I agree with the concept of "If you don't have the skills, Go for the feels". I use (or have used) a different approach. Instead of trying to impress, focus on creating a fun, interactive experience for people at the party/event/gathering. So two things I have used: 1: Know some music that two people can play together. Simple would be Heart & Soul, and maybe Canon in D. Some basic jazz/blues improv. "I'll play the left hand, you play the right hand, and then we can switch." Literally create music together. 2: Know a few songs that people young and old like to sing. You never know who will show up. There could be a group of bored kids. So if you're able to entertain some bored kids for a few minutes with Old McDonald type songs, the other attendees (and hopefully your crush) will recognize and appreciate it. For older crowds, there are common songs that people request at piano bars. The 1-5-6-4 chord progression can go a long way to creating a fun experience. Also, Christmas just passed, but knowing a few holiday or seasonal songs can come in handy. If you attend a religious service, learn to play some of those songs.
"Ride of the Valkyries" while intensely gazing at your crush with a teethy smile. If she asks what you're playing... in your best German accent you say "Ziss ist mine faaaave composer Vaaaagner!" Guaranteed to charm your crush!
Another pro tip is to use DEEP notes. Low notes sound powerful and impressive with very little effort. Like even a simple octave sounds impactful. Use deeper notes and your piece automatically sounds more impressive
I would play novule bianche, that thing is a masterpiece, actually learning all the songs from luduvico will do you great, really easy to learn it took me about a week to start playing novule on a keyboard without any prior experience, than I also played it on the piano

He’s so funny, and he is having such a great time. I am just like that. I laugh at my own jokes and can’t even finish the punchline because I’m laughing too hard and everybody else is getting frustrated.😂😂😂
Even the pieces of music you recommend and depending on what level of a beginner, Many of those you played would take a true beginner allot of practice to play and show emotion on the keyboard to. The easier pieces would recommend in the Key of C, no flats or sharps, or have very few. Make the chords in the left hand easy with some variations to those chords. What makes emotional songs sound better is if you can do slow arpeggios with left or both hands and the melody. Again, it would still take some practice to play in front of anyone at a party, even your crush. Great video and take care.
@@heyitzblaster9262 Yes, but in his video he mentioned a true beginner that didnt know anything. No way can a so called "True beginner" even play his examples without practice and some theory as you mention. That is what my original comment is referring to.

any Ludovico Einaudi pieces (Nuvole Bianche, Experience, Una Mattina,... )
Yann Tiersen- Comptine d'un autre été -l'après (Amélie Poulain)
Yann Tiersen- La Valse d'Amélie
Mariage d'amour
