    I have had chronic migraines that affect each side of my head. It switches from right to left side each menstraul cycle. The vertigo, panic, and overall dis-ease was amplified over time. I’m so glad to know what I have and on the journey to healing.

    I like your attitude about this being a very personal experience with individualized triggers. I bought your book hoping for more help with food triggers and what in the world I can eat to help with my migraine. But my problem is energy, access to a lot of your more specialized foods. I live rurally and don’t have access to Trader Joe’s or Spouts, as examples. Or the energy for meal planning and shopping and then cooking from scratch. I have daily headaches and am overwhelmed with the amount of work involved. I do appreciate your help and the energy you put into it. It gives me hope and help.

      Hey - I get that! It's hard to recommend stuff because people will always ask me "where do you get this?" so I tell them and then I hear "I dont have that store"...so I really can't win! A lot of stuff you can find on amazon though, and I also offer private consults so you could tell me exactly what would work for your lifestyle and I can find recipes for you or give suggestions that feel more manageable.

    Great video!
    My triggers are:
    Chocolate, fake sugars, i.e., any ingredient that ends in "tol", red wine, and coffee, even decaff! Cheese, ages meats, and nuts and fruits dont bother me. Boy do i miss coffee the most. Do you think ill ever be able to have it again?

    Omggggg!!! The yogurt 🤦🏼‍♀️ 🤯I never liked yogurt my whole life up until til a few months ago I discovered I loved Greek yogurt. Which magically aligns with my everyday headaches and the onset of my vertigo. This is so sad to me lol…just when I thought I found myself a healthy(ish) treat.

    Just came across your channel. I was recently diagnosed with 3pd. Having been a nutritional therapist for 10 yrs and a chef I have found myself at a loss as far as nutritional support for me, thinking I knew the right things to eat. And you are right there is not much information for vestibular migraine diets. I also appreciate that the science support for this is you. Meaning us. If it is working for individuals then we are the clinical trials. More Doctors need to get on board with nutritional support and lifestyle changes rather than prescriptions that may or may not work for patients. Thank you again.

      Make sure you check out the video with Dr Cho on PPPD if you haven't seen it already! I agree. Triggers are so individual it would be really hard to support it scientifically. But there wouldn't be so many others like myself if it didn't work for some people.

    I had vestibular migraines so bad that I had to get BOTOX shots in the head every three months plus take Verapamil daily and Relpax whenever I had a breakthrough migraine. I played around with my diet but nothing useful happened. Then, in May 2022 I started taking L-glutamine because it is touted for healing the intestines. Since I didn't discover that I'm very gluten-intolerant until I was in my late 40s I figured I likely had some leftover intestinal damage. What happened next took me completely by surprise. My migraines almost disappeared. I stopped taking Verapamil with no ill effects. Then I stopped getting BOTOX treatments with no ill effects. Then, after taking L-glutamine daily for nine months, I switched to taking it maybe once a week. I now get a migraine (but no dizziness) maybe once or twice a month when a bad storm system blows through. My diet is mainly fruits and berries, tubers, some vegetables, yogurt, kefir, eggs, fish, and chicken. I don't eat any grains.

    Thank you for the information. Being doing the elimination diet for a month. It does work. Don't forget that some medications are triggers. I was talking one for acid reflux. After removing it (approved by my dr), the dizziness and temple pressure got even better. Can't wait to reintroduce to finally find those pesky triggers.

    I’ve recently had these dizzy spells, and a lot of the VM symptoms are present for me. I’ve only been to see a GP at this stage and I’m not diagnosed as having VM. I’ve only had the basics checked like blood tests etc all come back fine. One thing I have noticed is this flared up when I changed my diet, so maybe there’s something that is a trigger there for me. It’s kind of setting off alarm bells because I had this some years ago when I switched to pretty much the same diet change. I’ll just have to go through the changes and see if I can eliminate a trigger food.
    Thanks for the videos on this topic, it’s very valuable to a lot of people going through what you have been through. Not sure if it’s the same path for me yet but cool of you to make these videos all the same. Cheers

    I have to avoid nuts and seeds, grains, dairy and red meat. And caffeine! This is based on muscle testing. Before I got my diagnosis… so I trust these food intolerances have a lot to do with the triggers.

    Thank you, I enjoyed this as I am throughly enjoying your Dizzy Cook -book. 😊 I’m a vegetarian but my family eat meats. Saying that because I can adapt your recipes easily. For example, this weekend I made your Chicken Chili, I used veg broth instead of chicken broth. Left out the actual chicken until I separated enough for me. Then added the chicken and let it simmer. Everyone was taken care of and loved the recipe. 🙂💕 thanks for all you do for the community.

