with the big demand that came in for opal stones, id imagine they're doing more innovative methods of finding them, leading to more variation in what they find probably based on the geography of the place and how the rock of the land formed etc.
07:37 🤩 This is where it all started. It was such a great experience mining in Koroit and we got so many beautiful stones. They were put for sale through our website and now I’m back on Outback Opal Hunters, there will be more celebrities stones coming up
This fascinates me. Just rocks but we as humans are drawn to them like crazy! Novice people wanting to buy have no clue who to trust to buy from. I would love and opal
Just rocks? HAHAHA!!! the amazing fact that they take 140 million years of extremely rare formation conditions sets them quite a ways apart from "just rocks". Lol
@@TekkzyLeagueif i had thing like this ,i would grind it around with tooth brush.. would take it to living room, nice cup of coffee, bucked of water , and kept brushing for next 4 years

Whats the best way to polish a boulder / Koroit nut? anyone? don't think the cerium oxide works, certainly not on standard queensland rough, powders the surface rather than polishes... inn my experience anyway....
they don't really know what they have. yes they could get way more if they had cut the gem out of the nut but not knowing what's inside would take forever. could just be a rock like most times.
@Kaye Marcus Are you really Yoko Ono in disguise? I'm all for a positive message, especially when it's to be found by climbing a ladder then opening a tiny card, taped to the ceiling of an art gallery. It's how John Lennon was first drawn towards Yoko: reading that simple word, 'yes'. I've scrolled through hundreds of comments until reaching this, the very first that's posted. I'm having a bad day, so THANKYOU for being a beacon of light in an inky skyline.
Every time i watch this show there’s a new most expensive type of opal “found no where else on earth”
with the big demand that came in for opal stones, id imagine they're doing more innovative methods of finding them, leading to more variation in what they find probably based on the geography of the place and how the rock of the land formed etc.
Dean W that or they're trying to get people to watch the show
They mine in different areas and the different groups don’t mine the same ground... so you will only find certain opal in certain areas
Lol seriously
Does anyone actually know the answer as to what is the most expensive type of opal?
I never knew thus sort of Opal existed... Wow how beautiful.
They are soooo lucky they have that old man there who knows the go
That guy is the gem 💎
The show is fake lol look it up hahaha you fell for the bs lol what a boomer
@@reapertally8409 No-one said it wasn't fake :/ It's an inspiring narrative so legitimacy is irrelevant here

I think those are the most unique stones I've seen on this series yet!
Dude everyone on this show is so chill and supportive of each other. It’s awesome lol
This is the most beautiful opal I've EVER seen! I love opals, this one is breathtaking
They didn't say how people lose their selves, money and livelihoods trying to find that opal. It's like the lottery with rocks...

I have been watching for a couple of years now, and Aussie Gold Hunters, and a common theme is it costs a LOT of money to look for stuff that is rare.
@@mumandtwins easier if you happen to be rich from some other business venture.. probably why the most successful mining operations are well funded
Sure beats risking hard-earned cash in stock market investments run by people that exploit the system by way of "inside trading".
That’s why I only do this stuff as a hobby

57k$ of rare opal polished while wearing a even rarer tarp work jacket
Yeah, but did you catch the blue of that tarp. It positively glowed. The rarest tarp you can find.
"i always get crushed! " quite happy talking about her experience with "the boys"

and what can be done with the Koroit Nuts, besides sitting in a display cabinet. They sure are beautiful but what can they be used for.
Occult uses such as hypnotism, entrancing, bewitching
Diversity of Opal ❣️ is amazing
Genuine question. Don't they take value off by hitting big chunks out of it right when the dude found it?
They do but they dont have the time to carefully check each rock and time is money
Yes today was the best day boys and tonight is going to be the best romp ever
IMO Koroit is the most beautiful Opal. The patterns are amazing.
after they throw out a value (like $57k) do they ever come back to tell what they sold it for?
something is only as valuable as you sell it for.
It’s only worth as much as people are willing to pay for it
Well you can also split it and sell the pieces to jewelry makers
They honestly sell for more than expected, every single opal sells like a hotcake haha
is that standard thing to cut such big dragon egg opal in half? wouldn't be better to keep it whole? i dont know much bout opals
You have no idea what's actually in it. Most are duds. Have to cut it open to see.
