I think there is an underrated duo play here you might want to cover: VentureX + Savor or SavorOne vs. AMEX Platinum + AMEX Gold. Since Capital One let’s you transfer points from a Savor or SavorOne to a VentureX, you can essentially have a card that’s 3x grocery (that’s grocery, important, the AMEX category is “US supermarket”), dining and entertainment paired with your 2x VentureX. This may be better for generating spend than 4x on a Gold because you don’t pay an annual fee (and you don’t need to spend $10 every month at Shake Shack to recoup your AMEX Gold annual fee) ;)
To me the gold perks are so easy to use the fee is irrelevant. Anything through GrubHub or UberEats works so you aren't limited to just shake shack or cheesecake factory lol.
bingo - my VentureX + SavorOne duo has been amazing. all grocery, dining, coffee, etc.that qualify 3x on S1, additionally CapOne's shopping portal offers so many cash back deals so I check there before online shopping (ex: vivid seats offer for 8% cash back, H&M 12%, etc.); and all other purchases on VX (2x for misc, 5x flights, 10x hotels). S1 can be redeemed for statement credits or 1:1 to cover purchases or redeem on amazon, and more, then I rack up VX points for future travel. This doesn't even take into account how simple my travel planning is with CapOne's travel portal is to use and the price savings they offer, and totally ignoring all the other perks...
The Savor and SavorOne just keep getting better and better too. They added streaming platforms as a category for 4x (Savor) or 3x (SavorOne) back, including TH-cam TV, and all the major streaming sites. They now have free UberOne membership for the next 2 years ($240 value), and 10% back on Uber and Uber Eats, which can then be converted to VentureX Miles like you stated. I know this is only a 2 year thing, but I think Capital One and Uber are very likely to strike some sort of parternship before that ends. @@anthonychen6237 I think I'm moving from CSR to VX+Savor myself. With the transfer partners between Chase and C1 along with plaza lounges contracted with C1 there are just more options for me without the lifestyle fluff I don't care about. Definitely thinking about adding this card - when the DFW Centurion was uncomfortably crowded recently my fiance suggested we try the Capital One lounge since she has a Venture card. I must say the Capital One longe at DFW was very nice and much more comfortable, at least on the day we were there. The food was excellent and the views are much nicer. I think I'll keep the CSP rather than upgrading to CSR and and go with Venture X instead.
6:15 Yes you are the only person that talks about third party bookings. I work for an airline and we have to charge extra fees to take over reservations from the third party GDS systems.
Sebby always making MVP caliber videos. Keep ‘em coming. 🦷 I am quite frugal and sometimes have to find ways to meet spend minimums. For anyone else in a situation like that, a couple suggestions (if you haven’t already thought of it). 1. My city accepts all but AmEx for property taxes and charges 2.45% but since Cap One Venture X gives 2% back on everything, that’s effectively less than half a percent per dollar. 2. I started withholding less from my paychecks so that come tax filing time, I would have the option of paying with a credit card, if it happens to be advantageous. I believe all the vendors that the IRS outsources their tax collection to, charge a shade under 2% (like 1.95% or 1.99%) = break even. 3. I didn’t used to be able to charge any of my utilities to a CC but lately some have started accepting credit cards for a nominal fee. I haven’t tried it yet but I think I could possibly also pay in advance. If that works, I could pay the next several months’ water, gas and electricity bills, for example.
I also weighed both of these options and came to the conclusion that the Venture X Card was a better fit for my lifestyle right now. Both cards are fantastic travel credit cards though! 🤓
A small omission is the Visa Infinite level of benefits for Capital One. Even they don't advertise that. Includes Avis & National mid-tier status, 3 years of Shipt, a FHR knock-off, and even their own concierge
Capital One took a page from the Chase Sapphire Reserve playbook and gave their top tier card a straightforward and easy-to-use credit with some extra points sprinkled on top. And it’s a lot of the same benefits of the Platinum with a lower annual fee. Unless you really need the additional lounge options or you’re really into coupon booking, Venture X comes out on top for me. 🦷
The Cash Back earned on the Capital One Savor card can be transferred over to the Capital One Venture X to have more miles to book Travel or transfer to an airline partner.
