I love the Molotow markers. Lobster is my go-to color for sketchbook work and highlights. It reminds me of the old plate-correction opaque paint we had to use in graphic arts during the printing plate burning process. I opened an old pencil pouch that I misplaced in a move 9 years ago and my opened and partial Lobster was still fresh as day 1! Totally impressed with their system!

I miss the lockdown days when you would do videos, around your studio and gardens. Your visit to your mother home, or a trip out with Dominic finding wonderful artists shops and precious gem buy. So many shopping haul for your art materials is extremely expensive for self employed incomes. I really enjoy your shopping supporting local artists, could you do some more videos on artists you like. Thank you for your stunning paintings and videos. 🧡🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴💛🦋
I agree! I actually filmed a bit during one of our recent outings for an upcoming vlog I'm putting together. I uploaded a studio tour today as well! It's not all art hauls and swatching! ;) I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. Thank you for watching!
Love the long videos! Also the neoclolours are gorgeous, they're able to do so many different effects, it's almost like mixed media. They do really nice things when i draw them on wet washes, which almost makes more permanent lines somehow
OOOOooooo i see this is a long one that you're spoiling us with. Tomorrow is my day off, so will savour this and going to watch this. I have my eye on the Maimeri Blu, i have to try the single pigment that your viewer mentioned. think its a turquoise Have a lovely week Natasha
Trance inducing video of the best kind, soothing, relaxing. Totally sympathize and celebrate around the internet speed. I live in a place with no broadband, just get our signal off the one cell tower that drops our speed after a certain amount of data usage. Thank goodness for my phone's hot spot so I can watch videos like yours. Makes me want to go swatch all my color pencils and Neo IIs and such.
So glad to know about the Molotow markers. I like the colors available in the Sennelier abstract acrylic ink line, so I tried filling a few empty Montana markers with my favorite colors. They work great, but the combo is pricey. The markers are refillable, and that’s always a bonus in my book.
A sunday swatching session, pure ASMR bliss!!!. So glad you are trying the Molotow markers,I love these and have used them for a while now, perfect for layering in mixed media, they do a liquid chrome marker that lives up to it's name that is one of my favourite metallics and they do a gold that has the same finish. The very first professional quality gouache I used years ago was actually Maimeri and it's still one I love and use now. I think it's okay to allow yourself to by the Maimeri green gold, and the fact this one is a sigle pigment colour makes it a good addition to your green's palette,it is a great colour and a great mixing colour. As always you have chosen amazing colours in this haul and they all work so well together as you swatch them. I get a lot of handmade papers from Etsy too for making my own sketchbooks. It's like spending time with an artist friend and hearing their insights and inspirations with all the fantastic new colours and mediums they have purchased. You are deinitly becoming more of a mixed media artist and it's so nice to see this evolution in your amazing artwork and it'd lovely that through your videos weget to go on this journey with you. We'll all pretend you didn't say you were on a watercolour buying ban!!!. I think Schmike gouache would be a good future investment for you as well. Your love of colour and mediums really comes across in your videos and hearing about things you want to try in the future is really inspiring. And I l'm loving these longer videos too, they are so wondeful to watch and listen too that they are over way too soon!! (matt) P.s paint can be sexy!!! why not!!! I have colours that I would say could be seen in this way too!. I have yet to try acryla gouache...... I also though the first completed swatch sheet with all the colours had a really striking retro vibe to it as well.and 'Lit' is way cool!!
I'm so glad that you enjoyed this loooooong video, Matt! Spoiler alert: I ordered the Green Gold! I couldn't resist as it was such a gorgeous colour and one that I've thought of adding to my collection for a while anyway. :)
@@NatashaNewtonArt I thought you would end up ordering the Green Gold, but it is a fantastic colour and will be a great mixing colour too, sometimes we canjust see the great potential for a colour in our work,it will be a great addition to your greens palette for sure. So excited for my Flexispot desk to arrive this weekend too! I just know it will change how I work in the future,I now once the metal rods, and brace etc have been removed after my recovery from my spinal surgery, standing to work will further stengthen my spine, and I love I can have the desk at a height tht feels comfotable for me,I'm really grateful to you for inspiring me to get one. (matt) P.s check out the video and track here on youtube called "The Moon" by Morcheeba, soon as I heard it I thought of you.
Molotow has a chrome marker which is amazingly shiny. To make I’d shiny it requires a non porous surface but you can use a couple thin layer of acrylic on paper to make it non porous and it looks so cool
I am always excited to open a new Natasha video. I might be a little obsessed! I follow quite a few artists on YT. You and Gerda Lipski - two VERY different artists - are among my favorites. But you especially, Natasha, are costing me a lot. I never imagined that I would be buying colored pencils - I mean I can't even draw! So far the Polychromos are far and away my favorites. I'm impatiently awaiting the next video......................................................................................................................................
