No... black men are almost always assumed to be thugs... to be what you just called them.
Lamar Jackson is not nor has he ever been what you just said. He is a defiance of every negative stereotype of black men... but rather than admit the assumptions are wrong... you call him what you see him as.
If he were a different ethnicity it would be a great story of overcoming adversity & remaining authentic... but some he's the shade he is & hasn't conformed to changing to suit what folk who don't look like him deem "appropriate"... it's labeled negatively. Allow the man to shatter your stereotypes & see others as they are without assumptions.

    1. Can he beat a top team in football? Beat the 49er's, check!
    2. Can he win in the playoffs? Handled the most blitzes he ever faced and put the Texans away 34-10.

The AFC was already tough this year considering 4 starting QBs got hurt within the conference they are coming back next year and I never said he will not make it back if he doesn’t win this year but we said the same thing for rodgers and Brees they won one Super Bowl and haven’t sniffed another since the same way I cant guarantee he won’t be back is the same I can’t guarantee that he will it’s hard so it’s best for him to get the job done now cause everything is setup for him to.

RC is absolutely right that Lamar and the Ravens winning it all is much, much bigger than football. Culture and the attitude in football as it pertains to how you win will begin to shift.
Think of when the warriors won their second title. Prior to that, it was a known fact that jump shooting teams cannot win you a championship. Then the warriors first ring began a shift in mindset, their second ring completed that shift. Lamar winning not only the SB, but also SB MVP will begin a shift in football that a QB with elite running ability who looks the way he does can lead your team and win the big one.

The fact that Jackson has NOT taken advantage of his position and capitalized off of his presence as an NFL star and has left it all to be determined on the field is noble, but a slippery slope because, although he is truly fun to watch, he has yet to show up in big games and this loss to Mahomes further cements that point.

Well I guess we know now. Lamar did what Lamar does in the playoffs. He disappears. Relatively. He completed just 54% of his passes and had an INT -- which could have easily had been two. He carried the ball himself as much as all the running backs on the team combined. Unless he changes how he plays, I think this will be his legacy. Defenses know that if you stop Lamar, you win. And that is what happens in the playoffs. He needs to quit trying to play RB who happens to throw the ball and make his job to get his team involved. He needs to take himself out of the equation in the running game. I don't think he will though and this is how his seasons will continue to end.