@@luis77731 You can transfer Savor rewards to Venture X, but you cannot Transfer Venture X miles to Savor. Keep that in mind if you choose the Capital One Route. I plan on getting the Savor card after my six month waiting time has passed since getting approved for the Venture X card.
One of the things the venture x has going for it is you can create an easy 2 card system with the SavorOne. You then have a 2x card, travel bonus via the portal, and bonuses on dining, groceries and streaming. All in the same transferable points for a -$5 net annual fee.
I think for me it’s the platinum. Because I usually don’t like to book with portals because if there’s a cancellation or something then it can be a hassle as everyone tries to push you off to someone else. The airline will say to call capital one and capital one will say call the airline. Also if you book hotels you won’t get the loyalty points. It might end up giving me a 🦷 ache.
Thank you Sebby. This is a really good video for me. I have Amex Plat for 5 years and I just received Venture X. AF is due for Plat in 3 months and I am really undecisive about renewing for next year. I guess my decision will depend on what retention offer I get.
Working on the Venture X bonus currently. The card was a no brainer. I’m not a VP level employee that travels constantly, or live in a downtown setting. I also don’t see a lot of value in the couponing aspect of the Plat. And for my spending habits, the Venture X + Savor out earn a comparable Chase stack. The bonus should be easy peasy as we’re renovating a condo next month too. Plus we’re already cashing in on the perks. Taking a trip to Austin next month for the Moto GP race and redeemed our $300 credit already and using Hertz Presidential for our rental… 🦷🦷🦷
I reaaalllly wanted the flex and lounges of the platinum but when 5x on flights and 1x on everything else is horrible for such an expensive card. Venture X is $300 + 10,000 miles back yearly making the card free and 2x on everything is hard to beat. It beats the platinum no questions asked in practicality. I hope Capital One starts expanding lounges and opens at LAX one day
Amex Platinum is a card geared toward people that travel heavily. If you spend a lot on travel, you're going to appreciate its benefits. If you're taking 3 or fewer trips per year, then the Venture X is hands-down the winner. However, If you're taking a lot of trips per year (5+), the better travel partner list, the lounge access, and the flexibility of 5x points booking through airlines directly, all make the Amex Plat an incredible value. This card was a really smart move from Capital One, though, because it catches all of the people that can't make the CSR or Amex Plat work for them.
@@nichtsistkostenlos6565 I would say that the frequency of travel is probably less the determining factor so much as the hotel status offered with the Plat. If you're someone that doesn't care about that (AirBnb bookers, typically), then the plat makes much less sense than the VX. Also, you need to consider that if you're traveling that much, you're probably spending nearly as much money at restaurants as you are in hotels (depending upon the properties you decide to stay), so the bonus for restaurant spend is much more useful with the VX than dishing out another 250 for the amex gold. Unless, as you correctly stated, you travel over 1 month out of every year (as most of us *do* eat at restaurants in our everyday lives). Amex Plat is definitely going after a lifestyle demographic and straying quite far from what made the plat so appealing: the brilliant travel perks at a price that wasn't so eye-gouging. Venture X is filling the void that amex is leaving behind and I truly appreciate that. Also, VX added the Plaza lounges to their network, so that's one more arrow in the lounge quiver for VX.
I was approved today for capital one venture x with a 20k line of credit and my credit score is 762 I plan to use it for my vacation to take advantage of the benefits
Thanks for the great content. My goal would be to get the Venture X. My largest expenditure is a mortgage so I can't pay it with a credit card. I want to finish off my Chase Trifecta before I get that one. These SUB spending will be difficult as I simply don't buy as much "stuff". I travel internationally once a year but I can avoid spending a lot with it by going on shoulder season and staying with relatives. My spending seems lower than other people.
By the end of the year I will have the following wallet: - Amex plat - Amex Gold - Venture X - Chase sapphire preferred I get the annual fees waved so it’s a win win.. am just going to have to be careful meeting the min spends and keeping track of the benefits
One thing that you forgot to mention is that the customer service, and the general service of American Express is light years ahead of capital one. I’m a customer of both companies, and I have had a spectacular time literally every time I have tried to get in touch with the rep at American express, there is the customer service representatives in capital one or typical clueless, or they have no suggestions to help!
