Sleep-deprived and petulant by nature, Caleb Sinclaire reluctantly picks up his brother Peter at college and brings him and his new girlfriend Emma home for Thanksgiving. Having recently broken up with his girlfriend, Caleb warns Peter that Emma will end up hurting him, but he can't stop himself from being drawn to her. As Caleb's obsession with Emma grows, he must decide whether to act on his feelings or protect his brothers first love.

Once upon a time I was actually a projectionist at SXSW and screened this for a theater full of people. Great film. It stuck with me all this time.
dark movie. my favorite Adam Scott performance. his sadness is penetrating.

I think Adam Scott's performance in this was seriously Oscar-worthy. I hadn't even heard of it, though, until I accidentally stumbled upon it on Netflix. Brittany Snow and J.K. Simmons were good, too. This movie was pretty intense, though. Like most other comments say, it's dark, but some of it is actually funny. I love independent films and this is a good one.
Totally not a comedy... its one of those movies that actually sticks with you... and it evokes way way way more feelings thatn just humor out of you. love the movie just hate the trailer
This was one of the very best movies I've ever had the pleasure of seeing in my life, and it surprised the hell out of me. The performance Adam Scott gave will be remembered as one of the great performances of our time. One day, this film will get the recognition is truly deserves. Absolutely brilliant!
I think Adam Scott in here is my favorite movie character ever.

I loved the movie. Wound up caring about everybody in it. Not everything worked out out for everyone in the end . But some real life lessons were learned. I gave it a huge thumbs up . Must see. Maybe because I'm the dads age I understand it totally. You will too when you're older.
This trailer does nothing for the movie. It's way more dark and serious and a very tense movie. I loved it so much and recommend it to everyone

Wow Adam Scott, I didn't know you could act like this. I'm actually not really sure what to take from this movie. It was good, but, I'm not sure what the lessons are suppose to be. I assume there are some.
Connection out of spite will always be more intense and destructive while connection of the sake of connection is about as worthless.
The same can be said for connection between father an son. Just my take.
Brittany looks like Katy Perry. That's a good thing though!!!

I loved it! but, in the trailer they make the movie seem like a funny movie. yes, it had some funny parts, but the main story was actually pretty serious and sad. i cried at at the end.

@mitre178 eh it's definitely more of a drama and pretty depressing to be honest. The cheery music and Netflix listing as a comedy (where I watched it) is a bit misleading. Has some funny lines here and there tho....mainly near the beginning (which is where a lot of this trailer takes place).

That's why it's a dark comedy. I thought it was pretty funny and sad. Overall a great movie.

Mock Orange - Song in D
Just finished the movie and found it surprisingly enjoyable. The characters were unlikable for a while, and I thought it would end up being as bad a Greenberg, but I ended up enjoying the characters and all their complexities. Its certainly not funny, but its a very good movie.

I liked the movie but the ending for the girl was ambiguous. I doubt the girl will continue her relatipnship with Peter. She fell in love with Caleb so wether Peter knows Caleb slept with his girfriend or not, in the end Caleb ruined Peter's relationship. It's like the movie didn't want to address the female's perspective nor feelings in the matter, so it gave us an ending where we're supposed to think a young, attractive girl that just found out what passion and love are, will settle into old, boring Peter. Very unlikely. The spark between her and Caleb is there and it will always be there, therefore, her relationship with Peter is doomed.
That's exactly the issue with it - the movie isn't interested in how she actually felt about any of that. Adam Scott was brilliant and there was some great character writing, I just wish she'd actually gotten a chance to be a character too.

@UhMarisaBayless Yeah. I want to recommend this movie to people but I can't find a good trailer for them to see. This one makes it look like a comedy and there's another one that just...doesn't get the feeling across.

What i hate about this film is that, the dialogues of Caleb were almost full of F words! It's sick to always hear it like, does the writer can't think of any words or sentences to put on. Or is it because it's just the way the writer wants the character of Caleb to appear in this film. I like the movie though....

@mitre178 its really funny, but i think its more in the vein of a drama then anything. its better not knowing much, just go in with what you got from this trailer because the film will be like a sucker punch to your senses.
He love his brother, wants him to stay away from whor** , didn't want someone to break his heart & still f**k his brother's girlfriend, it ain't making any sense.
