Today I got black corn, it's has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. Black corn contains essential nutrients such as iron, thiamin, magnesium, vitamin A... also adds a nice texture in this "corn pancake dessert" . We eat it as a dessert or my kids eat it as a snack! #chinesefood
300g Corn (Blanched in the water)
40g Glutinous rice flour
35g Corn starch
1 1/2 cup Cooking oil
4-6 tbsp water (adjust)
Sugar (optional for sprinkle in the end)
Or dip in honey any sauce you like:) such as condensed milk!
Mix the corn, glutinous rice flour, corn starch together, add water little by little until you see the sticky mixture. Then add about 1 tbsp cooking oil on a pan, when the oil is hot pour the corn mixture in, flatten by a spatular, turn the heat medium low. Pan fry for about 2-3 minutes, pour over hot oil to fry until crispy.

I like Asian dishes because they tend to use savoury foods as desserts, just like beans and of course, corn. It's unique and great tasting!

黑豆 black soybeans are served with honey in Japan and Chinese people make soymilk with it (sweet) and also 豆豉鯪魚 fermented black soybean and fish (savory). Tofu is also used as dessert 豆腐花 and in stir fries. (Though from the method I was given, 豆腐花 is made slightly differently than tofu for cooking)
Yeap. We have a lot of food ingredients that can be both savoury and sweet.

my mother always said i’m not a restaurant we didn’t always like the food but we were great full we had something to eat i love to grocery shop no name is just as good as the name brand and a lot cheaper i may not have much but each day i wake up thankful that corn looked so good and the burgers turned. out yummy another great video

I just want to say that the book idea is awesome... I can’t wait. This is what we need! You should sell the book on racks in the entryway of every Asian market! I see confused looks on Non-Asian faces every time I go. I’ve always thought that if the Asian market provided some kind of buyers guide, it would be a hit. I can’t even figure out what noodles to buy for lo mein because the packaging rarely says “lo mein” or “mein” in English and I can’t read Chinese. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

Huh I’ve never seen black corn. My parents grow yellow corn for eating and “Indian corn” for decoration. The Indian corn is a bunch of different colors. I wonder if it can be cooked and if it’s similar to black corn… probably not. I’ll have to look it up, just to be sure 😂
I’ve eaten corn with a bunch of different colours before! It had yellow, black, purple, pink/purple and brown. It tasted the same as black corn except the yellow pieces which were just sweet 😊
Indian corn can be grilled on charcoal it tastes good. Apart from that, we make flour to make bread Makki roti.