Green gold is one of my favourite colours on my palette~ I do a lot of portraits and it's great for mixing skin tones. And can create really pretty golden glow light effects. Mine's Mijello Mission Gold which I like but no idea how it compares to other brands.
From Turner, the Japanese series is indeed "gritty", though I think you'd love the colors. I really like them for painting sculptures. I support you watercolor buying ban. I think it's a good thing, and you've got already plenty of fun supplies to work with! I'm on a ban as well, 2021 has been crazy in art supplies for me.
I'm thinking of doing 'favourite art supplies' videos with the supplies I already have instead of 'art hauls' for a while, and swatching my entire collection of gouache, or acrylic etc. instead of swatching new supplies. I now have so many gorgeous art materials - and they also all have to be stored somewhere! There's a limit to how many we can have, isn't there?!
@@NatashaNewtonArt that sounds perfect. art stuff is a never ending, there is always more you could have, it one the reason I’ve not really got in to colour pencils or alcohol marker you seem to need so many more to make a reasonable palette unlike paint where you can mixing a lot of colours from a small number (which is very good for the student budget and storage space.)
Loved this vlog swatching all your new supplies I loved the look of all of them. I definitely think you should buy the green gold watercolour I should be on a art supply ban as I don’t need anymore 😂 just love your colour choices and would love to try the Caran d’ache neocolour aquarelle. Xx
I’m sure someone else has mentioned but it is the Turner Japaneque gouache paints that are gritty. I’m more of a s watcher than a painter but I much prefer the look of the Japanesque one, and they are a much more muted and beautiful palette IMO
The colours in the Japanesque line are so beautiful, but I'm a little concerned about the grittier texture. I'm not sure whether I'd love it or hate it!
We will allow you to get the green gold! Lol Also I don’t know if you know but with the neocolor II you can mix them in the dry state then you can add water to get the new color. I also really enjoy that you can use light pressure and get a light wash when adding water and layer a lot of the color for a darker color. I am glad you are trying them!
Ah, thanks Emily! ;) I think the ban may have to come into effect after I've purchased the Green Gold! Thanks for the Neocolor II tips - I will experiment!
I have Fineliners from Molotow - since 2019. They are still good to use, did not fray or dry up. They were not as expensive as other fineliner brands (but to be fair, they are made in germany and I am in germany so maybe the price in other countries is higher). I use them quite often (but not daily) and did not have to refill them for more than one year. I recommend them very much.
They're great quality markers in such interesting colours! I have to say, I am very impressed with all of my art supplies that are made in Germany. The quality and attention to detail is impressive. :)
I do really like a mix of long and shorter videos. By shorter I mean around 15 -20 mins. Shorter than that isn't very helpful to me. Thanks so much for your videos. I enjoy them!
Made it to the end! I love long videos, I listen to them when I edit photos and videos... It's so relaxing! Can't wait to see your studio tour because I've been wondering where and how you store all your art supplies...
Another fantastic video. I would be curious to see how lightfast the Maimeri Blu Artist Watercolors actually are. You know, in case they're another Daniel Smith Prussian Green with "Excellent" lightfastness. lol. The Vivianite Blue Ochre is perfection.
Again... Thank you. Wonderful one hour of inspiration and new ideas. I´m excited to hear your opinion on Turner´s acrylic gouache compared to Holbein´s.
Have you ever tried the Derwent Inktense Payne's Grey? I got a selection of colors a couple months ago and it's my favorite of the bunch. They're all beautiful though. They also have a white pencil that works nicely on black paper, especially for base sketching and laying down moderate to subtle light values.
For green gold just mix nickel azo yellow and phalogreen bs and you have green gold. I love the Molotow markers very much and colored pencils but the NeocolorII are a new media to me and I look forward to using them. Can’t wait to see what you make.