One thing, I get the Amex gives hotel status but I have to like the venture x for car rental status. You can match from hertz presidents circle to the other companies
The Hilton Gold status given by the Amex Plat has come really in handy for me. I travel a lot for work and we have centers in a lot of smaller cities/ markets like Tulsa, Scranton, Pompano, etc.. I have gotten an upgrade 75% of the time at the time of check in. In our larger markets like ATL , Chicago and San Diego I have only been upgraded once. Since I get reimbursed for all business related travel expenses, this card pays for itself and I get to enjoy its perks when I go on personal travel 😀
I think you need to clarify what kind of travel. For international travel the Amex is basically useless overseas. In many stores or cities, in foreign countries around the world, they don't take Amex. I carry both the CSR and the Amex and the Amex stays in the wallet while overseas. So if I had to pick between those two, Capital One is by far the best travel card.
Though V & MC are generally accepted in a few more places, I have used AX in Europe, Asia, Africa, North, Central, and South America, and very rarely get my Amex turned down, when it happens it’s almost always a cash only business. As most international travelers know, it’s safer to use a credit card than cash or debit, Amex benefits like getting you a replacement card and money anywhere in the world, is one of the perks no one cares about until they need it.
I currently have the platinum due to the 150k pt sign up and the 10x at restaurants. But that runs out in April 2022. I have the Venture card(4yrs account age) and have the ability to update to the Venture X with no hard pulls due to having a account. I am considering just upgrading to get the new VX card and dropping the platinum in November when renewal starts. But I’m worried they will take my points. I have a gold card that I got a 75k SUB in Feb 2022. The questions is will they keep my pts if I close the Plat but keep the Gold card open?? Thanks for the great videos as always
Amex platinum lost me when they said I have to spend 75k on it to keep lounge access in 2023. I think for the cost of the card I shouldn’t have to meet additional requirements to keep that benefit
Your access to lounges doesnt change at all. It wont impact you personally at all. For guest, youll need to spend 75k to get them in for free. I have three AU Platinums for $175 a year. Well worth it for us. Just depends on you :)
The Venture X would be a strong card for me if it just had better lounge access. I've flown abroad at least 20 times or more now, and have never been through any of the 3 airports they are opening in. I also absolutely love ANA as a transfer partner, because they have the best Japan and Australia deals usually. I will say though, I'll probably wind up getting a venture X simply since it pays itself off.
Regarding Chicago...Delta is moving their Chicago operations later this year/early next year to the newly expanded Terminal 5(will include a new Delta lounge). United/American and their partners will be moving their international operations to a new Global Terminal (replacing term 2). I have heard a number of new lounges are included in the new Global Terminal build.
Think I want both. Upgraded my venture one to the venture x already since the card effectively pays me $5 to keep it if I use it to book only one trip per year. I want the amex for better lounge and hotel benefits though and estimate I will use about $600-$700/yr in credits to offset the $695 annual fee. With these two, I wouldn't need the CSR (can't justify the effective $250 annual fee after its $300 travel credit, as I would not use any other credits or benefits it offers).
I ended up doing both. I did let go of Amex Gold and upgraded. I did like the Amex Gold, but I have been finding I use Citi Custom Cash or often Discover for restaurants and grocery shopping (for 5%) as a single consumer, since I usually don't exceed the max for those benefits. If Discover isn't offering restaurants or grocery shopping in a particular quarter, then Citi Custom Cash for groceries at 5% and Citi Costco Visa for restaurants at 3%. If traveling that month, I stay with Citi Custom Cash for restaurants first. For AMEX, I happen to have several of the entertainment subscriptions already and will be able to make full use of the $240 credit I also use Uber Eats (and almost always pick up the order) so that's another $200 credit. I valued the Walmart+ credit at $98 since I used to get that on a yearly plan. That gets the Platinum down to $157. I believe I will be able to make use of at least half of the $200 Airline credit, so that takes it down to $57 (or a $43 bonus if I can use all of it). The other credits I am not so sure about. If I decide to try CLEAR, that is a definite bonus. I just looked at the more obvious uses for my situation, which got me into the -$57 to +$43 range, which I am totally comfortable with, considering all of Platinum's other direct and indirect benefits. I still like my Venture X card too. Just one trip per year on it will pay for itself with the $300 credit and the annual effective $100 (minimum before working with partners) mileage credit.
