Thanks for sharing! In PR the most beautiful beach I’ve seen is Flamenco beach in Culebra. On the West Coast, Crash Boat and Playa Buye are very beautiful. In the San Juan area my favorites beaches are Isla Verde and Escambron. There are so many more beaches all over that I still haven’t seen though… So I’ll have to plan another trip back.

Isla Verde is not in San Juan, it's in Carolina Town (Where is the international Luis Muñoz Marín airport.

I have been going to Crash Boat since the late 80's. It looked far better before Hurricane Maria hit the Island in Sept. 2017 and the tsunami-type waves struck in March 2018 destroyed the beautiful palm trees and dragged half the beach into the water. In the early 90's there was a sizeable restaurant in the parking lot near the beach and a boardwalk with showers between the lot and the sand of the beach. The fishermen had buildings to store their stuff and a place to sell fish right on the beach. Most of these collapsed and were eventually removed. I read that the municipality chose to not re-build these buildings. At least a third of the T-shaped pier collapsed into the sea from the hurricane. For many years I stayed with friends nearby and would go swimming in late afternoon and watch the sunsets, then have a rum and coke at Felix's improvised bar at the edge of the parking lot. I suppose Sly filmed this on a weekend, hence the big crowds.

Crash Boat Beach is halfway between the Ramey Air Force Base and Aguadilla and still retains some remains of its pier infrastructure from when it was used to rescue downed air crews from Ramey Air Force Base.[1] Now these piers remains are used as a fishing and recreation spot.
The Crash Boat Beach pier / dock was originally built with fuel pipe that pumped aircraft grade fuel for Ramey Air Force Base. As time passed, local currents dropped tons of sand into the beach and pier area, making it unusable to dock a boat at the pier.[2]
Crash Boat Beach is now a tourism spot where vacationers participate in recreational activities, such as swimming, sun bathing, surfing, and snorkeling.

My friend I am a big FAN, I’ve been following you for some time now and love your content BUT now you are in MY country and I need to correct you. Crash boat is a beautiful beach BUT to say is the best beach in PR is an exaggeration! There are beaches in Culebra, Vieques, Palomino Island, and other ones that are better, by A LOT! Before you leave PR take a boat ride to Palomino Island (from Fajardo is super cheap) and then go to CULEBRA and see Flamingo Beach…and THEN your eyes will see the truth!! One last thing, I loved how you were able to capture the spirit of the people of PR, humble people who love family and are fun to be around. The vibe is different in PR because our people are FUN. Lastly, you know you are in PR because every single grill grate is covered with aluminum foil!!! My people you have to love them, DEUCES!!!

Yes....at this video's 14:00 minute mark, the family with the plain chicken pinchos, if you would have kept walking further, you probably would have caught a view of the sunken boat, looks more like it was a freighter, under the water. I have pictures of it when I went back in 2013.

The best videos of PR I have seen. The names are the ones given by local surfers so they can identify the beaches where the waves are high while talking on the phone from their houses before the trip there. Crash boat had a crashed boat there for years. Originally there were no names for these beaches. "La bruja" video (Surfrider Foundation) gives all the names of the beaches. Our beaches are never for sale

We used to swim out there all the time they had a bridge connecting to two docs and a collapse we just went down to the bottom at the end is about 20/30 feet that’s where we used to swim. My best free divers about 60 to 70 feet.

Why it’s called Crash Boat ?
A lot of people think is because in the left side of the beach there’s currently a frame of a sunken boat, but dates back to some history in the 1940 that Dock was built to unload gasoline for the Military Ramey Base, also there was a special air unit called Emergency Rescue Boats, with its mission to rescue any helicopters, Boats in the sea, and all of those crafts (boats, helicopters, ect) was all informally called CrashBoats. Eventually it’s location just kept and got known as Crash Boat 🇵🇷

I lived at Ramey Air Force Base as a dependent from early 1953 to just before Palm Sunday, 1956. Back then Crashboat Beach was part of the base. My father would betimes take my mother and I out there for to swim and play in the sand. I was told that it was called Crashboat Beach for the "crashboats" that were anchored offshore to rescue airmen whose plane fell into the ocean of that end of the flight line. I did see a lot of cabin cruisers anchored off the shore, perhaps more than would be needed for a B-36 bomber that went into the drink. Nothing like that ever happened in the three years that i was there. Back then there were no concrete walls or any large boat dock like what I see in this video.

Hello, May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, & with His STRIPES we are HEALED."
God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, & the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, & abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus & put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