    You are right about this being a lot of information! Last August I was told I have vestibular migraines and PPPD. Immediately I wanted a diet that would work for me. My psychiatrist led me to Grain Brain by Perlmutter. Well, I’m 75 and have an M.A. in bilingual education and his book is a little hard for me. But there is still good to be garnered from his book. Then I found your book and my life began to be easier! I have never been good at meal planning. Lesson plans - yes. Meal plans - not so much. But then a month ago my life changed with a heart attack! Now I have 3 stents in the upper arteries. Now my energy has plummeted. But I am trying to stick with the program. For now we live in a small town where there is no Whole Foods place. Only a small food mart with mostly supplements. Right at this moment I can’t write more. I wish we could talk. Thank you for your book. Sharon

    I recently bought Sumac and I love the flavor. It lingers and I like that. I'm just about a week into the diet. My neurologist suggested it. I actually have known about your sight for a while. I just hadn't gotten around to it. The Mediterranean meatballs were delicious. I do know chocolate and caffeine are fine with me. I only do a cup of coffee a day and every drink thereafter is caffeine free. Soy I can do but only limited because my belly says no after a while. Lol I am dairy free but mostly bc my body has retaliated and I can use the restroom. Lol some food we already don't eat bc my middle child has a stoma and those foods can either bulk too much or clog. So like beans and nuts and bananas. Just to name a few. And she's also sensitive to dairy and eggs. So my son is the only one having actual milk. I'm hoping it helps. I don't get dizzy all the time but I'm still hoping this will help with the now 6 migraines a month. I am on meds that have helped a lot because I was getting 11 migraines a month for about 7 years. I was in my early thirties and am now am in my early 40s. I do know that too much sunlight, heat, stress, poor sleep (hello insomnia, yes I have meds for that) and exertion are no bueno for my migraines. The rest I wasn't sure on but that's why I'm trying this diet.

    Recently diagnosed after dealing with chronic dizziness for years. Before i knew what was wrong with me. I felt like i would be worse after eating nuts or drinking coffee which is a staple in my diet. I dont eat meat so nuts was my main source of protein. I gave up coffee but kept eating nuts now seeing this video i realise i was prolly correct. Nuts are a trigger

    Any idea if people who’s migraines seem to trigger around their menstrual cycle also have success with the migraine diet? To reduce inflammation overall?

      Yes I have had success 2 months with no migrain in my menstrual cycle. I dont eat meet, gluen or dairy. No proces food, lots of Water!
      There is hope!

    I'm going to try this diet as last resort. Having dealt with vestibular migraines for a decade. Only, I only found out that this has been vestibular migraines this entire time about three months ago. It's gotten so bad to the point where I'm blacking out, losing vision in my left eye, and vomiting every day. I feel no hope. I'm also only 33 and I've survived two heart attacks this year and have asked about vestibular migraine medications and have been denied as I'm at heart risk. So I have 0 hope and purpose to live anymore and am at the end of the road as I've tried everything. So maybe this will help. I don't want to die, but it if this doesn't work, I may just have to put myself out of my misery

      Hey Aris - you can get better, you just need the right resources. Highly recommend contacting one of these physicians here. Some are online - they can help you even if you don't have insurance or aren't in their area. You don't have to live like this but you do need help from a qualified doctor.     So when you have symptoms all the time ,how can you say that any particular food is triggering the vertigo ,I dont have vertigo attacks ,its there always from past 3 years ,not gone for a single second ,no matter what .how to rule out the food intolerance in this case

      You can't. The idea is that you feel better with time and then reintroduce foods. If you're just doing diet and it's not helping you need to revisit your treatment plan with your neurologist. Generally diet is an aid, but it can't always help by itself.

    So are u completely okay now?
    Do we need to be in Meds, supplements and special diet forever to stay okay?
    This "hidden illness" is really making me sad. I am a full-time mom, taking care of my baby, breastfeeding and feeling lightheaded EVERY SINGLE DAY, the whole day. 😢 It's so hard to function. I'm too dizzy to prepare food for myself. I just eat whatever my mom cooks. 😢

      No, you don't. I've weaned off my preventative medication and just need acute treatments when I feel symptoms. I've had two babies so lack of sleep and stress tends to bring back my symptoms. Otherwise I think I would be fine. Usually once they start sleeping I feel a lot better.