@@Scott-td4fd nice! So far I’ve held off on the Amex but I still plan to get it at some point. Have also been looking at getting a mid tier airline card as well (for free bags and earlier boarding).
And that seems to be the problem with booking through third-party basically you're earning points versus shelling out hard currency AKA cash just to get that back in points. That's definitely not a good thing
Sebastion, Awesome Video this is a few weeks old but now Capital One has there entertainment Portal now with concerts and preferred seating and experiences just like AMEX now. Cap One is growing in the travel space and they are coming. Hopefully it all works. I find that the platinum card looks like the credits are restrictive and hard to use from what I have read and heard about.
I live in Seattle and lounge access was my #1 priority when I got my card. AMEX Platinum wins hands down, especially since I normally fly Delta or American and with Delta lounge access and Centurion lounges in SEA, DFW, CLT, and MIA that pretty well covers my needs. I also have a Capital One Venture Card if I ever want to try one of their lounges. Since I got a Business Gold card with 4X for my top two categories, whatever they are that month, I am socking away a ton of AMEX points.
⛽⛽⛽🚗🚗🚗 I live 5 miles from work and drive a Civic so not much to complain about here! Still got that Custom Cash on desk to rotate back in after hitting spend on CSP for that 80k! Cheers Sebby! 🔥🔥🔥
I bought tickets to DC, and used the feature in Capital One Venture X. It alerted me when the price dropped a little and I bought it when it said it was a good time....then a few weeks later, price dropped again by $20 a ticket. I got the money back without me having to ask for it...that was super nice. But what I am not sure of is that in all the other alerts I have put up...it told me when I thinks the price will go down...and it's only been going up. IDK if it was just beginner's luck?!?
Regarding care rental protection, the Platinum card does have it, but it's secondary which means if you are renting in the USA and Canada have car insurance it will be secondary. However, outside the USA it means the coverage on the Platinum card is almost always primary as most personal car insurance does not provide coverage outside the USA and Canada.
I’m on the “Chase Trifecta” and love it. Get lots of free travel. But it would be nice to have only one card to keep up with. Would Venture X be a viable option? Seems it would be $5 (after credits)and 2x miles on non travel spending vs the trifecta’s (usually 1.5% on the Freedom card) and 25% point boost for travel redemptions.
Thats what I'm trying to figure out also. I too am on the Chase train. My CSR AF is coming due this month and I'm weighing options. What has kept me with Chase is that the points are worth more in the portal. 1.5% adds up very fast compared to 1%. But if you're accruing points faster because you get 2X back no matter what with Capital One is it a wash??
🦷 I’m keeping my Platinum which has worked well for me. I don’t have enough mental bandwidth to add a new point system to my stable, and I’m too lazy junk my current AmEx points to start a new points system.
My airport is Detroit, which is a Delta hub, and accounts for like 70% of flights (including Delta Connection). So unfortunately for me it's the Platinum if I decide to get a premium card. The Delta Reserve could be worth it if you value the companion pass very highly, but it does kind of suck that worthwhile options are limited for me.
🦷 Have to maintain that oral hygiene (just in case my dentist is watching). Great video. Did you consider including the Chase Sapphire Reserve in this one, or would that have made the video too long? For me, I am partial to AMEX, but am still not in a place where the Platinum card would be right for me. Maybe over the next couple of years my travel itineraries will change to where the Platinum card makes more sense for me. At least, I hope my travel destinations change so that it will make sense.
The Platinum card has tons of benefits, it's downfall is that not many people use them all or can. The Venture X is a straight forward travel card that pays you when you use it for it's purpose. I prefer straight forward cards especially with annual fee's, than cards that try to do everything. The platinum is nice but the Venture X has a lot more people who can take advantage.
just visited Capital One lounge at DFW. Very nice lounge at least on par if not better than Centurion lounge. Just don't know how long it will last before it gets super crowded...
