Clockwork is absolutely unique and ethereal, although obviously it’s not classical music the piano reminds me somewhat of Debussy and the whole instrumental with Taemin’s magical voice make it sound dreamy and poetic. This music and lyrics tell the story, listening to it is like reading a book. It’s a very special song for special occasions and mood. And please let’s talk about Taemin’s voice cause it’s really in songs like this where it absolutely shines. He has this unique quality to his voice - it’s like a warm blanket that covers you softly and makes you feel warm and cozy. I just love his vocal tone and how he uses his voice so consciously throughout the song to express all shades of emotions… I hope you’ll react to Sad Kids in the future - it’s another song with gorgeous vocalization. Clockwork is my favourite from the album and one of my favourites from Taemin. The first time I heard it I was addicted. Taemin’s vocals are so beautiful and the percussions gives the song something special. I can listen to this song with my headphones on repeat and never get tired of it. This proves again what an amazing singer he is and sadly it’s overlooked too often.

I enjoyed the second part of your reaction more because I think with these kinds of songs you need to flow with the music more than be analytical. Hope you can listen to it on your own and have a more intuitive experience.
You're right! Taemin's voice is everything in this song. He makes you feel like your heart is broken, his vulnerability is so powerful. Wish he could make more songs that connect with his deepest emotions, because when he does it he is superior ♡

Thank you for this reaction. I really liked Clockwork whether it was the voice, the instrumental and the melody. Taemin almost only has great b-sides. You might also like "Strangers" from the same album, the instrumental is really dark. Sadly, there is no live for Clockwork, which is a shame because I would have loved to hear his voice live during this song.
