Saw them at CES this year and did a song on it. Sounded great and I was standing next to it. Seriously considering getting one since it comes with a limited subscription to Karafun, which has an incredible library. Could really see using it for parties.
I just bought one of these to add to the karaoke division of my DJ company. I am a bit bummed about the microphone delay. I was thinking it had something to do with the preset modes, but I am even hearing it in the custom mode. It is just enough to prevent this device from being perfect. I do not see an app store on mine either.
Just got this yesterday and first impressions after using/playing it for about 4 hours is…3 out 5. The speaker sounds beautiful! For the size, this is not a big system about the size of a Sony Boom Box (sounds much better than the Sony). Now, the real negative-so far-the tablet! Wow! It is so slow, it’s froze on me several times, it’s slow to connect and has,in the 4 hours I played with it, disconnected off the WiFi or at least the apps say it does several times. So frustrating! It’s like you’re running a tablet that you have had for years and now it’s running slow due to spyware, old OS, or old hardware, and so it runs slow! What’s happening! This is a new tablet it should be quick at least in the beginning-it’s brand new, and yes I have checked for updates. Being that this is the heart of this product, this is a major let down so far and a better tablet should have been sourced for this device. Unless it’s just mine. Next is the mics, they are okay but they sound like they often stop working??? Or disconnect briefly and then kick on when you sing?? I’m not sure but something off maybe the delay because there is a little there most often noted when sitting near the machine. I connected a wireless mic to the back and wired mic and that feature is kind of useless because the sound is too low and even at its loudest setting it’s too low, that little turning screw to increase sound sucks, too, you have to use a small flat head thing to turn it. So sadly you won’t really be using a third or fourth mic as I thought I would, my Sony Boom Box has the same thing too and it too is too low just like this one. One more thing. If you connect it to a tv via HDMI you only mirror the screen the speaker remains the source of sound. I wish this was something you could change because I would like my home speakers to output the sound and have the smaller speaker be for the singing. If somehow I could switch the tablet with an Apple tablet or a more capable android tablet maybe not such a cheap one as the one they obviously used, this would be a home run! Not sure what you could do with the mics but they are ok as is although they could have been made out of metal because they are light and plastic and one fall and I’m sure they would break. It’s a tough to recommend this karaoke machine because when the tablet does work well and keeps up with what you need it to do this things is so awesome! The sound is incredible! I will play with it some more and use it in real world situations and see if maybe it was my WiFi that was acting up last night but I doubted because all my devices worked great and I was sitting near my router so it had to be the tablet that was slow. I will keep playing with it. By the way, you can get this device cheaper at Sweetwater music online store 475.00 not on sale, strange because they claim it’s not a sale but I could not find it at that price no where else so get it there if you want it for less. Anyway, this has been my experience thus far, I hope it works better for the money it cost because right now it’s just a fantastic Bluetooth speaker and I have plenty of those. Oh by the way, it does come with karafun and when you create an account you can redeem a 6 month free subscription, a more plus because TH-cam can often be finicky for karaoke and having a true “karaoke” app with doing true karaoke is night and day and I’ll likely stay with it when the 6 months is done unless it’s expensive, which strangely it does not say the cost. I guess I’ll see. You can also have the Karafun app on your personal phone tablet and use that to Karaoke without this speaker just connect your tablet or phone to the tv and use your tv’s speaker system, if you have one, for sound and use a separate speaker /amp that have a mic jack and use that for the singing. It has been what I’ve been doing except I was using TH-cam but now with Karafun it’s even better! Sorry this has been so long but I wanted to share my experience with this product. I haven't found any latency with sound, in actual fact, the software is now upgradable via the cloud, in the system settings you can find an option to upgrade, this is through Ikarao.
Two questions…does the OS allow for installing any Android app like Disney+ or Apple Music or is it limited to what is pre-installed? I have Karafun but I also want to use it for playing Spotify playlists for a Xmas party. Second question…does the microphone and music continue to play through the speaker when plugged into an hdmi device or does the audio switch to what it is plugged into?
Certain apps can be installed yes, if I’m not mistaken native Google apps don’t work but I have installed Netflix and it works. Karafun works, actually comes with a free 6 months I think. Spotify can be downloaded too. Regarding 2nd question, yes, the sound still comes through the speaker and so does the mic sound come through the speaker :)

It could be 800watts PMPO which is peak power. To briefly explain it, RMS is what the speaker can constantly push, PMPO is the highest peak it reaches on a peak sound. I have the JBL Partbox 710s which are 800RMS and I can tell you they are WAY louder.
So comparing this to the JBL party box, thoughts? Still wondering if it's still your top choice for a Karaoke system or is there another option. Thanks
I like the concept but unfortunately the sounds quality sounds so boxy it would take away the pleasantness of overall experience in karaoke , thanks for the review tho !
I have to disagree, it's definitely not boxy, perhaps you'd prefer it with bass boost off. I recently had to use this specific speaker in a church to play a song and WOW, the sound quality was superb, my client actually commented on the quality of the music played and that it was so smooth and soothing. Really appreciate your comment and watching and thank you for the input.

Can you upgrade the android software to 14 or 15? Is there a latency with sound