In my opinion the Venture x should be in every person’s wallet (can imagine Samuel L Jackson repeating that) who travels at least once a year. Currently easily pays for itself and would be to go to card for Priority Pass access. It also would be my choice for people with families because they have less time to wait around for a centurion lounges. If you are looking at the platinum card for lounge access specifically I would only focus on if you are a Delta flyer or if you are based out of an airport that has a centurion lounge. Overall, if you are based out of ORD you are screwed.
🦷 dont forget to brush them after that nice meal ! i hope you enjoyed. My question is : How can i maximise my credit card (lets say an amex ) in correlation with my business (amex business card) what expenses does that cover ? and how to optimize things for taxes (also im in canada (quebec (= more taxes))) so any future videos specific to here are so appreciated)
General question. Seeking advice Will be traveling to Cabo San Lucas in March 2023. Will flight Alaska or United, depending on what city we decide to fly out of (Phoenix or San Diego). Credit in the low 700s, under 5/24, average spend on credit cards I would estimate to be $3,000 monthly. Any card recommendations to get the flight (3 tickets) covered? Appreciated!
I've had the CSR for 4 years but you're right this Venture X card is looking solid! I wonder how the points break down between the chase portal and the capital one portal. One thing the csr has is the car rental and trip protection coverage. I have peace of mind renting cars as I can decline the rental insurance. I also had to cancel a trip before and chase did it without any issues. If you don't care about those two things the venture x card may be a winner.
@@junior5893 I agree those definitely come in handy. I haven’t had any issues canceling my trip but it’s assuring that I can cancel and get a nice refund. Another nice benefit is the new lounges opening up in the states and it’s looking for so much potential but a point breakdown has to be the next video
@@plato1102 Agreed. I'm in California so no new lounges here yet but i imagine they're on the way.. I just watched another Venture X breakdown by Sebby and the venture x point value is 1 CPP in their portal (CSR is 1.5 CPP). the csr points are worth more, but the earn minimum 2X no matter what you spend on can be attractive depending on your lifestyle. I travel a few times a year and eat out A LOT, so the 3X I get on dining adds up. In addition to 10X lyft points per ride. Where the VX kills the CSR to me is the ability to add 4 Authorized Users for free. That's AMAZING. Definitely depends on your spending style, but the VX definitely will grab a chunk of the CC market
@@junior5893 I think if you add the C1 Savor then you'll get more value than the CSR (I have the trifecta) and you'll save yourself some cash in fees with greater lounge access. I'm considering going from Trifecta to VX+Savor or VX+Premier for the 3x points on Dining, grocery and gas, with free AUs for 4 on each one. Since I travel with my wife this saves me just over $100 in fees alone, but should increase my points accrual by about 20ish percent. Airline transfer partners are where it's at with the points anyway.
@@ryanshannon6963 Yes that’s a great play. Don’t think you can lose either way just depends on your lifestyle. I often take the train to work and occasionally use Lyft and DoorDash. Getting 10X on Lyft and delivery fees waived adds up quickly for me. If Chase ever decided to get rid of the 1.5X for the portal that’s when I’ll bow out. The VX points potentially accrue faster but aren’t worth as much as the chase portal (Ex 75,000 VX pts = $750 and 75,000 CSR pts = $1125) If you don’t use the ride share or food apps then the VX is very attractive.

How is it going a year later?? I just applied and got approved just waiting for the card now 😌
Thanks for the hydration reminder Sebby! Also, I recently got Venture X and have been enjoying it. Looking forward to more capital one lounges. 😎 ✈️
Awesome!
Fhr?
@@Emmanuel-ne3oi fine hotels and resorts
Does Venture X get free 3 year Shipt membership?
How does FHR works can you explain?
What do people actually do with the concierge
Capital One took a page from the Chase Sapphire Reserve playbook and gave their top tier card a straightforward and easy-to-use credit with some extra points sprinkled on top. And it’s a lot of the same benefits of the Platinum with a lower annual fee. Unless you really need the additional lounge options or you’re really into coupon booking, Venture X comes out on top for me. 🦷
I have to agree, getting positive value from the X is simple.
