Probably one of the few major films to truly depict rape as horrible and disturbing as it is in reality; I really had to try to not shut my eyes throughout. So glad it wasn't sugar-coated, too many films present rape as a minor event when it truly is something disgusting and horrifying, and should never be seen as anything else.
I felt sick to my stomach throughout the entire scene. It's one of the very few scenes that still makes my skin crawl to this day and I've seen the movie more times than I can count.
It's really well made, which makes me think: could it be done in today's world? I know we are all against such acts, and the depiction is terrifying, but I cannot stop thinking that the directors wouldn't dare to go that far with the risk of being called out because of it in a negatively manner.
music truly does hold memories. i was listening to the previews of all the tracks to this soundtrack on itunes and knew instantly that this was the music that was playing during the rape.
and it would not be the first time they reworkedsomething from that album and reworked it into a film score...check out ,,familiar taste" (which is fantastic btw) and 35 Ghosts IV
The English remake was better than original. Most importantly b/c it contained more of the material from the book. Second the actors are better. Third the look and sound contribute to the overall ick factor.
I have seen some shit in movies but man.... that was disturbing. Glad it was portrayed as so because it is a disgusting, evil thing to do to a human being.
Disagree. After seeing the English version, I went back and re-read the book. And followed up with viewing Swedish version again. I wanted to make sure I hadn't been swayed by the better soundtrack, cinematography and Daniel Craig. I wasn't. I have bought the Fincher version and will keep that vs. Swedish version.
I was tried for sexual favour I remember..while working in an mnc..years back.. whenever I hear this damn sound..my life flashes in front of my eyes..I had saved myself somehow..but I had faced the repurcussions of my resistance against thirsty lusty douchbags
I disagree; the swedish version contained a lot more storyline and characters from the book and we got to know who Lisbeth's mother was...in the American Version they removed her character from the film. My liking to David Fincher's adaptation is mixed. I love his directing style, and I very much praise the dark tone and riveting performances of the actors--but the Swedish version was very faithful to the novel.
Omg....this scene was awful but very true. Just think of how many people have been victims of this kind of sadicious act. In the words of Lisbeth Salandar, those predators are "sadistic pigs, perverts, and rapists"!
My gender or sexual orientation is completely irrelevant to the subject at hand. I have not said anything about men of different races and their various responsibilities over the issue of rape in modern society. You are assuming quite a bit about my motivations and beliefs. Don't accuse me of racism, man-hating, or being one of those terrible "modern feminists" you seem to dislike so much if you are putting words in my mouth based on what you perceive to be the modern feminist viewpoint.
Misogyny and misanthropy will always exist in society. It isn't fair to make generalizations about a group based on its most radical members. I am assuming by your channel that you are of middle eastern descent. You, more than most, should understand the harmful effects of such thinking. Feminism is defined as "The advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.", not "The idea that women are superior to men". A true feminist abides by the former.
This track is beyond amazing.

Personally I couldn't stop rewatching it

@@luizy6701 I dunno about that. Realistic depictions of traumatic events are still very praised today, just look at The Handmaid's Tale.
So great. Creepy build. Love it. This is one of the best soundtracks i've heard in a while

That sound made at :24 always gives me the chills...
great now i have non-stop chills listening to this... i need to chill...
Music doubles the horror.
Trent Reznor did an Amazing job with the soundtrack.
Don't forget, Atticus Ross also did an amazing job.
@@Ivosferatusnobody cares about that flop
This sounds like something out of Silent Hill. I approve.
this scene was so disturbing but the music makes its just more unbearable to watch it was truly horrific
trent reznor and david fincher
not a better combination out there
glad they stuck together after social network
poor atticus never gets any credit
Zimmer/Nolan
Such a deeply disturbing score, yet so addictive.
this reminds me in some elements of one of the Ghosts track...fantastic!

Hard to sit through that scene.
Still an amazing track
Me encanta este tipo de música...
ominous perfection
@Carefree0101 Me as well!!! This was so well done on her part. I was so mad that she lost a Golden Globe to Meryl Streep. :(
Some dark ass shit right here.

@charonib oh my god... I knew this all sounded familliar...
I would like to play the Hitman games to this music.
Kind of has that HITMAN: Contracts feel to it, now that I think about it. Reminds me of _Invader_ from the OST of that game.
It was actually both.
Those frequencies are making me ill!

god i hated this scene.
@AngusYoungForMayor All of the above.
Every time I hear this I imagine someone getting raped..
