    • @lambda7652
      @lambda7652 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

They do, but its sold under a different brand and named UMC202HD.
But its uses the same ADC/DAC and is internally very suspiciously similar to the scarlet.

@@lambda7652 it's bhringer. Prob just a rip of the 2i2. I bet they could sell the solo for around 50 and still make a profit. Its strange cuz focusrite is a well known budget brand name so you'd think they would want to show that

I have the M-Track Duo and I don't have the gain problem at the very end--it's a consistent increase. I also like how quiet the preamps are relative to many others. However, due to the sample rate, I am going to upgrade at some point. I really enjoy your in-depth reviews and humor. Thanks for doing this video.

I bought one (used) today for £23, so got the December 2023 drivers; the input settings in Windows are now offering 16/24/32-bit, all at 48Khz. The input gain dial is giving me a massive leap between 9-10, so I doubt I'd turn up that far with no clip protection.
I wish they'd put a simple limiter in the firmware, my Tascam DR70 field recorder has a limiter on all 4 channels.

I am not very technical but so far so good, because it does what I need without making my life very difficult. In my house there are much more expensive and very complex interfaces, but I will stick with this one. I just don't understand what the first knob on the left is for. The one on the far right I suppose is to connect to a speaker? What I find difficult is to keep an eye on weather the sound is clipping when I sing (I do sing quite loud when I sing very high notes).

CAN ANYONE HELP? I just bought the M-Track Solo to be able to connect my Rode NTG-1 and record voice-overs.
I thought it would be a cheaper solution than buying the Rode NT mini, allowing me to to use the Mic I already use on my camera. The problem is that unless I'm literally at 1 cm from the mic, the volumes extremely low... (no waveforms visible in Final Cut Pro).. even with the Gain knob turned up to 8... I was expecting that my NTG-1 could perform just like it does when connected to my Sony FX3.. where it can pick up a dialogue at several meters of distance without problem,.. Is there something I'm missing ? I have the Phantom power turner on obviously.. but it doesn't help. Thanks to anyone who could help me out.

I just received this. I'm using it with the Samson Q2U. When I monitor the interface with my IEMs I hear a lot of white noise even with the microphone unplugged. When I plug my IEMs directly into my macbook m1 air there is no noise. This white noise happened when my Q2U was connected to my macbook also. Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to figure out how to get rid of this white noise!

I have the Scarlett (24 bit) on the booth PC. This will make a good AUX recorder in the den. I'll hopefully avoid the gain-bump. If not, I have a low-noise preamp to dodge the jumpiness. I finally gave up hoping for a low-noise xlr-usb cable..this is the ticket. Thanks for the details. The ultra-low-noise info comes from Julian. Together you guys give the whole picture.

I want to sample stuff from YT or even a discman. I don't want to do anything illegal,as i don't intend to sell music. I want to have fun.
I used MPC Beats software, and when I try to sample, directly from the computer, like YT on chrome the audio is very bad or it just doesn't work sometimes.will this help me?

Hey man, I am using old M AUdio fast track and I witness some random screetches / noises when playing the content, music, on the web. I have feeling it started with W10 (got it for more than ten years I guess?) I wonder if this new would be ok. Using unshield Tannoy Reveals with phones output from the card 3,5 jack of 5m long cable. Problem does ot occur if put in PC sound outputs. Thanks all for advices.

I'm trying to find an interface compatible with portable Android devices and nobody wants to give me clear answers. Alot of interfaces work with Apple smartphones and ipads such as focusrite etc. Some work on android to capture audio. But what i want to do is multitracking on Android. And now there are FL studios, Cubasis3, Roland Ztrack ,Bandlab for android. I'm wondering which interface would be compatible with my new Galaxy Tab S7 through its Type C port. I asked this and nobody gives me clear answers, even on the software sites. Focusrite answered me it wasn't compatible for this. And finally only one guy i came accross on the internet said the only device that worked for him was the older m-audio m track plugged directly into his android smartphone and it works. I'm wondering if this newer m audiosolo would work.

This interface is horrible. Every time you load a plug-in, the driver disconnects. Bought for my 6 year old for Christmas. I returned it and got a beringer umc22, that one is MUCH better

I bought the M-Track Solo to use with a microphone for streaming, but I can't get it set up properly in windows 10.
    I installed Driver 1.0.3 (64-bit)
In the Windows Sound control panel the interface is named "Line 1/2", the sample rate options are:
    2 channel 16 bit, 44100 Hz
    2 channel 24 bit, 44100 Hz
    2 channel 32 bit, 44100 Hz
In the Control utility that the driver installed on my PC there are exactly 2 options
"Preferred Buffer Size" which is a slider ranging from 16 - 2048. No info about latency or anything else
"Streaming sample rate" Which is a greyed-out drop down box that is permanently set to 44100.
There's no way to set the device to 48000 Hz, and I doubt the 24/32 bit options are actually working. I also can't find a way for the microphone to actually work as single channel or mono, it will only output on the left channel. I can't find any driver/windows way to fix that problem and equalizing the sound in editing after I record it is not an option, because I'm not making a recording.
There is something broken with these drivers. Absolutely do not buy this if you use windows.
Edit: this interface's driver randomly and very often resets its setting to "32-bit", which produces unusable audio. Sometimes it happens in between takes. I've lost too much work. This thing is a project killer.

I really like this interface. I just got mine yesterday after watching this video. The latency is really really good And everything works nice and proper. Very solid output for my main speakers, it all seems really great. I had another $50 interface fifine amazon, it was even properly specced for Line In Guitar, it was buzzy, didnt have any software and had 17ms of latency at a 0 Block Size. Same price and the M Audio is a HUGE step up, highly recommend.

      Upgrades and options
Typically if you buy a USB mic, if you want to upgrade later down the line, you have to spend just as much money, if not more to get something better, even if only but a small fraction.
XLR’s allow you to interchange options pretty quickly and sound so much more better, especially if you understand the science behind it all. XLR isn’t cheap though and that is one of its down falls, but you need to remember that you are paying for studio quality sound, at least in the mic itself. Not to mention if your trying to do multiple person recording in the same room with their own mic, USB is simply not an option

My personal preference for mic on the low end is AT2005USB. It’s a hybrid which allows for good upgrades and makes them slightly cheaper. However there’s a lot of considerations. Desk/room real estate and your voice. It often made me sound nasally which isn’t always a good thing. If you just want it for chats, I recommend something cheap, but if your planning on using it for content, you have to do your research. I don’t know your voice so I can’t give a good recommendation

BTW, maybe lower computer sound while monitoring “it’s not a bug it’s a feature”, so you could hear monitored signal louder? :)
