- The blob has always been one of my favorite antagonists in Space Station 13. Seeing it come to life in 14 is awesome, and this video showcases the various elements of the antagonist.

in ss13 a blob wins by reaching critical mass, if reached it goes overdrive and sponstaneouly and rapidly spreads through the entire station killing everyone
I hope they add that in the ss14 version, it would give an extra incentive for command to nuke the station to deal with the threat
The station also self destructs in order to stop the spread
I think i’d prefer that. The blob is a sick antag but i feel like games just abruptly end. Wish it had to take like a certain percentage instead of just 400 tiles. Although it would drag games out a lot longer.
That seems like an insanely cool way to win. Here it seems rather lame.
@@hendrixtyner i don't see the problem of making longer games, it doesn't feel like dragging, but making them more interesting and giving more chance to epic moments to unfold.

Jokes on you, the blob can ‘split consciousness.’ Basically spawn a second core for another ghost role, and they can each have a different strain. Blobs don’t fight each other. Everything will be blob
If i recall correctly blobs working together is how things worked on goon station. I swear i remember a round were like 4 ai blobs spawned and they would work together to catch up and the surround you at like mach 3
I had to contain the blob on a plastinium bunker to test it on the dev map because it kept winning and restarting the round, once delta alert is declared the nuclear codes are faxxed to the captain with a CC stamp. As blob everyone will be rushing you even the other antags bc evac cannot be called while blob exists and your victory ruins their greentexts.
Blob zombies are such a fun conversion antag ❤
Especially since you retain full body capability, unlike regular zombies
Somewhat, you can't use guns or open ui to some degree

Interesting note: blob zombies can actually do anything that normal player can exept shoot from the guns
in fact, the ru servers have a lot of their own assembly content, imperial space has skills, new surgery with visualization, advanced mecha engineering, and so on, ss220 has a map with super matter that can power the station (I haven't seen this anywhere else) and large-scale retexturing, Sunrise and servers with their assembly have genestealers, narsi cults, somewhere there is a cult of ratvar, on the servers of the dead cosmos SAT is not red but blue, and their ENT is based on the dead cosmos series of games, they have a full-fledged mode with the invasion of a xenomorph with an obelisk. There seems to be a magician on Orient

btw its not "dead cosmos". They take their name (and some of the lore) from the game "Dead space" Also its "SEC", not "SAT"
You can actually become a midround blob as a crewmember, not just Cancer Mouse.
Speaking from personal experience because I did it in the middle of med not knowing and was instantly killed without knowing wtf i was doing.

Have sentient/sapient diseases been implemented?
Also, keep eye on your blob health, there is no notification that your score is being damaged, so you can easily die while fighting on other side of the map if you are not attentive enough

Back when I played SS13 the blob was the one antag role that I would be any good at. You want me to end another role? or heavens forbid steal something I have no idea where it's at. I'll play it out but it's a uphill battle. For whatever reason the blob and Malif AI just works best for me when I antag and I am happy to see it in SS14. I've never liked RTS's because of the ammount of speed you need just for even more complexity.
Compared to many of the other Antag roles, blob is one of the most straight forward.

Goob has changed for the worse tbh, back in february goob was just a fun lowpop server. Then it became popular, the popularity ruined it.
@Chair486 Goob was always supposed to be like this. It sounds like you just like vanilla lowpop servers. Try ronstation.

Blob rounds on Goonstation were fun, good to see ut in ss14 too.

Bit of a shame networked fibers is not yet a core strain on goob, still very neat

Blob is crazy strong right now.
Once i died to a fire blob explosion removing all my limbs then i got zombified but couldn't move or do anything
I've been playing a lot of goob lately and so far I have never been in a round where someone is a blob at round start. Its always been mid-round.
Also so far all the rounds that have had a blob either have the blob player choose the worst possible spot ever and die in less than five minutes or they snowball quickly before the crew finds them and just become unstoppable.
The amount of blobbernauts that can be created feels like too many with how strong blob is already when a lot of players are inexperienced with dealing with blob right now.
I feel like some nerfs are needed if only temporary ones until players get more experienced.
I was roundstart blob
Its because roundstarter blobs are not.. well.. actually roundstart (usually several minutes in is when they act), they find someplace to start and then begin, also its a rare antag because it gets mogged in moments and usually a somewhat robust tider can end you before anyone knows.
Also people validhunt cancer rats on sight (rightfully so, real crats do annoying ass rads) I can guarantee many players have been cheated out of a round because of it
@@nuclearpaste I know its not completely round start I was just saying that I have never been lucky enough to be in one of those rounds.
I did assume it was a low chance similar to like the initial infected mode.
People in space station 13 go crazy over getting specific blob mutations so that they can place and maneuver all their resource nodes directly by their core so that they can't be broken as easy during combat. Space station 14 has you covered, delivering strange 13 mechanics flipped on their heads! (I believe the distance requirement is 3-4 tiles)
as a goob lrp player, the blob almost always wins, because nobody organizes to fight it

@@gregthespooder786 they do. Any message that you will type will transmit to the blob hivemind (according to the russian server where it's being ported from)
Are you considering porting this to Harmony or does it need to be in a more developed state first? I can also understand if the sheer volume of code this introduces means more future merge conflicts making maintenance harder.

Plenty of things in goob are ported from other servers, then it gets refined from godauful-shitcode to just shitcode
Ubgraded blob tiles als will not let gas thru so you will not burn entitely

Its just normal cloning set up but wihout needing to go into expeditions to get the needed boards

@@The_Local_Goose Genuinely the two reasons I don't is because I already know the people on wizden and meeting new people is scary lmao. And Wizden is also supposed to be making their MRP rules more strict which is what attracts me. entirely too much power/meta gaming in LRP.
Is/does goob have an MRP server?
@@JadedEnV goob has an MRP server that runs on a different codebase, the antags are being ported over soon and a lot of the other features are already there.

Goob is far more like classic SS13, it can get far more chaotic then most other servers
It can get pretty chaotic, it has surgery, and if you get in combat you should aim to the head specially if you have a cutting weapon.
