- Had someone ask me about this so I thought I'd better upload it now rather than waiting for a higher quality version to pop up.
This commercial used to be accessible via the official website for the toy in both MOV and AVI format, but since most of it was in Flash, it didn't get archived. However, the videos had at one point been uploaded to YodaJeff.com (alongside the manual + other info about the toy), but something had led to its creator removing all videos throughout the site to "redesign" the pages they were hosted on. Luckily, the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine had archived the site in its early years and attempted to preserve both video files.
The MOV version of the commercial had thankfully been archived in full (since it was only 536KB in size), but the AVI version had come out corrupt. At the time they were archived (Sep. 25, 2000) there was a bug/limitation in the file archiving script that would cause file archiving to abort if the file went over 1MB in size. Given that the AVI version came in at 3.17MB, the full archive had failed and only left a file exactly 1MB in size containing the first 10 seconds of the commercial.
This cut contains the first 10 seconds of the AVI version, followed by the remainder of the commercial from the MOV version. While both were at 120p resolution and have roughly the same video quality, you can hear the audio quality drop significantly when it switches to the MOV at 0:10. Hopefully a higher quality VHS recording will surface at some point, but this does the job for now.
