I find it interesting how we're still arguing over how two working people function in a marriage. My father and mom both worked fulltime jobs, but still acted in their respective roles. My father paid all the bills and held down the more mechanical and technical things in the marriage, as well as making the big decisions such as family emergencies, natural disasters, etc But my mom would often invest her money in groceries, children and house accessories [which definitely adds up]. She also had a hot meal cooked for my dad every day, ironed his clothes and made sure he had coffee when he woke up. It's not that hard to be in a relationship with two money makers, it's just about delegating tasks and ensuring each side upholds their part.

As an Eastern European I'm dumbfounded by the logic on both sides. When you're in a marriage you work together with your partner with every recourse you have to help each other on both sides. I've never been known to be much for arguing with people in general because I preferred being violent at one point. I'm no woman beater, but do know that people usually stay in line when they know you're violent. When it came to women, I just attempted to calmly make my point without all the drama. What I found is that the calm approach doesn't work.
