    Just to comment on a really old video (it's 2021!), I purchased this exact same watch back in 2010; it's been doing its thing and with the exception of recently replacing the CTL1616 battery which most likely wasn't even necessary, there's been next to zero issues with its performance. It just keeps going and going.
    The only feature it's missing which is available on the more recent model is an ability to adjust the Auto Illumination setting between either 1 or 3 seconds. This model only illuminates for 1 second which isn't long enough, at least for me.

      I’m pretty sure I have the same one do you know how to set it because I can’t find any videos with that style to set it and mine won’t sync to the tower for some reason

    i have one of these. if you feed the non-buckled end of the strap through the loop on the buckled side (basically doubling up the strap backwards through the loop) you can get it to sit upright like you want.

    If the design hasn't changed from a few years ago, you can slip the bottom band through the slide piece part of the top band and the watch can sit on your desk

    I have one of the similar models which looks almost exactly the same as yours. I can't remember when I got it, maybe 2007 or 08? It's currently Dec 2021. I've had to replace the strap, which wore out at the buckle, and replace the case because my dog chewed on it. The battery indicator has only ever dipped down to the second tab once in its life. Recently I've been having trouble with the EL button not firing (or maybe the light itself is malfunctioning?) but have no other issues. I wear it nearly constantly (sleeping, showering, hot tub, swimming in the pool or ocean, etc) and only take it off for a few minutes at a time when I'm working at my computer, or replace it with a fancier watch for big events. I've had it so long, and it's so easy to use (you never really have to set it or anything) that I've forgotten how to do everything but change time zones and set alarms. This thing is a TANK. I never want another digital watch other than this bad boy.

    For Auto Illuminate, you hold the "light" button on for a few seconds and then the "AUTO EL" indicator goes on in the right round dial. Hold light button again to turn the function off.

    Sep. 2, 2018: Great job! A classic! Still a very good review since I still have this watch, still use it and you can't get a manual online for it. Thanks ... after all these years! Bet your not in high school anymore ... lol!

    Wow a 12 year old video on one of my watches, that's cool, and very helpful. Wonder how yours is holding up now after almost 13 years.

    question i have the same watch on your looks like my casio atomic has ran out of battery can i replace that even its solar ? If its replaceable battery what kind?

    • @tarheelred
      @tarheelred 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      *_Yes. ALL Casio Solar models run on a CTL 1616 rechargeable battery. What most people don't know is even when the battery utterly dies, it can be revived, provided you try to revive it in time. Charge this bad girl in light, solar light is optimum, and voila. Hat tip to Elmer The Clep for that one. Go check out his channel. He's an expert on Casio Solar Atomic models._*

      Can attest. This thing was dead a year ago, and I sat it in my window for a few days and it's as good as new. The atomic setting is a couple minutes off but the watch still works great.
