I actually like the steering position... And the gear change is no problem once you have used it for a few days. I drive one all over Europe and to be honest I like the Truck and the 460 is more than up to the Job and running at 40t it makes light work of the Blanc. But like everything in life its Horses for Course's.
Hello Stavros... i just finished my first ever shift with a trailer.. it was.. (major) incident free im pleased to say but i was up late studying by watching your videos. lots of great information, thanks for the content.
Have a 430 C series. Much the same ref the interior light not working and gear selection. Compared to Daf I had it’s a better drive and pulls well. Though sensor wise it does like to light a warning light!
I agree with the comments regarding the steering. I found it impossible to adjust the steering to a comfortable position that didn't block the view of the speedo. Also, there is a place in hell reserved to the designer of the auto gearbox control. It's wholly overly complicated and very difficult to use for a casual driver who does not drive these trucks regularly. In my personal conclusion, even with criticism, it's generally quite a nice piece of kit to use, and i wouldn't refuse to drive one!
Advice: since 2018 choose MAN tgx 470 or 510 ! ZF TipMatic gearbox... 12+2 The Best! or: Actros 1848 - The Best Truck for fuel consumption! End of Story! Like all the big companies do... Culina, Girteka, Kreiss, Xpo, DPD.
If you look at videos where Stavros is looking around other people's trucks (dealer visits and truck shows), you'll notice there's quite a few non 4x2 tractors out there. It's just that they either belong to owner-drivers, or to companies with specializations in things other than inter-city general cargo. Company fleet which *are* specialized in inter-city general cargo are more likely to go all 4x2 for cost reasons, the extra axle costs money, not just to buy but to perform maintenance on, and if you're never going to need the extra weight capacity why bother paying that extra price when you could either spend the money on driver comfort or not spend it at all. It's the same in most of continental Europe. In Sweden, Norway and Finland more companies are willing to pay for the extra axle because it makes a big difference on snowed-over roads, though.
@@anthony1636 This engine is build in France at the Renault plant. Also all smaller engines and the smaller trucks like the Fe and FL are fully Renault trucks with a Volvo badge.
DAF XF 460 Yes! But only 2016-2017 and up to 700k km... because the old model has ZF - AsTronic gearbox... even XF 510 is good, same years only. on Xf 480 and 530 is the new fully automatic transmission and it has a lot of electrical problems... same as Volvo... lot of problems...
Morning Stavros, How are ya fella? What I just cannot get my head around is how come does a Renault truck use a Volvo truck engine & gearbox? Very confused unfortunately lol...Cheers mate, Mickey
Had these since launch they are so close to being a really good product but day to day they are infuriating, drive good but electronics and cab interior design drive me personally to the point I'd not take anymore.
I am planning on buying 3 trucks for my small bussines. With 700-750 k km. But everyone is discouraging me, telling me I will be Russian spy if I buy these etc. Anyone have more expierence?
Fair enough looking truck but gotta say, Volvo engine, Volvo transmission - aren't the French embarrassed? Then again, they've gotta be used to that by now.
I'm sure it's OK to drive but interior is horrendously cheap looking and the steering wheel was designed by stevie wonder. I wouldn't want to spend days at a time in one.
5:00 check the fuse box for those lights.
Yes a new stavros video awsome👍
I have always liked the Renaults, all the way back to the 80's
how do you not have more viewers and subscribers like you have been a consistant youtuber with family friendy content for the last 3 years
Great content as always Stavros 👌

another great demo Stavros, quick question I see a lot of 4 wheel tractors in Ireland are you guys GVW 44TONNES on 4 wheelers
40 metric tonnes GVW on a 4 x 2 tractor with tri axle trailer.
44 tonnes on 3 axle trailer and 3 axle tractor.

Hello Stavros,
Can I ask why Irish tractor units always seem to be 4 x 2 config, are the weight restrictions different over there?

I hope the next ome will be something like a daf xf 105 or a volvo fh12 or fh16 classic
Actually the 11litre engine is build at the Renault plant and therefore a Renault engine. The 13 and 16 litre engines are build in Sweden.
No the 11ltr engine IS a Volvo engine through and through.

Do you know how to set up a memory setting on the suspension?
Set the suspension to where you want and hold the M button for 5 seconds

The best Auto manual gearbox in my opinion is the daf traxxon
When it´s in neutral under braking, it goes from high gear to low gear and making that loud click noise.
Is it ishift gearbox?
Does your company just work in and around Ireland or do you or do you come over to the UK as well
I do think Renault and DAFs stand well

It’s a budget Volvo
Yep but still earns the same amount of money for a much smaller cost....But then I am not a Badge warrior.
Yes,but with a more rigid front bumper, better seats and less fuel consumption.
What would be the most expensive? Am I right in thinking that Mercedes, Scania and Volvo are the premium manufactures?
