    Hi everyone. I forgot to mention in this video that I fertilize my plants once every two to three weeks. Another huge plus about using pumice is that you will no longer have to worry about accidental overwatering of your plants, which is one of the main reasons why plants die. The roots that develop in pumice are water roots, so you will never have to worry about any overwatering problems.
    Another popular alternative to use is LECA. Personally, I prefer pumice as it holds the plant roots better and it looks more aesthetic pleasing to me. Both LECA and pumice works well, so it is just a matter of personal preference.
    Let me know in the comments what your thoughts are. Enjoy the video!

    Great video and very informative. Do you have any issue with algae growing in the pumice substrate. Also, when, if ever, do you flush out the pumice?

      Yeah I do encounter some issues with algae growth. I discover that it can be prevented by allowing the pumice the completely dry out before watering again. I will be experimenting with hydrogen peroxide to see if it works. Let me know if you have found a method that works for you. Cheers!

    Lovely. Do you add clay ? Or how do you balance the ph ?

    • @cozyoasis
      @cozyoasis  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. I use worm castings and burnt rice husk to neutralise the ph of the soil mix.

    Can you please tell me what are the signs for when I would have to repot the plants in pumice into a bigger pot?

    • @cozyoasis
      @cozyoasis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Shelia. The signs that you need to repot the plants in pumice is very similar those growth in soil.
      Some signs include a sudden slow growth in the plant or when the roots start to grow outside the pot.
      Hope this helps. (:

    Where can I find pumice rocks?

    • @cozyoasis
      @cozyoasis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lily. I get my pumice from local plant nurseries in Singapore. Depending on which part of the world you are at, the prices can vary from cheap to expensive. I am fortunate to be able to purchase a big bag of pumice at SGD$6 (USD$4.30). Hope you will be able to get yours at a good price too. Cheers!