Loved this..... and I sat here working on my next project whilst watching and listening to you on our big tv! I'm not going to apologise for saying I wish it was longer! 😂 I'm so pleased you got super fast broadband and that it will be easier for you to upload your videos! Looking forward to your next to see what you've done in your studio 😁 I'm holding on to those pastel pencils to see if you want them. If you don't can you let me know as I will try selling instead 😁 Thanks for all your wonderful content 🥰
I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video (and wish it was longer!). Thank you so much for your offer of the pastel pencils. I actually bought some a year ago and haven't really used them yet as they were very dusty (I LOVED the colours though!) and I need to figure out a way of incorporating them into my work, so I will have to decline your kind offer. Thank you so much for thinking of me, and I hope you're able to sell them and make a little money! x

Heya. I like art supply hauls and long walks on the beach....I post all mine on twitter and tiktok but I dont think anybody but youtubers enjoy that sort of thing
The first several 6 or so colors you swatch really give me south western (USA) sort of Texas, Arizona, “Plains Nation” Native American vibes. I would LOVE to see you do pieces with these in that style or theme for landscapes, jewelry, feathers, native artwork. All kinds of stuff. Even like those big south western blankets they have with the different layers of colors, stripes, and shapes. It would be just absolutely beautiful. Perhaps with a love sly turquoise, cactus green, bright tangerine orange, corally pinks, and vibrant sandy/lemon yellows has accent colors. I don’t know if these are things you are familiar with as much in the UK (apologies for my lack of historical knowledge) but truly I could see you truly doing this style justice especially in your landscapes. I would seriously be invested to see you do a little research and make a solid few efforts at showing us your interpretation. I know it would be just breathtaking in your particular “style”. You inspire me so so much. I’ve been drawing like crazy. I can’t wait to save for my first paints to start learning and practicing. Thank you! Much love from PA, USA. 🖤🤍

That's lovely to hear, thank you for watching and enjoying!
I love your swatch videos! You truly inspire me so much!! I've been sick for 15 days now and slowly recovering so I'm thankful for these videos. I can't wait to have the strength to do art again. Thank you, Natasha! Love ya girl
I really hope you're feeling better by now (I'm sorry I'm so late in replying to this - I'm really behind with the comments!). I can truly empathise with you, having been ill throughout most of July and unable to work. I just couldn't wait to feel well enough to draw and paint again! Sending lots of good, healing vibes your way. xx
@@NatashaNewtonArt Aww bless you sweet Natasha. I remember you sharing how sick you were too. I've been back at it myself. Thank you for your kind response. Many blessings to you
You made my day. Can't get too long swatch videos. Next time, can you show how the Faber-Castell watercolor markers behave with water?
Oh yes, I keep meaning to try this! Someone else mentioned it the other day too.
I know how hard it is to talk continuously for 90 minutes, but I so appreciate this style of episode. ❤️
I'm so pleased that you enjoy these videos, thanks for watching!
I love your videos! I love very long swatching videos! I recently found yours. They are so relaxing with your voice. Thank you💖🌟😊
Thank you so much, Nikkie! I'm so pleased that you enjoy them. :)
My first out loud reaction was 'ohh such a long one!' So nice!
Thank you for watching!
I really like this kind of long chatting video!!! And today is my first day of back to school, this video helps me a lot lol!
That's nice to hear, thank you! And I hope your first day back at school went well. :)
I'm going to try this - thank you!
OOOOooooo i see this is a long one that you're spoiling us with. Tomorrow is my day off, so will savour this and going to watch this. I have my eye on the Maimeri Blu, i have to try the single pigment that your viewer mentioned. think its a turquoise
Have a lovely week Natasha
Trance inducing video of the best kind, soothing, relaxing. Totally sympathize and celebrate around the internet speed. I live in a place with no broadband, just get our signal off the one cell tower that drops our speed after a certain amount of data usage. Thank goodness for my phone's hot spot so I can watch videos like yours. Makes me want to go swatch all my color pencils and Neo IIs and such.
Thank you, Paula! I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. Yay for your phone's hotspot!
So glad to know about the Molotow markers. I like the colors available in the Sennelier abstract acrylic ink line, so I tried filling a few empty Montana markers with my favorite colors. They work great, but the combo is pricey. The markers are refillable, and that’s always a bonus in my book.
I keep meaning to try the Montana markers so that I can mix up my own colours - actually, that might make a good video!
@@NatashaNewtonArt definitely!
Enjoyed this, and seeing the similar colours together even though they were different materials was super interesting too💗
Thanks Leah! Lots of different materials in this one. :) x
(matt)
P.s paint can be sexy!!!
(matt)
P.s check out the video and track here on youtube called "The Moon" by Morcheeba, soon as I heard it I thought of you.
Molotow has a chrome marker which is amazingly shiny. To make I’d shiny it requires a non porous surface but you can use a couple thin layer of acrylic on paper to make it non porous and it looks so cool
Great video, enjoyed it all and it was relaxing. It is nice to see swatches of supplies I may not have yet, too.
So glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
This is an absolutely perfect video. Thank you so much.
So glad you liked it, Molly!