The Cash Back earned on the Capital One Savor card can be transferred over to the Capital One Venture X to have more miles to book Travel or transfer to an airline partner.
Has this been confirmed or where did you read this?
Cause if that’s the true, then that makes the Venture X a no-brainer for me
@@luis77731 You can transfer Savor rewards to Venture X, but you cannot Transfer Venture X miles to Savor. Keep that in mind if you choose the Capital One Route. I plan on getting the Savor card after my six month waiting time has passed since getting approved for the Venture X card.
Got Venture X based on your online recommendation. Really happy with the decision. Although, I do also want the platinum for Delta lounge access! 🦷
but u can only get in if your flying DELTA!!!
@@korah33 i dont think so
@@thevarricchios4743 It's in the stipulations: You have access if you're departing on a Delta flight.
Love your videos man. Just got the venture x, so I’m excited to see how the rewards/lounges expand 🦷
Hope you enjoy it!
Didn't Virgin Red get added to Capital ones transfer partners?
Yes. they did.
From someone who doesn't travel a whole lot but does on occasion the venture x is probably my next big card. 🦷
CSR and Platinum and now the Venture X are all in rotation thanks Sebby!
@@ryanshannon6963 Very Insightful/ Well Stated!!!
That Capital One Airport Lounge you went to was surprisingly nice, but I don't like booking 3rd party flights; too much of an headache.
I was approved today for capital one venture x with a 20k line of credit and my credit score is 762 I plan to use it for my vacation to take advantage of the benefits
Data points please.
By the end of the year I will have the following wallet:
- Amex plat
- Amex Gold
- Venture X
- Chase sapphire preferred
I get the annual fees waved so it’s a win win.. am just going to have to be careful meeting the min spends and keeping track of the benefits
I really enjoy your channel. I'm learing a lot as a more "seasoned" person of age. Keep the great info coming.
I have the Quicksilver and the SavorOne. Can I hold a third Capital One card? 🦷
Great video. One thing I would add is the Venture x is a credit card. The Amex Platinum in a charge card.
Hey dog 🐕 good video, over the last month your advice has brought me from 580 to 770, so thanks man - I owe you a beer or 3 😁
I have both, but I like the Platinum more.
10/9/2022 Sebby!!!! 4:48am applied/approved for VENTURE X! … & I’m not usually a fan of Cap 1. Thank you.
@@samuelrivera8046 if you can make the credits work for you I agree the plat offers more. I just can’t justify them.
🦷 Another great vlog... hopefully I will see you again at the Aria!
Loved the video Sebby! Debating on getting the Venture X to go along with my Amex Gold. By doing so, I might downgrade my CSP. What do you think? 🦷🦷
The card may not be accepted but Amex lounge options are way better internationally, especially in Asia now that plaza premium is amex exclusive.
Who cares about a lounge im only gonna be there for. A couple hours
Do you think the Venture X is worth it if you’re already chase reserve??
Where was the sushi at and what was the dish called with all those little dishes of assorted stuff?
What are those in the background? Besides the Kaws and Tesla?
Still baffles me that ORD doesnt have a centurion lounge. 🦷
MMMM I will go Cap1 because I can cover the fee easily. I only travel 2x per year so the lounge is not a big deal for me.... 🦷🦷🦷🦷
Amex platinum lost me when they said I have to spend 75k on it to keep lounge access in 2023. I think for the cost of the card I shouldn’t have to meet additional requirements to keep that benefit
The 75k are for a guest access. But I agree with you
Your access to lounges doesnt change at all.
It has priority pass and plaza premium.
@@KemAlimole I’m aware, but neither plaza premium or priority pass are that special with the exception of lounges located outside the US unfortunately
Every time I attempt to book through AMEX travel, the trip ends up costing one to $200 more than booking through the airline itself.
And that seems to be the problem with booking through third-party basically you're earning points versus shelling out hard currency AKA cash just to get that back in points. That's definitely not a good thing
Sebastion,
Awesome Video this is a few weeks old but now Capital One has there entertainment Portal now with concerts and preferred seating and experiences just like AMEX now. Cap One is growing in the travel space and they are coming. Hopefully it all works. I find that the platinum card looks like the credits are restrictive and hard to use from what I have read and heard about.
