@@jakeehwilliams8820 You must be really young. Show me a TCG product that hasn't increased in price after 10+ years? I can show you 10 per every 1 you can show me. Supply and demand.
My favourite series by far! Let’s see the damage today shall we? 😂 Lightning storm was confirmed ages ago for a 25th anniversary reprint in Rarity Collection. Honestly, they really should have made starlights and 25th QCRs look different because they are destroying the market atm. Those Ash Blossom are gonna be pennies too come November :(
They did. QCRs have ultra rare names and a shitty emboss. Clearly the NA branch didn't pass along what was probably the most common complaint in their speed duel survey - no embosses. Also people who play the game don't want things to be expensive and people who don't play the game shouldn't be considered. At one point my main deck was worth 2500. It's at like 600 now. I don't care in the slightest.
Invest in a seal booster box 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection (French Edition) French people love their French cards and french seal products are very rare to find after only a year, much more than english edition, german and so on. And I think its gonna be interesting to invest in something different than the usual American English version
LOLZ on your face when you saw the star on the back of the Fiber Jar...I remember the hell outa that! I've got some sketchy ass cards from TCG Player...Droll for the win!
Recently found alot of my old cards expecting them to be in trash condition but to my surprise they have held up very well! Any advice on grading them?
I buy alot on TCG but only buying Collector's rares Pharaon's rares and cheap cards better the cheaper ( starlights are tho much money for me ) still not sure if the Pharaon's Blue eyes white dragon worth paying 200-240$
Keep investing in your channel man! Love how you are expanding your field with pokemon and the like. I think that will draw in more viewers and broaden your audience.
Honestly the Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare investment was great and I'm glad you pulled out when you did. It makes sense to sell when the cards spike rather than hold them for a year plus.
Invest in booster boxes from what I have seen boosters boxes tend to stay the same or rise in price depending on the rarity in the box and the amount of staples.
I think in 2024 you should invest in meta staples or meta cores which are under 50$. For example if people had invested in rescue ace, which was very cheap on release, they can make quite a decent profit
Nope rescue ace came out this yr so when it gets reprinted it will be worthless similar to so many other decks. Yughio is wait a yr and get the core for cheap. No real investment unless your trying to sell that meta deck that same yr
@EMICIME and it was nothing and now is meta in ocg so like I was saying you would have to buy a deck and sell it the same yr. That's a trade not really a hold investment strategy which is what he was trying to do with the cards
I think it would be really interesting to do an Edison format edition of this. Some would argue Edison prices have already peaked, but I think there's still some room to grow once the YCS starts up again. The Time Wizard side events will carry Edison even further imo.
I don’t think I’ll be investing in TCGPlayer after seeing this! But I do enjoy the site for completing sets I have almost all the cards to. Even though it was a loss, my favorite card you invested in was Gate Guardian, only due to nostalgia. As always, thanks for the content!
Aye we still up! Surprised Twitch chat did slightly better lol I'd say invest in banned cards like Maxxx C for the memes and some staples would be solid but can be destroyed by the tins. Actually also invest into QCRs see how well they do by 2025 and see if they are better or worse than starlights. Maybe they end up being equals in value since konami might never do QCRs after the 25 anniversary event!
I’d like to see investment in cards that are on the banned list. Still a chance knowing Konami they’ll reprint them but it’ll help take out the playability factor
Happy you sold that traptrix card for profit, but would still love to see the price of the card in the video to see if it was still rising or how far it's dipped down since selling it
I can't see any product released this year that will become significant in the coming years. Perhaps the 25th-anniversary box? But it will take some years to get value from it.
Now you knew that Ash was going to go down when they printed it in Structure Decks. I can't give advice on cards. I give certain ones away even if I really want them. I just gave away my only Crimson Dragon and that was the only Duelist Nexus card I wanted.
I think the best investments is all the OCG rarities in the Rarity collection in November. Curious how long those will hold value, seeing as Konami probably won’t repeat such a great set again.
I've heard DDS Blue eyes is the most liquid card in the game right now. It'd be kinda fun to high roll and spend the whole budget on a mp-lp copy and see what happens. But I also know nothing about that side, I'm usually the one hunting for deals LOL
I think the best investments from the video were staple cards that were either overlooked at the time (droll) or ultimate rares (pot of desires, nightbeam, etc). The meta is changing so we might need to see what happens with the current meta decks and if other staples will be played more, but overall I think ultimate rares retain their value, especially ones from OTS packs like triple tactics thrust
How can you say that when it came out this yr not to long ago 🤔 the problem is they reprint destroying value. If you want the most you sell it on release which defeats the purpose of a holder it's just s quick trade and get out
@@jakeehwilliams8820 you can only get ultimate rares from OTS packs, and the next OTS pack is going to be released at the end of this month which will replace the one triple tactics thrust is in. If you look at generic meta cards like forbidden droplet, pot of desires, infinite impermanence in ultimate rare, they hold their price for months before dropping. As for triple tactics thrust, theres no confirmed printings as of yet, which leaves only 2 copies, secret rare in Photon Hypernova, and the Ultimate rare in OTS 22
That's the thing with the card market is it can swing at any point, I've sold cards that have dropped like a hot potato in value not long after and have cards in my collection drop from reprint after reprint
Invest in nothing but quarter century secret rares from 2023 only! (None of next years) and it would be an amazing way to demonstrate to other collectors if they go up or not!
Please invest this year into rarity collection at least 1-2 displays and then do a lil vid or opening next year :) for 2024 id say try investing in promos and lost arts stuff like these !
I will suggest you investing in sealed product instead but if it's just singles then try getting the ultis that could be used on new decks or old decks than could get support later down the line
In 2024 you should invest in the GBA promos, old ghost rares, and ULTI dark magician and blue eyes white dragon. In my opinion Those are undervalued and will go up. love the video!
I would invest in 1st ed psa graded cards such as ghost rares like the rainbow dragon as well as some of the og sets they should be graded instead ungraded but that’s just me. Your worst investment this year has to be number 17 leviathan Dragon. And the best has to be colossal fighter ulti 1st ed
I kinda feel like the quarter century rares will increase in prices starting next year unless they continue making more, also that Number 17 Leviathan Dragon just hurt to look at :(
I'd love to see you invest in the 25th anniversary promos for EVERY card, maybe a playset of the "big" ones like Dark Magician, Exodia, Red-Eyes, etc! They are super amazing-looking and when they aren't as easily available it'll be worth more I bet! :) (Also that 110$ all the way to 33$ hurt ME and I'm just watching :(( I'm sorry for the losses and I hope next year goes better!!
this is why i spend $30 or less on cards n make sure i dont splurge out any chance i get. but ouch the value of cards changing this much should be a reminder to not hold on to stuff, just sell sell sell.
I feel like silent swordsman will continue to get worse. I think most things with LV in the name just tanks constantly. The luck on the traptrix trap holes are unparalleled compare to the rest of it tho. I think picking up some CRs from Tactical Masters & Ancient Guardians might be a good idea.
So, overall, the lesson learned here is don't buy cards for money. Buy cards that you just want to own.
Yup
The lesson learned is, 1 year of holding isn't investing.
You have to hold for 10+ years.

