I taught my 13-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter to Save Christmas and birthday money. Then to invest in an S&P index fund after the Covid crash. They made a $700 profit in 6 months. which was a great lesson, but obviously not the normal return... They continue to invest and have tripled their principle by adding money and reinvesting dividends. My plan for them is financial freedom. Because my parents were poor and lived in debt most of their lives. My dad died and left a financial mess for us to clean up. This made me get serious about investing and improving my kids' lives. Thanks Mark!
Financial freedom is good and all but they are still children u know. If they make a mistake u are gonna have to clean it up. Also I think in pursuit of this financial freedom, they are losing their time as children. Money can be addicting and they might become hungry for money as they grow up. Overall it's a good lesson but they should have done it when they are atleast 16 years or above which is still an good age all things considered
The biggest hurdle is usually "I don't have enough money to invest". After that its the sign up process, then trying to time the market. It's good to just get in there and just trust in the investments you have decided on.
Great job Mark I love the way you are passively teaching the younger generation coming through bit by bit, thanks for sharing all your knowledge and advice for free.
I'm currently 16 years old and is interested in things like this so while I'm still a kid i gotta learn fast and this channel helps me understand things much better
Honestly, I haven't invested yet at all, but, there is one thing that I think is important once I start doing that: Only use money that you can afford to miss. That way there's always a chance for things to get better, but you won't get in trouble if things unexpectedly go south. Then again, that's my opinion, some may disagree. It's always a good idea to keep a close eye on your income and expenses, and thankfully Mark is here to help us understand things a bit more. So, thanks for your videos Mark, again.
That is the most common tip in investing... Whether you like it or not, you will face loses. Now it is a matter to keep cool and absolute trust in the companies that you have invested in.
Sould tell people about the washboard rule. If you don't hold the stock for more than 30 days any of your losses arent recognized, but all of your gains will be. I screwed myslef at tax time
I remember we had a stock game at school in social studies and we all started with 1k. We had two months to gain profit. Within those two months I turned that 1k into 100k. Then when it was the last day of school and we had a thing we’re people voted for people and there was a “who is most likely to me a millionaire” and they chose me. This was in 7th grade. Fun times
Hi Mark. I have a probably dumb question that is why don't ceos like jeff bezos and mark zuckerberg fully own their companies? Why do they only own a part of it?
Hi Mark, great videos. I know your videos are more about the actual investing, but can you cover stuff like doing a self assessment so people earning from investing don't end up with a bill?
Great vid (and the earlier one!) I feel that if this vid had been made last week rather than start of Nov, it would be a very different picture as Tesla and crypto both took quite large hits recently. If she'd bought her Tesla shares a few weeks later, she would have been looking at a substantial loss!
My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies. Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless.
Couldn’t have put it better myself. Last year a colleague introduced me to a financial consultant Camille Anne Hector, so far she is helping me find investments that have significant growth potential.
Can you please make a video about the F.I.R.E. movement and what you think about it. I think it is a very interesting topic for a video. Btw thanks for your great content!
What advice will you give to beginners who want to invest but are not sure am 35 years old and wanna invest what and where should I invest in any tips and advice please and also can you make a video of preventing any loss while investing
Did the same for my wife to get her started. She likes cryptos. I hate cryptos, but she's doing OK so far and learning a lot in the process. The key is to continue to learn and grow for success.
Love your vids Mark Investing for new people should be seen as starting a new hobby. You start of small with the cheap entry level gear then as things progress and you like it you spend more and it takes up more of your time.
Tried to invest in AMC back in February. Didn't have enough money to even make an initial investment. Just a few hundred dollars would be like 20k now.
Hi, you could have invested a few hundred on the public.com platform no problem. Take a look via my link and you get a free stock to get you going. Thanks MT 😎
Hey so I'm planning on Forming a Corporation that mainly focuses on Ecological problems and provides economical solutions. Do you have any solid advice for getting started? Y'know the "do's and dos and don'ts"
I started on Free Trade on the 20th of December. As of today (31st) I have seen my folio climb from 170 to 220 with 3 stocks combined. I was apprehensive to invest so I started small.
I have a question and I hope that you can answer? What are your thoughts on Shiba inu. Should I invest in it? Thank you for your time. Have a great night sir.
He’s probably going to say stop investing in more risky things (norm higher rates) with anything more than the 1-10% “fun money” and learn from the experience
Dafuq did you do? Xd. Anyways work and put it on crypto and tesla when it dips, because elon is selling his shares and its gonna go down, keep it in there for 5 year minimum and dont puss out when the price drops
Also be careful guys, the US started to taper and everything is starting to lead to an economic recession, so do gold to save your money not turning into useless paper (would also give you like a 5% increase in these times) do crypto right now tho
The shorter the time frame you're looking to be in a play, usually the greater risk you're taking. The longer time you give yourself, the less risk involved as you are allowing yourself more time to hit your target.
You’re right, it’s by far the best way to build long term wealth while managing your risk and emotions. Can you endorse any expert? I have since been searching for one with a highly proficient platform.
@mark, the ETF market is high right now, I understand its time in the market compared to timing in the market but if you had a lump sum (your whole net worth) sitting in the bank, would you really put majority in ETF's and such, RIGHT NOW? No matter how high the market is currently? thanks in advance, feels a bit scary. Constant people saying we are due a doomsday recession... or should I just ignore the noise and whack it all in...
I have never invested before and put basically half my money to s p 500 few months ago (around 10k) but I'm also kind of fearing the crash a bit so thinking if i should cash out sometime soon or not. Then buy back at the crash. But never know how much it will still go up it's kind of difficult to predict
No one knows how the market is gonna go, but if you're really worried about a crash, just drip-feed money in every month. That should level out most of the volatility long term and gives you the option to invest more if the price does drop significantly.
I would appreciate any updates on these investments in the current market. Things were definitely booming last year and it would be interesting to see what has happened in the recent months

