@@ИгорьУшаков-е9ф The Beatles have just much less great songs than Manfred Mann's Earth Band. And The Beatles's early songs are primitive rock'n'roll with three-notes on strings and I don't like them, only past songs in Abbey Road.
@PRZEME001 Manfred Mann's Earth Band did so many amazing songs it was hard to choose one for a video....but I do think this one is one of their best. They remain one of the most underrated acts of the 70's. I'm pleasantly surprised that this video continues to be one of the most popular I've uploaded.....the song/band has many more fans than I had imagined......love hearing from other fans. Thank you so much for watching and for the comment!
I owned this album when I was in the Navy, in "A" school in Great Lakes, Ill. Loved it! Used to get high and listen to the whole thing. This was one of my fav's on the album. I think the end of the song lends to the title of the album because, when it ends, you hear the Roaring Silence. Good stuff; thanks for posting this.

I envy you greatly for seeing this band not once, not twice, but numerous times! I agree they are a really fantastic band and wish I'd seen the live myself. Thanks!
Kudo's and APPLAUSE ! This song by Manfred Mann has illicit an emotional response from myself since I first heard it shortly after its release ! Your addition of these old B&W images coupled with the not so distant reality exude RAW EMOTION as if one acts as catalyst for the other , driving it exponentially !
Manfred Mann's Earth Band. What more can you say about the origin and focus of this band? Whether you believe it pagan or whatever, it draws you to the Earth and the living reality of being. As a young teenager I was drawn to progressive music, and I thank the British bands that delved deep into either the classical or experimental (MENTAL EMPHASIZED) to produce, create their music. Good Earth, Solar Fire, Roaring Silence, Watch, and Angel Station, were my favorite albums. I had the privilege to see MMEB Nuremberg Germany in 1978 after the release of Watch. They were set up with a animated type of visual throughout the concert, and I was high (as usual) when I'd listen to their music. I did not really come across the Road to Babylon until I came back home from 3 years of military service, after which I became involved in a relationship with Jesus Christ in the Seventh Day Adventist faith. They are (I believe) the most historic conservative of all Christian churches in the world, and they shared Bible studies on the books of Daniel and the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Since the prophet Daniel was a captive for 70 plus years in Babylon, having lived through the reign of Nebuchadnezzar on to Belshazzar (Nebuchadnezzar's Grandson) into the first years of the Medo Persian Empire, which conquered Babylon, the historical and prophetic information I derived was totally fascinating. This video/MMEB song takes your mind to the sad march of all the remnant people of the Kingdom of Judah, in particular, the Prince Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah (A chief official of the King gave them other names: he gave the name Belteshazzar to Daniel, Shadrach to Hananiah, Meshach to Mishael, and Abednego to Azariah. after the kings Babylonian gods, the purpose of which was to further deprive and erase their faith, and their culture in their new home), who came to prominence in the court of Nebuchadnezzar. Anyhow, with the film footage that splits historical footage from D.W Griffiths silent film Intollerance and the post 9-11 American military conquest of Iraq, I must say this video is EPIC. Thank you whoever produced this, you did a great job.
As a lyrics/message fan, i appreciate that you include the words, words can outlive the music and reach people who are otherwise not interested in the "noise" or willing to listen. this is the story of the golden calf, and the capture of the tribes. Some celebrate Purim, but this message must never be forgotten. Beware the Golden Helmet, There's no easy way to go
i saw them in 1978 in germany and it was one of the best shows i've ever seen and i've seen too many to remember them all. their big commercial hit "blinded by the light" really shows nothing of their true talent and capabilities. thanks for uploading this

I saw the roaring silence concert tour at the tower theatre in Philadelphia. that giant ear with the mouth inside was a backdrop on the stage. I think I was on some hallucinogen because that mouth was the lead singer.
The sisters Doreen and Irene Chanter, and Susanne Lynch provide the soaring vocals on this, and other songs on the album. I would put "The Roaring Silence" up against Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" as equal in music mastery. I have the 1916 movie, "Intolerance", full-length version, on DVD.
