Hi guys! Let me know what you think of the video below☺️ ⏰TIME STAMPS: 0:00 How to give your home a modern farmhouse look 1:00 History of farmhouse style 2:05 Modern farmhouse moodboard 2:31 Farmhouse architecture design 6:08 Modern farmhouse materials 7:24 Modern farmhouse home decor 7:56 Modern farmhouse lighting fixtures 9:06 Top decorating tips for a farmhouse And as usual, you can shop the video in the description🛍️ I absolutely love the farmhouse style, what's your favourite thing about it?⬇️
I absolutely love your perspectives, I feel like we hear a lot of how American/Canadian TH-cam thinks ("No barn doors! No cafe curtains ever!") so it's refreshing to hear your take from across the pond.
My wife and I are having a modern farmhouse built (to be completed Oct 2022) and we have been struggling in the design studio. This is a very helpful video.
I am moving soon to farmhouse built in 2003, farm included, in a couple months, and this video provides very tasteful ideas, especially with combining some older furniture we have so as not to break the bank. We also hope to build a Scandi-farmhouse-inspired home on the lake to retire in. I have not been a fan of putting any timbers on the ceiling, but I might rethink that.
Hi Darling, sorry I've only spotted this now! Are you there now? All settled in? 🤗 Thank you so much for your kind words💗 I always dreamed of summers on an American lake (don't really have such in the UK- lakehouses I mean). My dream one is Eugene Levy's in cheaper by the dozen 2 😆 I think it was filmed in Canada, Muskoka area. Hope you're well 🙏💗
You really make sense of the style. The window and lighting suggestions are particularly useful. I have a rural cottage with a slate fireplace, but I truly don't want to hang a tv over it, as gazing into the fire is so meditative and romantic. I have a live-edge wood barn door and it's the most admired feature of the place!🐷
Absolutely agree- a classic fireplace should never be modernized with a TV. A roaring fire is much more mesmerising 🪵🔥 Your cottage sounds lovely btw! 🤗
🐮 Thanks D&B, some inspiring imagery & love the contemporary farm-house style. I once saw the farmhouse sliding door at a property on Trelawney Rd in Falmouth 😂
Loved this! I really like farmhouses for their brick work and rustic, natural feel, but struggled to envisage mixing it with my preferred style, which is more of a modern classic minimalist mashup. It’s encouraging to see that there are ways for them to complement each other. 🐷🐔🦔🐇
Yes minimal barn sliding door is fine, I think a thin barn door would be nice to hide a built in bar. Seen it before hope this make sense what I am saying. I have a cottage style home and I decorate it in a eclectic vibe but not over the top. My walls are not wildly colored but my artwork is lol. 🐔
In my mind, farmhouse is a very American style based on farmhouses and old wooden barns in the USA. It's related to but has a different look than English country or French country looks.
We do offer online design services if you're really interested (look at website in our description and contact us if interested ) :D But yes 50/50 of both styles is perfect- glad you enjoyed the video :)

Hi. I love your channel. I live in a log home in USA, a log home is a farmhouse?
It really depends. Theres such a fine line between a barn, farmhouse & cabin. If you say logs, I would say cabin! 😁 thank you for your kind comment 🤗💓

Oh yes! 100% not the same as English or French country 😅😅
So a 50/50 mix of Farmhouse and modern, correct?
Can you fly over and do my house, lol.
