    Thank you, this video will save my trouble with my car, need to replace wheel cylinder and i never put my hands on a drum brake, this was an amazing video and made me much more confident!!

    I didn't the same thing on my jetta 95. But now my pedal brake is to soft and goes down don't brake properly. What can I do?

    Does the bolts inside car for handbrake need to be relace when changing the brake shoes

      Yes, if necessary it is recommended to be replaced.

    You do not mention that, if you want to put the drum back to its place, you have to make the brake pad adjustment with that small piece what we can see at 5:49. I was struggling with it for a half an hour. But still a useful video..

    It looks like exactly what i have done but my drum only goes 50% on before it jams on the shoes. Even after doing drums for a year in total combined probably this vag shit is ruining my head. (The console is out and the cables on the ebrake is slack) what else? New brakecylinder looks like the old but can it be wrong Ø19.05 it says on the "tin"? It's sadly nothing like the good old 69 Malibu 😑

    Only in ideal world ( in case of unadjusted brakes) you can get the Golf III brake drum off so easily. Pulling it off using force can also cause brakes to jam later as I have already learned. To see how the brake pads should be released watch video: th-cam.com/video/IPIPDsawQp8/w-d-xo.html And yes, it is much better idea to replace springs too.