The Maimeri dot card palette is similar to the QoR high chroma set. Gorgeous!
I adore long videos 💝
I am always excited to open a new Natasha video. I might be a little obsessed! I follow quite a few artists on YT. You and Gerda Lipski - two VERY different artists - are among my favorites. But you especially, Natasha, are costing me a lot. I never imagined that I would be buying colored pencils - I mean I can't even draw! So far the Polychromos are far and away my favorites. I'm impatiently awaiting the next video......................................................................................................................................
This is SO lovely to hear, thank you Sharon! The Polychromos are beautiful pencils - they have some amazing colours in the range too.
Green gold is one of my favourite colours on my palette~ I do a lot of portraits and it's great for mixing skin tones. And can create really pretty golden glow light effects. Mine's Mijello Mission Gold which I like but no idea how it compares to other brands.
I will probably get the Green Gold and then impose a ban on buying watercolours for the foreseeable future! ;)
@@NatashaNewtonArt absolutely! and I find it gets overwhelming when we have too much! I like the idea of "favorite art supplies"!
This is perfect watching for my hangover Sunday haha thank you !
You're welcome, I hope you felt less hungover afterwards!
I enjoy all videos long and short :)
Oh~~~ so awesome art stuff. So interesting!! :) thank you for sharing 👩🎨
Thank you!
The maimeri blue Payne's Gray looks so much like the ds sodalite "genuine"... It's beautiful!! 💙
It really does!
Loved this vlog swatching all your new supplies I loved the look of all of them. I definitely think you should buy the green gold watercolour I should be on a art supply ban as I don’t need anymore 😂 just love your colour choices and would love to try the Caran d’ache neocolour aquarelle. Xx
So satisfying
I’m sure someone else has mentioned but it is the Turner Japaneque gouache paints that are gritty. I’m more of a s watcher than a painter but I much prefer the look of the Japanesque one, and they are a much more muted and beautiful palette IMO
The colours in the Japanesque line are so beautiful, but I'm a little concerned about the grittier texture. I'm not sure whether I'd love it or hate it!
We will allow you to get the green gold! Lol
Also I don’t know if you know but with the neocolor II you can mix them in the dry state then you can add water to get the new color. I also really enjoy that you can use light pressure and get a light wash when adding water and layer a lot of the color for a darker color. I am glad you are trying them!
Ah, thanks Emily! ;) I think the ban may have to come into effect after I've purchased the Green Gold! Thanks for the Neocolor II tips - I will experiment!
love this long swatching video session
Thanks Laura!
I loveeee green gold, only tryed the Rembrandt one so far. Its called azomethine yellow green. And i love it!
Wow, those molotows. I like how they dry. They don't look chalky like Poscas do sometimes. Thankyou again for inspiring ! Take care!
I absolutely love them, I'm so excited to use them in my work!
Thanks for watching (or listening!). ;) I'm looking forward to sharing the studio tour and the adjustments I've recently made to my workspace.
Loved the swatching session. I bought a couple of the neon 2 crayons to try them out. I'm anxious to see how you'll use yours.
I'll be sure to share how I'm using them in my work! Very impressed with them so far. They're so pigmented. :)
Another fantastic video. I would be curious to see how lightfast the Maimeri Blu Artist Watercolors actually are. You know, in case they're another Daniel Smith Prussian Green with "Excellent" lightfastness. lol. The Vivianite Blue Ochre is perfection.
This was very appreciated. I cannot afford all these paints so it's useful to choose the correct material I need. Thank you very much.
I'm so glad it was helpful, Nicole!
Loved it … all of it 🥰
Thanks Laura!
Again... Thank you. Wonderful one hour of inspiration and new ideas. I´m excited to hear your opinion on Turner´s acrylic gouache compared to Holbein´s.
My first impressions were very good - I love the smooth, flowing consistency!
Perfect vid 🤗 love your long swatch vids … Thank you for sharing…
Thank you - I'm so glad you enjoy them!
Have you ever tried the Derwent Inktense Payne's Grey? I got a selection of colors a couple months ago and it's my favorite of the bunch. They're all beautiful though. They also have a white pencil that works nicely on black paper, especially for base sketching and laying down moderate to subtle light values.
I have this one (I only own three Derwent Inktense pencils but the Payne's Grey is one of them!) and I love it.
Love this long video Natasha.
Thank you!
Loved it, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it, Linda! Thanks. :)
The Lumi Rose probably has phosphors in it. Great for Geraniums.
Loved it very much! 👏🏻
Thank you!
Ugh that delft blue also is a watercolor and I’ve been absolutely dying to get my hands on 😖
It's such a beautiful deep colour.
