    Hey David I have a few suggestions to drum hack videos but I don't know how to solve them. Hopefully you do. First is how to clean your bass drum felt beater. Second is how to make a hihat clutch with things you could find at a gig place, I mean, you arrive to play a gig somewhere and realize that you forgot your own hihat chutch or your church doesn't fit the place's hi hat stand. Thanks in advance 😃

  • @liveraddieradder
    @liveraddieradder 4 ปีที่แล้ว +31

    If you get to a gig and realize you forgot your rug you can break a stick in half and gaff tape it to the floor, put your bass drum so that the spurs are pushing up against the taped down stick and it won't move.

    • @dairyairman

    Maybe this is common knowledge, but I use drum sticks (even good ones) to loosen the insanely over tightened wing screws on house kit cymbal stands. I put a stick on either side of the wings and use the sticks as a clamp/wrench to loosen the screws.

    One hack I’ve done on wood tipped sticks that have gotten chipped (with varying degrees of success) is: mix some epoxy like David did in the video, let it set up a little bit so it’s thicker and dip the tip in. You will probably have to slowly rotate the stick to prevent too much on one side. Now you have something like a nylon tipped stick.

    • @cvn6555
      @cvn6555 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just have switched to nylon tipped sticks. I don't like the feel or sound as much as wood-tipped sticks, but since I chip the tips so quickly but never actually break tips, they last so much longer.

    Yo! good ideas. However I can give a better back for a slave pedal stop. Drumstick will work but you have to keep an eye on it. Ittl move around. You also have to keep good track of it while moving gear around to gigs. What I used to do before finally getting my new pearl demon drive which dont move. Is to take a velcro cable strap from one of the mic cables and use it to strap the upright of the slave pedal directly to the leg of my hh stand. Boom! Wont move until you unwrap it. Also you can just leave it wrapped on the pedal during transit. You can also go get some velcro and glue the plastic half and glue it to the pedal base and it will stick to carpet.

  • @arthurschwieger82

    I have been using a pair of Vic Firth Titan TI5Bs for several years not and have not yet broken them. They are a bit heavy for a 5B stick. I kind of like that as you can easily drive them through a cymbal crash with a quick snap of the wrist. Before this pair, I would break sticks all the time. With some glue and tape, they made great starter stick for my children to use as toys.
