I got the billetron on it works awesome except for having to blow into the hoses to get it to clear out and start first kick. Going with the tank, reckluse, and that might be it maybe play with the gearing. Sticking with yellow spring and make it kick in a little sooner than later so the hit is essentially always there and the power is linear.
I’ve got a Lectron on my 15’ Husky. Runs great just a bit more work to adjust than SC. I never heard of the issue you’re having, did you contact them to get their input?
Thanks for documenting what you have done to the bike. I have a 2020 KTM 250sx that I am starting to convert to a trail bike. Your video has given me some good ideas. Also curious what color spring are you running in the power valve
You’re welcome glad it helped. I’ve stuck with the stock yellow spring and have adjusted it to maximize traction without losing too much quick hit. Kind of a personal setting so each should adjust to what they like IMO. I might not have updated but also found I preferred lower gearing for tight slow trails and am running a 13:50 ratio of front to rear sprockets. Again just a personal preference
Hey thanks! I've tried a few variations but have settled for 13:50 for the front and rear. I've used 14:49 for fast flowy trails in Central Oregon but like a 13 tooth front for the steep mountain trails we have in Washington. Differences are subtle but for the technical slow stuff I found the lower gearing of the 13 front really helps with the naturally higher 1st gear of the SX. Cheers!
@@allenfilipowicz8369Same here, tried 14:49, 14:50, 13:49 then 13:50 which felt the best. Funny because my 300xc is 13:50 so I didn’t expect to end up in the same spot on the SX tranny. Love this bike and only run the 300 on the gnarliest of days that are super technical and lots of starting where the eStart is nice.
9 oz. as I wanted lightest one that would still do what I wanted it to do. Yes being so light was one of primary draws for doing this project. It reminded me of my former 200 with lightweight handling but closer to my former 300 in power all in one newer bike 👍🏻
Hey there, I like the build. I'm in the market for a new bike and I'm torn between a gas gas ec 250, yz 250x, or gas gas mc 250. If I went with the latter I'd want to do something close to what you have done with your ktm. Only thing extra I would like to add is a rewound stator and headlight, but I haven't had much luck with the newer ktm 2 stroke motocross bikes as far as finding parts goes. I like the lighter weight and simplicity of these bikes compared to the efi bikes.
Yeah lot’s of choices but I have no regrets. I know somebody that got a low hour TPI last year almost brand new and he had sensor issues right away and then just sold it because he couldn’t get it to run right. I know that’s the exception and not the norm but when it happens to you it’s frustrating and I didn’t wanna deal with that at all. Good luck in your choices👍
@@allenfilipowicz8369 Hey there, I ended up going with a 2022 mc 250 and I couldn't be happier. Rode it back to back with my buddies 2022 ex 300 which felt quite a bit heavier by comparison. My bike feels like a 125 chassis with a 250 motor, so much fun. Just need a bigger tank to start with. Maybe I'll make a few build videos to compliment what you have on here. There isn't enough content on these types of builds
@@jeradbennett5030hey there I’m looking to turn a 24 mc250 into a trail bike. Came to your comment here while researching about the bike it’s a lot cheaper than the ec300 I want. So how do you like the mc250 so far for woods riding if you still have it? I don’t see to much difference besides a light and tank and of course bigger cc on the ec bike besides the moto version. I like that it’s lighter also.
@rdgsupafli I love it in the woods, then again I'm no pro and I'm not super picky. I even run the stock 19" rear and it works just fine. Although an 18" with a sticky compound Enduro tire would be sweet, just not sure how well it would wear. I pack gas in a one gallon fuel bladder though I think I'll get a bigger tank at some point and maybe even try to throw a light on her. The reason I went with this bike at the time compared to others was how light it was. With a claimed 212 lb dry weigh. My buddy has a 2022 ex 300 and we've both ridden our bikes back to back and we both like mine more, funny right, not being a woods bike and all. I love that fact that it's an old school, carbed, kickstart machine. That's why it's so light, and you definitely notice that right away in the tight shit. Happy riding man and no matter what you end up on I'm sure you'll have fun.
I did do it slightly per their suggestion. The sensor at top of SC needs to be free of any obstructions to function correctly. It was easy and quick to do 👍

Wondering what your gear ratio is for the trail riding you do?

Such a sweet bike. I just picked up a 250sx and i have most of these mods. What ounce FWW did you get? I love how light the bike is!

Did you have to dremal down the air box at all on your bike for the smartcarb to fit properly? I’ve heard some bikes you do so I’m just curious.

What size fww did you go with?im going to do same thing with a gasgas mc250
The lightest one Steahly offered for my bike which I believe was a 9oz. as it was absolutely perfect after installing 👍
Thanks man good jawb on that thing