Got approved today for the venture x with a reported Fico score of 708 🙏🏽🎉
Love the platinum card. Greatest travel card hands down.
Since I got a Business Gold card with 4X for my top two categories, whatever they are that month, I am socking away a ton of AMEX points.
lol, the two airports I fly out of the most often are ORD and MCO, but I still love the other perks the Platinum gives me.
Always watch until the end club. 🦷
🙌
How do you get approved for Venture X though 😭
So I booked hotel collection and got my $200 credit! Can I use fhr and get another 200?
Both of these are amazing cards, each one offers a different set for everyone.
All Nippon Airways isn't good for getting to Japan? I also don't see ANA listed on Amex's partner page on their site
🦷 I’m keeping my Platinum which has
worked well for me. I don’t have enough mental bandwidth to add a new point system to my stable, and I’m too lazy junk my current AmEx points to start a new points system.
🦷 kinda wanna apply for venture x but i dont think i can spend 10k within 6 months lol ~
Sebby thank you for such great content.
The Venture X bonus is down to 75,000 now, but you just need $4000 over 3 months to get that, so that may be more doable for many.
Theoretically can't they just increase the price after a year?
My airport is Detroit, which is a Delta hub, and accounts for like 70% of flights (including Delta Connection). So unfortunately for me it's the Platinum if I decide to get a premium card. The Delta Reserve could be worth it if you value the companion pass very highly, but it does kind of suck that worthwhile options are limited for me.
Can you do how to videos. Like how to use venture x to the max
In my experience the covx price alert worked great. Even got a refund later
Was denied for the Platinum even though I have great history with Amex and above 740 credit but I’m applying for venture x soon 🤞🏽🦷
I like the ability to carry a balance if absolutely necessary, so for me personally, I'd go with the VentureX.
Video would've been too long. Will compare to CSR in an upcoming one!
Does booking hotels through Capital One Travel qualify you got nights toward status? 🦷
Thx for answering that Chicago doesn’t have a lounge here at OHare
Sebby what about. Discover mile for a travel card if you can’t get chase or capital x or Amex Platinum
🦷 The Venture X is my go to card for "everything else" spending.
Didn’t capital one just add Virgin Red which you can 1:1 transfer to Virgin Atlantic or did I misread that?
🦷 What's the name of the restaurant at the end?
just visited Capital One lounge at DFW. Very nice lounge at least on par if not better than Centurion lounge. Just don't know how long it will last before it gets super crowded...
Currently, even people who don’t have Venture X, Venture, or Spark Miles can get into the C1 lounge. But they would have to pay $65.
Which one is easier to get
In my opinion the Venture x should be in every person’s wallet (can imagine Samuel L Jackson repeating that) who travels at least once a year.
Seeking advice
Will be traveling to Cabo San Lucas in March 2023.
If you're flying to Cabo San Lucas from San Diego, then fly out Tijuana. Saves a ton of money and the Tijuana aeropuerto is right on the border.
@@Gummb0 I did last year. Won't repeat. Too disorganized. But you are right on saving money
I live in DC and the amex lounge is usually soo crowded
This is great I want to know how this compared to Chase Sapphire Reserved!
It would be so much more tempting for the Platinum if Amex made their flight credit easier to use
Wym it’s not rocket science 😂
@@Username85254 I rarely need checked bags, and I'd rather save the money for another flight than buy extra legroom for an existing one
You’re definitely right, not much value in the airline credit. I have both cards and venture x takes it for me.
You should have added to chase sapphire reserve in this! I got it a year ago and wonder if it’s worth keeping
The VX points potentially accrue faster but aren’t worth as much as the chase portal (Ex 75,000 VX pts = $750 and 75,000 CSR pts = $1125)
If you don’t use the ride share or food apps then the VX is very attractive.
Platinum is awesome for military because they waive the annual fee
Capital One is just absolutely horrible in CLIs, at least in my case. That alone makes me hesitant of getting a Venture X.
Sebby, do you by chance have the link for capital one to downgrade cards? I’ve got the venture and venture X so I’m going to downgrade my venture to a venture one for no annual fee
Great video. Venture x for me
