    I was hoping for a more professional production. This was more like buddies who were reenactors that gave a go at making a movie while on vacation one year.

      You got most of it right, we were doing the WWII bit because I had all the gear. None us were actors in any way. Nothing was taken seriously , no plot, to us it was just stupid fun. No Vacation was needed, just a $12 movie program from the best buy bargain bin.

    I was truly amazed. Most low budget, friends and family films are junk. This one is not. I truly watched the film three times trying to understand how they managed the entire works so well.
    On the quality of the upload I offer a 10. On the movie itself, I offer a 10, Hell's bells. I only gave Saving Private Ryan a 10 and 8.
    Well done. Still smiling...even the credits are funny. That leaves me a question who was the voice of Wanda Lee and why was that not in the credits.

      Wanda Lee was a computer voice...so no credit..LOL also The movie budget was only what the SD cards for the cameras cost around $40.00 in all...I already had all the gear...the movie was made just for fun.

    "Don't forget to sign your life insurance." I'm sure lots of soldiers saw those words in their letters.

    You can guess how sorry a movie will be by the number of F words used in the beginning.

      Great James and thanks for your reply...maybe they could have cut it out and re recorded. Enjoyed the movie though and being an "ex" business owner/operator, understand all about budgets. Cheers, Iain.

    Seeing those poor guys freezing their asses off reminds me of the hardships all soldiers endure in combat. The generation which served during WW ll, especially the men who saw action in the bloodiest campaigns, must have done something wrong in a previous life and that was supposed to be their hell. They were so unlucky to be born in the wrong time. Same goes for those who served during the American Civil War and to a lesser extent, WW l, Korea, and Vietnam. The post Vietnam generations are the luckiest because they came along after the draft was abolished and major conventional armed conflicts had become a thing of the past, for the US that is.

      ahhh you say that, but your neglecting quality of life, ever since 1950s quality of materials has gotten worse, food is poisonous, just ask baby food from china that goes all through out america, we have medicine waste in all our river supplies, chemicals are altering people and their babies whether they know it or not from numerous sources from crop spraying in the air and soaked into the food in a way that wont just rinse out, to all sorts of things. Industrialization is affecting all of our qualities of life and making us weaker and more fragile compared to previous generations. We cannot even appreciate what it was like to be alive then because we dont have the memories or experience of clean air and truly clean food and water supplies, we dont know what it feels like to be a prime human being without poisons running through the body from conception to current state.
      I am not a vegan or anything, but I am a realistt and I have to accept that things were better back then before they starting overexposing everything to waste runoff.

    One minor criticism, the uniforms and equipment are far to clean, and when they are out delivering the mail they weren’t moving tactically or even weapons at the ready, and would somebody please give the Sgt a pair of gloves. Others who have commented about Johnson are 100% correct, what a Richard Cranium (or Dick Head for short).
    An excellent film, well made, and to have it in black and white is quite innovative for a modern film, acting is pretty good, sound excellent, costumes and equipment very well provisioned, apart from the Press Guy, he was just comical, perhaps deliberately, and if so it’s a touch of genius.
    P.S it’s no wonder that Johnson got busted down from 1st Sargent, his attitude stinks, now, that’s either good acting or he’s that bolshy in real life, in the military, the real military and especially during combat, his insubordination alone would be grounds for a General Courts Martial, only once during my service did a junior rank speak to me anywhere near as belligerently as Johnson did, and that Cpl was luck to keep his stripes, let alone the arse kicking I would have given him, but I was proud of my 3 stripes (and the pay) and was not going to loose them because of some jumped up pip-squeak Cpl. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

      Thanks very much for the overview. Yes the press guy like the film was just for fun and the uniforms actually were very naturally soiled and smelly all original WWII era U.S. gear.

      James Phipps, your welcome, I enjoyed your film immensely, but going back to the uniforms, I assumed they were genuine, they really looked the part, but at the start they looked too clean, even the webbing looked to new, but it wasn’t meant as a derogatory comment just a minor observation. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

    I give a lot of these on YT a try, and some win, some lose. Sometimes the details really get in the way - like here. First of all these "actors," lotta cussing but I think in real life none of them mouth these words. But worse... for WWII soldiers... they ALL look OLD. Hey, in real life they are relatively young, and nice to try creating things like this... but for the purposes of a WWII movie, sorry, it just seems unbelieveable. And... they should get the starch out of the uniforms... I survived 12 minutes, and wouldn't spare anymore to figure out the nuggets that might be in there. Off-putting. PS - I watch quite a Russian-made WWII movies and some series, and even though I don't understand a damn thing, they are most often light years ahead of American film-making.

      @James_Phipps  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Boy oh boy, you put more time and effort into this comment than I put in to the entire script and filming of this little gag movie that was made just for fun. The uniforms were almost 70 years old and nasty so....sorry they looked new. The actors were indeed old because we were the only actors willing to kill time like this just for a gag...lol
