- Piper went to the vet for an ultrasound 30 days after breeding and we were told that she wasnt pregnant! She started acting more tired, nipples get more developed so we took her back 3 weeks later and found out she was pregnant!

I can honestly say being in the guardian program has been amazing! I love Piper and Pudge so much.
Erin and her family keep me updated all the time! I probably text her 10 times a day. She always responds back with pictures or a reassuring message. They are the best breeder I’ve seen. Their home is beautiful and each mama has a room to themselves. They are constantly loving on the puppies and the mamas. Not only that, they let me come see piper whenever I ask. The house is SPOTLESS and a warm welcome home feeling when I come over. They feel like my family. That’s the way it should feel❤ They treat Piper so well!

Just went through the exact same thing with my female Boxer. Took her for her one month exam, and the vet said no puppies. But finally three weeks later, I took her back in, and he thought there was only one puppy via x-ray. But then she went into labor, water broke, no puppy and bleeding. Took her back to the vet for an emergency c-section, and voila, there were two puppies! Healthy and happy boys, thankfully.
Oh I am so glad everyone was ok! Wow! Congrats!

Hearing her cry made me cry. She must be sore from the surgery. I was heartbroken after having my dog spayed. She literally cried for 3 days. I slept on the floor beside her. I even had a go at the vet saying they should have told me she would be in so much pain. He replied, laughing, saying my furbaby is a bit of a drama queen and assured me she'd be fine. Look forward to seeing Piper heal and bond with her special boy.
Oh that is funny, dogs do have different personalities. Some are more dramatic for sure or vocal! Haha. I’m glad your baby is fully recovered . Piper is doing amazing now too!

Welcome little baby! What a sweet, albeit stressful, surprise!! My dogs have always fussed and been clingy after surgeries, hard for them to understand what has happened for sure. Keeping close and offering reassurance and routine always helps… and of course their favorite foods/treats when they feel like eating! Will look forward to this little guys progress reports! I would suggest keeping an eye on the pup too, because with c sections the pup gets the anesthesia as well!! Congratulations on a single birth that’s amazing I’ve only heard of that in smaller breeds!! Merry Christmas from The Bahamas

Stumbled upon your channel today and of course had to binge watch!! Love your vids and all the adorable puppies. Thank you for giving breeders a good name! A couple questions for you…both of my dogs (one passed away at 16 and my other one is a puppy) had their dewclaws removed, do you have your dewclaws removed? I never met the breeders of my dogs but do you think it’s safe to assume they were reputable breeders who cared because they did that? Thanks for helping me with these questions that I’ve been wondering about!!
We actually don’t remove dew claws. We stopped doing that a while ago. There wasn’t enough evidence to support it.

Poodles and the way they are shaped can be pretty good at hiding pups, especially if they are having singletons and super "square". They can carry high and into the ribcage and not ever show or not show till the last minute. I guess some doodles have inherited it.

My 11 year old French bulldog, Gabrielle, just had oral surgery. She fights anesthesia. It's a 2 hour drive from the oral surgeon home and she tried with all her might to sit up all the way home. Her head would fall and she'd spring right back up again. She continued doing that all night until the anesthesia finally wore off. 🙄🤗🥰

Our vet said our Kensi had atleast 6 possibly more. She ended up having 8 but 1 was still born.

@@DoodlesofNC yes and I cried uncontrollably after doing everything I could to get her breathing. It is the hardest part. But the other 7 are at 5 days old chunky little monkeys and gaining weight every day. When we decide to keep a puppy we also test their coat properties as we since we have multigenerational puppies. We keep the puppy that has proper coat and furnishings genes. My son and his family are getting the chocolate and white parti girl so will still have a puppy I can visit with.

No, they are with their families from 8 weeks on. So it’s really easy for them to go to their families.

Great question!, The singleton does not bother me, or the C-section as long as she heals nicely. I think that our artificial insemination at this particular that was subpar, and we are asking our current vet to take over Because we have missed a couple of pregnancies utilizing them.

Quick question: you mention sending some of the dogs home, but still having their puppies..." How old are they, and why send the mamas home before the puppies go to homes?
I'm a total novice, and just got told by our vet today to try and have our puppies in homes at around 8 weeks, so just trying to learn more about how some actual breeders do things.
Hello! We can’t have that many moms at our house when they are weaning, they need more space and the moms can’t go in others areas. So Bella is our socializer. They get all the attention a mother would give without them having to get scratched and bitten while weaning them. If they are staying with you I would recommend a nursing shirt or a protective surgery outfit so puppies can’t get to their breasts.
@@DoodlesofNC Ah, I see! Thank you, that was very informative! We have a litter of six. Our girl has nursed them well, but now only does so a few times a day to supplement/as she desires. She has no qualms leaving them to their own devices unless they need a bit of milk. Yes, I felt aweful at all the scratching they were starting to do before they started eating more food.
We have expanded the their area so they have a distinct potty and food area versus play/sleep. It's only just gone up today, but they've already figured it out quite well aside from the littlest one who's still a bit hesitant to get over the small divider piece. It will be interesting to see what sleep side versus potty side look like when we wake up tomorrow ...
I’m not really a fan of ultrasounds for that reason I had a Rottweiler I bred the Repro vet only saw 5 puppies swore that was all she was having then we did the x-ray a couple of days before she whelped saw 10 possibly 11 puppies she went on to have 18 big healthy puppies!!! Because of her big broad chest she held some up higher and tucked away 😅 after that I just wait for x-rays and confirm pregnancy myself at home with a doppler
Yes ultrasounds for us are only to confirm pregnancy! Not an official count. The X-rays are so helpful! I can’t believe your mom had 18!!!! That is insane in a good way! I’m glad everyone was so healthy.

That's ridiculous to give her a csection. Those vets are raking in the money for sure. She would of gone into labor, the only issue with singleton is if baby grew to big, then you do c section in emergency situation. It's not true they just don't go into labor. Labor just doesn't always progress

Hello! Singletons came happen for a variety of reasons, she’s definitely not to old, she’s 2, it was fresh sperm not frozen, genetic diseases have been accounted for but the Artificial insemination is questionable. So we have decided to try more naturals using a stand for our standards! We will keep everyone posted on the success rate!

We do, but if your talking about the little puppies they get in the food and water and get all scruffy looking. We can’t give them a bath every day. It would dry out their skin. Thanks for watching

I just wish breeders didn’t breed dogs period. Statistically speaking, 30 percent of the dogs in shelters and rescues are pure breed breeds. It’s just horrible.