For green gold just mix nickel azo yellow and phalogreen bs and you have green gold. I love the Molotow markers very much and colored pencils but the NeocolorII are a new media to me and I look forward to using them. Can’t wait to see what you make.
Thanks Jennie! I have Phthalo Green BS but not Nickel Azo Yellow. Spoiler alert: I ordered the Green Gold! ;)
I did it again. To the end. I usually prefef 30 minutes or less but don't mind watching occasional longer videos.
Thank you for watching!
Budget green gold: Van Gogh's Azo Yellow Green. It's a lovely in-between DS Rich Green Gold and Green Gold! At most it's like $4 US
Thank you!
Great, more things to add to my cart! 😅
fun video.. thanks
Thanks for watching!
Loved this..... and I sat here working on my next project whilst watching and listening to you on our big tv! I'm not going to apologise for saying I wish it was longer! 😂 I'm so pleased you got super fast broadband and that it will be easier for you to upload your videos! Looking forward to your next to see what you've done in your studio 😁
I'm holding on to those pastel pencils to see if you want them.
Thank you so much for thinking of me, and I hope you're able to sell them and make a little money! x
Hi! Just a tip, you should try to put water on the faber castell watercolour markers, they work very well that way too! :)
I need to try that, thanks!
I really love this art swatching videos. 2:57 it's peer-ròlo (stress on the first "o" and the "rr" is vibrating), anyway your pronunciation is adorable.
Ahhh, thanks Marina! I knew I was pronouncing it incorrectly. 😆
Cant find it again but what was the name of the other channel you mentioned?
Kriksis!
Hello! :)
I had the full set of Molotow markers - loved the colour and texture but ended up selling them. Got tired of the colour separation of the acrylic paint and all the shaking/pumping!
It does seem that some colours separate more than others, but I love these markers so much! ;)
i love the muted colors! that beige molotov i woke up i had chemo friday and pretty much slept 48 hours woke up and watched this video thank you it calmed me down as i woke up really anxious now i feel calmer and now i have to spend more $ imayve i'm going to attempt to make markers out of an acrylic set of paints called 12 shades of grey u need them if i can get them i bought them here in the us at jerrys artarama they're so pretty and very much natasha colors
I'm so glad that the video helped you to feel less anxious, Deborah. The idea of making markers sounds like fun! And the 12 shades of grey sound lovely. :)
i got such a good deal on crayola marker maker kits , they come with 16 marker sets and are working great with liquified acrylic paint work perfectly once you have the liquid to paint ratio i got 7 boxes of 16 for 35$ still using my acrylic paint markers obviously but so inexpensive and i'm having a blast feel like a kid playing with the markers
That sounds like fun!
How do you use the neo colors?
I tend to use them for layering over gouache or watercolour, adding marks and texture.
Yes, I watched to the end as I wouldn’t want to miss a second of your videos! Thank you for sharing the swatching of your recent haul plus the Molotov acrylic markers. I liked them all but I was very surprised by how much I liked the MaimeriBlu watercolors! The colors are beautiful! How do they create one pigment colors? I can imagine there are quite expensive….but worth it. Now I think you are buying so many oranges is because you have been bitten by the Great 🎃 Pumpkin! I feel you should try to cure it by buying the GreenGold MaimeriBlu. If you feel guilty about buying it, then ask Jackson’s to send you 50 free dot cards.😊
Wow, I didn't even realise it was an hour long until I reached the end. Very relaxing!
P.S. I think you should get the green gold watercolour and THEN start the ban...
I'm very tempted to do that! ;)
This video popped up on my feed so this is the first I've seen from your channel. Will finish this video and definitely check out more.
P.S. I don't know if you've tried M. Graham Nickle Azo Green but it's a gorgeous color similar to Green Gold. Just has more glow somehow. I haven't compared Maimeri blu and M.Graham but you know you can't go wrong with either of those companies. It's a good one to break the rules.
Thank you! I hope that you've enjoyed some of the other videos if you've had a chance to watch them. :) I haven't tried M. Graham's Nickel Azo Green and I must confess that I did in fact order the MaimeriBlu Green Gold a few days ago! I just fell in love with the swatch from the dot card.
OMG YASS
I'm about to play a very inebriated Pokemon Unite gaming sesh with my boyfriend BUT when we're DONE... I am SO ready to bust out my jelly gouache and get some work done on that birthday piece for him lol. I wanna work while watching and listening to you a-swatchy-swatch!
Ha ha, you sound like you're having a fun time! 😂
Its been a year since you posted this, but I am in love, love, love with your palette!
Thank you!