It's a really positive message - we need more girls/women to invest! She can be a really good rollmodel
I wish I have people like you in my life.
I got my girlfriend to invest and she's outperformed me by a long shot since she's way more disciplined. Great video

You are the new Warren Buffet for youngsters!
Such a gentle voice. This is how I imagine polite British people to talk.
Another fantastic video Mark. It's great to see Laura's investments gaining such a high % in such a short space of time.
Tweetman!!!?
If only everything was in percentages
I‘ve invested 6000€ over this year and made +500€ (+8,3%). That feels great, Mark!
I like her voice. She was born for this.
You know hes a chill boomer from the beats headphones
He drives a tesla, buys bitcoin and talks about crypto gaming. Def a chill boomer

Don’t invest so early u parents will kill u and it’s very risky and dangerous
It isn’t risky or dangerous
Just depends wether your investing wisely and for the long run, or are u chasing fast returns
Beginning investors let's go, it will be a long journey but the reward is 10x better
Great work! Would love to see another update in half a year - a years time. Keep the great content coming Mark!

Yeah! Girl Power! 💪🏻💰
thanks mark, I now feel more confident about getting started into investing in crypto currency
Just never buy when it’s at its high that is the greatest tip
great vid, how about making a vid on ‘how to declare one’s investments on you tax return form’ ?
Like the Tardis and Star Wars canvases. Definately a thumbs up from me!
Early thanks to that notification bell. Love your videos!
Business and investment are the easiest way of making money
Stocks are good but Crypto is better
Crypto is the future, but investing now will be a very wise decision to take.
That won't bother you, if you trade with a professional like expert Goza
My first Investment with Goza , has earned me profits of over $24,320 us dollars and ever since then he has been delivering
He's obviously the best i invested $2000 with him and in 9 days i made a profit of $9102
I'm 17 and turning 18 this year so I'm learning from your videos so I can immediately invest when I turn 18. I am al ready trying to save a bit

how are you investing? I have around $140k, only index funds, half in s&p and half in vigax. What do you think I should try?
The way I understand it, crypto (as least bitcoin) is basically a digital precious metal. It's finite and, as a result, immune to inflation.
Thanks mark

I think when I’m older, I will save up 1000$ to try investing. If it goes well I will continue, I could have a budget for investing specifically.

would love another update on this mark :)
Who is this girl and why is she so adorable.
Hi Markus, she is a family friend and now a fellow investor. Thanks for watching MT 😎
I will keep watching your videos until i have a job and invested
Should I go for vanguard S&p 500 etf or is there better index funds to invest in

Quit Mark, move to rob. Robbing others, that is.

any chance you two can make this a Bi-monthly update series thing?

Invested 250,- in Vechain a couple weeks ago. It is exploding thus far, hopefully sell it around February before it collapses.
So I'm 16 and want to have a place to put my money from work so I can have a more passive income and slowly grow it what do you recommend I do.
YAY I’m so glad you did an update video with her! What app is she using to invest? Is it the Public app?
free trads
Yeahhh more updates!!! Please! So good 😊
Is Cex a safe site to invest in crypto?

Hey Mark,
on the crypto stuff, you going to do a collab with Guy from the Coinbureau at some point?
Think he's in your neck of the woods :)
good vid!
How do you pick shares?
Its a pretty cool coincidence that your vids are coming up in my recommendations right as my mom tells me that she wants me to learn about investments
I was just randomly thinking about investments one day at work. Next thing i know when i get home and get on youtube i see a lot of these investment video recommendations. either a sign that i should get into investing stocks or it's a sign that they're listening to us.

Perhaps you could try getting a revolut account and doing the currency exchange on there before you deposit money into the ETF? They have very good exchange rates
There are tax free ways as well
I want to invest maybe between 300-500€. It’s all I can invest, since I’ve become a young mother 😅
Any ideas or tips? I’m a total beginner, so when should I sell stocks after Profit etc..
Hope Someone could give me some tips.
Thanks and have a great day!
I'm looking to start investing stocks for long term (From the UK) but what platform is best to use. Preferably one I could use from my mobile?
