    One data point to underline as part of this conversation is that adding authorized users to the account may also trigger credit line increases over time. With an increase in volume of transactions I've noticed banks are more ready to give out generous credit line increases for that particular account on their own, and on a more regular basis (provided that the primary account holder continues to pay on-time for those extra users as well of course).

    citi bank has a habit of decreasing your line of credit with their cards if you have a large balance with another credit card company regardless of paying hundreds more then the minimum payment per card and even have a large income over 100k USD. this just happened to me with my citi double cash card. I have 100% ontime payments and Zero late payments, Zero collections but a few cards with 80% credit utilization, even though those credit card companies are happy with me because of the large payments I make. apparently I was a high risk 😅. and yes capital One is pretty greedy with their credit card limits lol

      Max out pay before Bill dead line not payment date and your credit score ncrease will probably jump triple in a couple of months depending on what card you have. I had a cap one platinum with $1000 and bought a iPhone and payed it off and they doubled my credit line in the second month. But don’t carry a balance treat the card like a charge card.

    • @ayamaikarim
      @ayamaikarim 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You charged your card today, pay next day, do note that credit bank issuers might allow 4 times only till the statement. Make sure all charges are being paid before the new statement comes out. Don't leave any balance on every card over 10% before the statement comes out.
      The unsecured credit 💳 you have, don't use it to support your life style, it's only to be used to receive cash back or travel points or emergency. Something you can not afford, don't buy with credit card. Being in debt is no fun. Your Credit Score is far more important than credit increase for car loan or mortgage.

      DICOVER, CITI, AMEX AND CHASE HACE NEVER FREELY OFFERED ME A LINE OF CREDIT INCREASE. CITI HAS CUT MY CREDIT LIMIT BECAUSE I I CREASED MY CREDIT UTILISATION FROM 10% to 39% in the past 2 YEARS. FINE BY ME I WILL GO GET FINANCED BY PENFED, FIRST TECH, ANDREWS AND NAVY FEDERAL. FUCK THE BIG BANKS.

    I'll let Chase organically give me increases. If they ignore me after 50k spend, I'll downgrade the card while applying for AMEX Gold or Plat. Just downgrade the stingy card and redirect to a more open, growth oriented one. The downgraded card can be just for cashback.

    About requesting a credit line increase with American Express, can that be done with a Navy Federal American Express card or it can only be done with a card that was given by American Express directly?

    • @ProudMoney
      @ProudMoney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You would request the credit increase from Navy Federal. In that case Amex is just the card processor, not the issuer of the card.

    I just got upgraded from a capital one card with no rewards and no annual fees to a cap one quicksilver with 1.5 cash back, but stated I was going to have the same limit. A year ago I went from in debt 2k with them to current all payments made on time for a year. Is that a good upgrade? I would have rather had a cl increase
