. I have some down to earth characters but I have some shining white knights as well :D
Thank you!
LOOOOOOOOOVE the video, and I would love some more Asura looks! Their model is very different from the standard human one. Keep up the great work!
as medium armor i just ear sunspear marshal probably the best looking med armor
Also, don't work on your fashion while in maps that modify the default brightness/contrast, like the Aerodrome.

That Necromancer
So many customization options in this game and anet still rejects to make the outfits more customizable
Love your take on fashion wars. Would be great to see more content covering more specific themes like incorporating infusions tastefully.
For the giveaway, I rewatched it a few times trying to find a number 4. Must be too sleep deprived to find it written :-p.
1. Define the material.
2. Quality of Shapes.
3. Authenticity.
4. Complimentary/thematic colors.

9:20 I've done green and purple outfit and I think it looked alright (although not in GW2). The result really depends on the particular approach.
Very good overview, subbed!
Great vid quality dude :) -- It's just such a shame how transmogging is monetised in guildwars :/
Really great content! Thanks for the tips
Late to the party here but dropping a comment for the 'engagement' and in genuine thanks for an excellent piece on how to be more than a peon in the Fashion Wars :D
Awesome video, very informative and entertaining.
It would be amazing if you can host fashion war series since not many content creators cover this side of Guild Wars 2, and those who do tend to be very bias towards bling/attention grabbers and has little to no regard/knowledge of fashion/designs.
Again awesome content!
Thank you and good idea! I might consider doing something like that.
Wtf that bank panel wardrobe storage hint was so useful
Awesome and informative. What chest piece is on your thief I've never seen that one before!
If you mean charr daredevil one - its foefire chestguard. Gem shop set, which you can buy sometimes piece by piece only (with rare package of boots-gloves-mantle parts set).
Thanks for the video. Very well done.
Very useful video! But should we take a moment to talk about how cool that heavy armor Sylvari was!?
Yeah my problem with some of the gear in this game too, way too many spikes or razor shapes, typically I like to go with smooth and fancy looks with black/abyss with gold or brass and dark red/blood red for the flare, though other times I like to go with a shiny silver/platinum(with grey shiny infusion to increase the feel of it) primarily with black and white parts to it, but that's just for my main character alone..
really cool guide!
awesome video, thanks !
Bro I wish I had ur taste in Fashion Wars, I have 6k hours, almost full leggies and havent a single character that I feel confortable with fashion wise
Can I know whats the armor you use in @2:15 at left side. The samurai one, please
Hello, that's the canthan spiritualist outfit
i like the tipps thank you very much^^ but i struggle with my Charr thief alot i love thief and i love charr but the Fashion Wars is hard on them :P
07:13 LOL looks like my char but I´m not butthurt haha. Anyway, very informative and well structured video. I learned a lot from this. I'm going to experiment more with my wardrobe now and get rid of those spikey spikes for good. Thanks so much for these tips. :)
Thanks for the video, I often refer to it for inspiration and would enjoy seeing more GW2 fashion content from you. I genuinely have never seen someone come up with so many great and unique GW2 looks like it's nothing. As someone who loves experimenting with GW2 fashion and knows the name of every wardrobe skin off the top of my head, you've tried armour combinations that I never would have thought would work and they turn out looking very eye catching, elegant and natural together.
I did have a question - at 6:49 there's some examples of lambert/low texture dyes listed such as Imperial Gold, Gladium, Permafrost and Aqua Satin. Would anyone please know any more examples of these or have a full list? I generally avoid them, but for armours that dye very strangely and don't take colours the same, I love using dyes like Gladium or Aqua Satin so they certainly have their uses. But sometimes I want a lambert colour other than silver or aqua so it would be great to have more options - there seem to be very few.
Amazing video! Would you share the cosmetics used on the asura at 10:20? Understood leggins are from light antique armor.. but the rest? :(
some like to have a trolly looking character. i like to mix match but i like my toons to look crazy and odd. they still compliment in hues and texture and i actually like my characters to look less dressed but then odd shoulders. i do like the permafrost though especially for white skyscales lol.
It's pretty cool. I have been playing in EU like 2 years old. But sometimes I decided to sett my graphic just to get rid of people who have lack fashion sense. Too much colour, contrast, neon meuhh so cringe, like kids 5 y.o
thx very much for this great information
Just found out this video. Great info! any part 2?
You have opened my eyes on my fashion wars 2 game, I'm currently the lazy edgelord that just slaps shadow abyss on everything and call it a day, I'll try to go for something else :)
man, what a great vid
@9:21 whats the name of your hat and where to get?
The hat is the canthan sun hat, which obtainable in the gem store, when it's availalbe again
I usually choose a theme for my chars
my Necro is more muted in color, using the Bladed hands, shoulders, and leggings in conjunction with the Seer's Coat to look more distinct
I use the pegleg boots aswell, again, to make my necromancer look unique
the Wraith Masque was a permanent fixture to him because it looked way too good on a Charr
The Necro's name is Jaras Gearphantom, and he is a part of the Iron Legion, his child, Argus Flamemane is in the Blood Legion and is more Charr-like
Your vid heal my sore eyes. Some people decide to make their characters ugly as f, like literally. No fashion sense, least clothes, too much effect, contrast colour. That's forced me to set my graphic setting 😂
(Did my comments hurt someone? Because I didn't see my earlier comments)
Seen your video about ghrapical improvements with the "musketeer" fashion character. Been looking for ages what you are wearing. Can you please please tell me the names of what you used? Desperate hahahahaha
Hi! You mean musketeer in yellow black?
Headpiece is Swaggering Hat, shoulder is vigil's honor mantle, chestpiece are Corsair Jerkin or Jade Tech's Vest, Gloves is Antique, pant is Illustrous and boots is swaggering boots. :)
@@Reshaded3D So i took a screenshot, from when u showed off some dye options for that particular set. Went into wardrobe, searchin piece by piece. Just as a wrote the last piece down i see you reply haha!
Your the best thanks!
As someone that is studying character art and concept design for gaming, this was really interesting listening to. You highlighted alot of really interesting points that GW2 brings up and the over all color study was a great remark that you talked about, overall quality vid ~

Aw man, i got too late to the party! Great video! Can you tell me what is the medium gear that you showed with the asura at the end? I am struggling to find a good enough look to my charr scrapper...
9:29
thanks doc
Nice video! Also F in the chat for medium armor 😢 the options are so trash lol.
Great video man - I'm really not a fan of a lot of the over the top transmogs I see. I find so many of the gem store skins especially have really muddied the overall art style. I love your style though! Got some great ideas for my own fashion...especially around how to better use quality of shapes, colors, different materials and especially authenticity! *cough*
Love the Warhammer references
Finally a video for gw2 fashion wars that isnt fuckiKing go shiny that doesnt match ass shit :)