Really interesting observation about the Edison format pushing values. Might need to do that Edison investment actually.
This is a great series! Definitely need to shy away from the meta, and go towards fan favorites... Maybe some Dark Magician cards?
love this series, keep up the good work ruxin!

One of the most epic moments
Investing into time wizard formats makes the most sense since it seems like konami doesnt want to reprint those
This reminds me so much of the stocks we use to pick in high school and track. Some do great others not so much
Recently found alot of my old cards expecting them to be in trash condition but to my surprise they have held up very well!
Any advice on grading them?
The only thing I think will work out with investing is past format cores in highest original rarity

Invest in booster boxes from what I have seen boosters boxes tend to stay the same or rise in price depending on the rarity in the box and the amount of staples.
You should invest in more GX era fusions. Not necessarily 1st Ed or highest rarity.
Rux "hope ash doesn't get a reprint" Konami *reprints ash in the rarity collection* Me "he doesn't know"
Lmao your reactions are hilarious 😂
Lightning Storm tanked because it's getting reprinted as a 25ScR in the Rarity Collection.
This is one of my favourite series on the channel 🔥🔥🔥 i would like to see an investment on the rarity collection and the qcr promos from the tins next
Been waiting for this one. Judging by the thumbnail it doesn’t look good, but these videos are always interesting , sorry for your loss ruxin.
I think you can invest in some sealed product like old box or something like that. Even if the price goes down, you can reuse them in a video
Moral of the story, don’t take investment advice from ruxin 😂

It'll be interesting to see the same list in 5 years
Invest in the Quarter Century packs I think, maybe GFP2? If not, vintage sealed is always a good shout.
