Superb gita maa....we cal it as goddu saaru...my mom in law prepares it and we all love it.....hot rice and this rasam combination is like 'dil kush hogaya'
Love this Rasam...It's so simple to make but such a feel-good one to have on a busy, tired day....we call it 'Good Rasam' at home instead of Gottu Rasam 😀😀
Hello Gitaji, I watch your recipes quite often. I have a query. Is there any particular reason to use the raw hing/asafoetida in any recipe? Usually it is added in the tempering.
It is just a matter of what one is used to. Earlier we used to get solid Hing which had to be broken and dissolved in water and added, maybe that is the reason
We name it as goddu saru but why u r addina to or daal as it is? I tried other recipe's gooseberry or nellikai pickle is very tasty one thank u very much maa

Gita ji, nowadays you are becoming too thin. What is the reason? Actually I want to know about the diet. I am almost same to your age. I am having Thyroid and undergone Angioplasty last year. I am same to your height. I am taking regular medicines. My weight has increased to 10 kg comparative to last year. Please let me know how you maintain your health and what diet I have to eat to reduce wt. Please reply.
Dear Vijiji, at our age we have to take extra care to remain healthy. In your case please consult your doctor as at times weight gain could even possibly be due to the side effects of some medicines.I don't follow any particular diet except that I go for regular walks(now that has also reduced due to back pain!) Also try shifting to hand pounded rice, I feel it definitely makes difference.I totally avoid sugar in coffee and tea. Eat your night meal by 7 pm and keep it very light.A simple measure is to increase your water intake. Earlier I was not taking much water, but now I make a conscious effort to drink at least 1 l water daily.
