Thank you, thank you so much for this video. I would have never ever figured out how to get that bottom off. You saved me hours of frustration and tears. You saved my sanity :)
Yes thank you for showing how to remove the bottom of this machine. Is there a way to remove the top and is that something I would want to do? THANK YOU Sir
Please sir. I realize it's been awhile since you made this video. I'm having problems with my reverse button. It doesn't work anymore. I have the same machine. Do have any insight on how to fix this problem. Thanks
Phair Plaigh Unplug, then open the bottom, then press your reverse button. It is easy to see where it’s not making a connection. Old grease gets hard. Use a hair dryer to soften up the old grease while still pressing reverse button, then remove the old grease, then oil. Should work!
We paid $299 new for ours at Sears in November 1987. We also no longer have reverse. We were able to work around that, but now the bobbin timing is off.
i no longer have that machine to refer to. If it is stitching in reverse, i would check the linkage or connection between the reverse switch and the bottom shaft.
@@tommixwilkes2640 thanks...for reply.....tiny metal part was stuck in part which was not allow machine to go forward...now it is cleaned working properly...

Thank you so much for this video. We are attempting our own repairs, since our local repair shop wants an obscene amount to do them.
Thank you - very nice instructional!

I own 2 Kenmore sewing machines. A 22 stitch & a 30 stich & neither go in reverse anymore. Absolutely no idea why.

I have this machine and I bought it in 1990, but I know they had the same model in 1989 as well.
