OA3 looks noisier on TH-cam and still has soft focus. That said, I'm tempted by one, I have the OA2. The biggest selling point for me is that I can just plug in a small ext mic if needed without a media mod or adaptor. Colours out teh box do seem nicer too.
Interesting. I have to go back and look at that. I didn't notice that it was noisier, however I stared at the footage so much editing that it all becomes a blur. External mic is a plus and the magnetic quick connect is really convenient. Surprising how many times that has come in handy. Thanks for watching!
I have the action 3 and love it. The focus on mine isn't soft and it has a build date of 11/22. I've owned it now for about 3 weeks. I've owned 4 gopros over the years (last gopro was the 10) and none of them have been issue free.
I have been using my action 3 for almost every video that I shoot unless I am featuring a specific product that requires me to review it by filming with it. I am very happy with it and I feel like out of the box performance is simply the most well-rounded. I never had problems with GoPros, I just feel like the Action 3 is easier. Yeah it's obviously one of the biggest comments that I get on any videos involving the action 3. It's just so hard to know and I feel like we haven't gotten the definitive answer about why certain units have problems. I will tell you that the video for sure softens in lower light. My guess is that DJI opted for a bit softer video with less noise. So to be sure, you'll want to make sure you have decent light out. If you shoot in the car on a sunny day for example, you'll see some loss.of sharpness. As far as the soft focus issue, I can only say that I'm happy with my unit. Your mileage may vary. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment.

I have went through 4 of them, don’t buy one. Get a Action 2, GP11, or an X3. I would stay away from this camera, believe me I want to love this camera, but after hours of time and energy wasted trying to get a camera that was in focus I have moved on.
I really enjoyed that video. The quality in both cameras is truly extraordinary and I think it also has a lot to do with your edit. Well composed, it held my interest, I give this video to thumbs up. Have a great day y’all
DJI must be hurting to sale these, they usually don’t flood TH-cam with small content creators doing sponsored reviews, but they have massively pushed this camera out to hundreds of small creators.

Great video dude! I’m in the market for an action cam. I’ve been doing TH-cam for several years now, but I’m still very much a novice at videography. Kind of apples to oranges since it's a 360 cam, but It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on that one as well!
I haven't had any experience with the Insta360 X3. I had a terrible experience with the little "Go2" which I had purchased to do some vlogging. It simply stopped working and had lots of issues so I sort of stayed away from them. However I've considered reviewing the X3, it's just that it didn't make it because of other projects. The support / customer service at Insta360 is virtually non-existent as well. The only concern I have with the DJI is that you have to have good lighting. So if you are talking about action outside during the day you should be very happy with it. But then again all action cameras need good light. I just find the Action 3 degrades a bit more on lower light than GoPro. I agree that the GoPro produces a bit sharper video, but I suppose it depends on what you are looking for. I am not unhappy with the video that comes from the DJI and I find it a much easier and quicker way to shoot. If I have plenty of time to set up my shot and I don't mind some post-production, I reach for the GoPro. But 90% of the time I'm using the Action 3 and I'm quite happy with it. I will tell you that lighting is a bigger factor with the Action. 3. It does soften up more than the GoPro in low light.
It’s a hardware issue, not software, no amount of firmware will fix the focus issue in the early batches made. Now that they can’t sell them they are stuck with a bunch of old stock with faulty calibration. Chances of you getting a new lot that’s been “corrected” are very slim.
As much as I wanted to really like this camera, I guess I'm just not most people as your title implies. Took it back to Best Buy, return counter person said I was about the fifth one to return theirs today. He was hoping that DJI would seriously look into this issue and do more than tell people there's a firmware update that will correct it. Apparently it's not correcting it.
Yea you are NOT alone. You are referring to the soft focus issue I assume? I just haven't noticed it to the degree that it bothers me. @@HeHasTheCamera yeah, i think that’s the easiest way to thousand steps beach.
It doesnt have as good focus as a GoPro. Also, its TERRIBLE as a helmet cam if you connect an external mic to it. Tonnes of complains about audio volume too high and clipping issues with the only solution being "buy our 300$ mic"
Interesting. I haven't tried it at all as a helmet cam. When I mountain bike I use a chest mount but I am still using GoPro for that.
action 3 video quality too soft
I agree that the GoPro produces a bit sharper video, but I suppose it depends on what you are looking for. I am not unhappy with the video that comes from the DJI and I find it a much easier and quicker way to shoot. If I have plenty of time to set up my shot and I don't mind some post-production, I reach for the GoPro. But 90% of the time I'm using the Action 3 and I'm quite happy with it. I will tell you that lighting is a bigger factor with the Action. 3. It does soften up more than the GoPro in low light.
All the more it became the best with the last big update that fixed focus issues.
They do seem to be making some nice adjustments in the last few updates. So far I've been quite happy. Thanks so much for watching!
It’s a hardware issue, not software, no amount of firmware will fix the focus issue in the early batches made. Now that they can’t sell them they are stuck with a bunch of old stock with faulty calibration. Chances of you getting a new lot that’s been “corrected” are very slim.
Appl Dji mimo 🤑🖕
Haha I don't disagree. Thanks so much for watching
New Feiyu Pocket 3 😁👍
As much as I wanted to really like this camera, I guess I'm just not most people as your title implies. Took it back to Best Buy, return counter person said I was about the fifth one to return theirs today. He was hoping that DJI would seriously look into this issue and do more than tell people there's a firmware update that will correct it. Apparently it's not correcting it.
Yea you are NOT alone. You are referring to the soft focus issue I assume? I just haven't noticed it to the degree that it bothers me. Now don't get me wrong, I have moments where I look at it and think "did that encode right?" or "does that look a little off." But maybe I just have low standards haha. But I very much appreciate you watching it!
dji action 2 is the way to go.. action 3 is trash
I love the action 2, However, these two cameras are entirely different. I really don't think you can compare the two cameras at all. I looked at this in my first video on the DJI action. 3. Watch this and let me know your thoughts...
