    That G Comp Switch is such a great product. I have two of these things lol. I have a total of 4 TVs in the Game room. 1 large Panasonic Crt, one Small Samsung Crt, one LG Monitor, and a Samsung Led 3D Tv that is mounted on a rotating mount. One of the Gcomps has 4 systems going into it. The Snes, the Sega Master System with the Gen 1 adapter, my Rgb modded Turbo Duo with adapter, and finally the Jaguar/jag cd combo hooked with with the Jag2snes adapter from Stone age game and then hooked up with the Component cables. The two outputs go to my small Crt and my large Crt. The other G Comp is loaded to the Brim with 8. I have the OG Xbox going to it through the advance pack and the HD R male to male cable, Ps1 with the PS1 adapter, PS2 with 1st party Sony component cables, Rgb modded 64, Gamecube with the Nintendo 1st party Component cables, The Model 1 Sega Genesis/Model 1 Sega Cd/32X tower, the Sega Saturn with the Saturn Adapter, and Finally the Neo Geo Aes with the Neo Geo Adapter. I have this G comp going out to the large Crt but also my HD Tv as I can rotate the screen for all the games on these systems that support Tate mode, also for systems like the Gamecube, Xbox, and PS2 with some higher resolution HD games. Finally for the systems that have games that off a 16:9 mode. The only 4 retro systems I am not able to use this setup with are my FZ-1 3DO and my Philips Cdi 220. I use S Video with both of those systems on the large Crt and it looks great. I have seen both can be modded however for use with the HD Retrovision Component cables. I will probably get those done down the road at some point. The Dreamcast is the only system I have hooked up to that LG monitor. I have it going through the 1st party Black Sega Dreamcast VGA adapter and I am very pleased how they look and play on the monitor. Finally, the Nes. I thought about modding that one but I am going to keep it stock and just plugged into the large Crt as my only Composite Console. I got the final run of the Analogue Nt Noir so I have a solution for beautiful looking Nes visuals if I want them. Anyhow. Loved your video. When I saw your Gamecube, I was like Damn! I have the exact same setup. 4 wavebirds, the Gba player, mine is black as well. I use that 1st party Nintendo Component cable and have the Broadband adapter for some Lan Double Dash/Phantasy Star Online private servers. I have that Halo Xbox too. I just sent it off to get that Clock capacitor taken care of. Getting into better cables and setups like this is truly a rabbit hole.

      A rabbit hole that goes too deep, and costs for too much..... dope that we have some similar set ups, im digging my FRAM modded Saturn ATM

    Looks good! I invested into a Hydra SCART Switcher and hooked up all my retro consoles to it, to a RetroTink 5x. Buying SCART cables was less expensive than component for me.

    • @BlipsnPips

      Scart is def cheaper. Trust me.... I know now

      Really? I’m thinking about abandoning scart and switching to component. Though I am planning on doing a Extron Crosspoint switching setup. Way more outputs for TVs & capture cards. You can still use a gcomp switch with it btw. I’m gonna use my scart gcomp as one of the inputs.

    Cool video! It's always helpful to see someone else's setup. I've also been waiting for that freaking Dreamcast cable for years now! I don't know where HD Retrovision is on that one...

      I got an email a week or so ago saying some stuff was back in stock and the DC cable SHOULD be out this year

  • @BenSchmerler
    @BenSchmerler 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    For the Dreamcast I use a HDMI box that's pretty good. It also allows you to switch it between regular and vga output so you can deal with the games that don't like vga. I'd recommend that.

    • @BlipsnPips
      @BlipsnPips  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The issue is, right now I can't use the Dreamcast with my switcher or my CRT as they bothcneed component. I use the scart into the framemeister for my HDMI needs but component would be the best for my set up

    Cool setup.. I'm sort of jealous lmao. I now have a waaay simpler setup here... I say "now" because I recently condensed it... I originally had to have two capture cards... I had (technically still have) a Black Magic Design Intensity Pro 4k (IP4k) for my HD/HDMI consoles/devices (PS3/PS4/Switch etc) and that's worked a treat, but I also have a PS1/PS2/Super Famicom (aka JP SNES aka SFC) along with a RetroTink 2x Pro Multiformat and when linedoubled the SFC's refresh rate is JUST a skewed/ out of sync at 59.95hz or there abouts and it creates a V-HOLD scrolling effect, making any footage useless to me... That's the only linedoubled console that does that to me... (All my analog consoles use HD Retrovision component cables btw... I won't settle for anything else xD)
    (A somewhat useless mention, but my HDMI consoles go through their own HDMI switcher. I've yet to hook it all up with my HDMI splitter/HD60 X etc, but it should work.)
    To fix that I got a capture card from company Pluggable called the NIXX for my analog consoles and that problem no longer exists. Fast forward to a week or so ago. I got an Elgato Game Capture HD60 X to replace both the IP4k and the NIXX and so far everything's playing nice with the scaling and whatnot. My last hurdle is a proper component switcher. I also have an occasional side business where I digitize peoples' home videos on Video8/Hi8/MiniDV/VHS, and I want to have it all hooked up and ready to go at moment's notice.. I have a 3-in-1-out component switcher at the moment that won't kick it for me. The GCompSW 8x2 you got is tempting, but IDK if I wanna spend $295 + shipping + your promo code on it... I might end up doing it but I've not decided yet. Lastly, in terms of streaming I have an Apple M1 Mac mini with one 49" HDTV that the HD60 X works with super well. OBS just sees it and it works a charm Yes... You can stream / record using macOS... It's how I prefer doing it.
    Any suggestions for improvement would be grately appreciated!

      I've never used Mac, I hear good and bad things but I think it depends on what you're used to. Also... did the comp switch go up in price!? It was $220

    One solution would be to get one of Behar Bros vga boxes, get a scart to rca (component) cable.

  • @Quest4GloryGamer

    I bet you could use a HDMI splitter on the output to do both displays. That way you're not switching out HDMI cables.

    • @BlipsnPips
      @BlipsnPips  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking about that, but I am trying to minimize connections too, more connections = more lag

      @@BlipsnPips I bet there are splitters that don't add to delay or latency. A little research and you could find one.

  • @AXstud
    @AXstud ปีที่แล้ว

    Im building a setup myself. Curious about what the brand of the tv is in your pc room? You mentioned something about latency?

    • @BlipsnPips
      @BlipsnPips  ปีที่แล้ว

      In the office it's a Samsung 4k, the latency isn't from the TV, it's just the fact that the signal goes from console->upscaler->capture card->TV. No bad latency with any of those components individually, but with all of them going at once, there is a slight lag back to my computer. Doesn't affect me playing, I just may say something while recording or on stream that then happens a half second later or something

      It's actually from IKEA, I forget which though... probably the "smorgsion-borgsion" or something... I will say it came with doors but I didn't install them to show them off better

  • @McGuinness89
    @McGuinness89 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you hook a console up with composite, will it output though the component cables? My Denon receiver will take composite and s-video and covert it through the component output so you don’t have to hook up more cables to the TV

    • @BlipsnPips
      @BlipsnPips  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you hook up a console into something that outputs component it will still be composite, unless there is some kind of upscaling/processing. For example, the only way with my set up to get high quality output from my dreamcast is to use the scart cable which I can make better with the framemeister. But if I use composite cables and plug it into my component switch (which outputs through component cables) it'll still just be a composite signal. Also those like... $10 "av to hdmi" box things on amazon are the same, for some dumb ass reason they say "1080" output but it's a lie. I have a video on my channel that gives a really good side by side comparison, check it out: th-cam.com/video/zQ_wWo1-WN0/w-d-xo.html
