It's a lot of work dating. Everything person you meet you have to build with. It might not be financially all the time. Or it might not be emotionally all the time. Because since no one is perfect, that means building is all going to have to be done. Either a lot or a little. The hard part is when that issue happens. Growing up paying bills as a kid made me turn to the streets and put me in bad situations, cases. Eli’s argument of men not wanting to “deal w a woman’s emotional struggles” is invalid. first of all, a “real man” who loves his woman IS going to take the time to peel back those layers from past trauma.. y’all are not the only ones who’ve been hurt. secondly, building a “man” up from the ground does not equate to to a man/woman catering to their significant other’s emotional needs. a “project man” is someone who cannot even buy himself a meal. who in their right mind would deal w that? would you ELI, pursue a woman who’s not your type in hopes that she’ll become your type once y’all together? bc that’s basically what you’re telling us to do.. believe in the “potential” & last time I checked, yall n!ggas was telling us “women only see potential n that’s why their problem” “pick better men” “why you messing w broke men who can’t do nothing for you? have self respect” so which one is it?

In the “What is a real man?” Segment, I find this conversation to be interesting and real. One thing I will say though is to the point of a man not wanting to work with a woman who is guarded….. we are all guarded in certain areas of our lives. If you truly want to be with the person, you will work with them (man or woman). It takes an emotional intelligent person to understand what’s happening and work with that person. I think this is why a lot of people don’t want to get married. It’s real life work.
