  • It took Jennifer 10 years before getting a correct diagnosis at Winship. She is grateful for the compassionate people who cared for her during and after her treatment. Today, Jennifer thinks of her Winship medical team when she teaches science to her kindergarten classes.
As with all treatments, individual patient results vary. It is important to discuss your cancer treatment options with your physician.

Does anymore have suggestions on what to eat, my nieces dad is sever pain, can't swallow, can't hardly talk(although he did take good, so has feeding tube in, but anytime he adds food or water he vomits, everything stings his tounge. They have not done any skin grafts yet for his tounge. But he losing so much weight. He hates having to eat soup. But I just wanted ideas that don't catse burning to the tounge, also in the begging dishes can you say hour much pain relief you were on? Catse they only have him taking 7.5 hydro for this and 50mg fetnayl patch that's changed every 3 days. He takes 2 pills at times and it still don't really take the pain down.

The first time I had tongue cancer was also right after I had my son back in 1992. At that time I only needed a partial glossectomy, the following year a radical neck dissection. In 2020 the cancer came back and that’s when I got my flap from my forearm. It’s amazing what can be done!

I'm watching you from Thailand. My mom has a tongue cancer. But the doctor just gave her a 5 times chemo therapy. And 33 Rediotion. She's finished for all process therapy since December 21, 2022. Now I am waiting to see and meet doctor every 3 month. She is really suffering and of course painful. As a son I suppose my mom every single way as I could make my mom happier. At least less-painful.

Today, my dad passed away from tongue cancer. His drs said it was an incredibly aggressive cancer. He was diagnosed exactly a year ago. He also went to the dentist when he noticed a spot on guns tongue, but the dentist said maybe you just bite yourself too much. I really wish that dr had not given that answer, maybe my dad would still be here today. Rip papi, we all miss you so much already.

My wife didn't finish her radiation she had 17 treatments and became suicidal. She drinks lots of water and there are mouth washes you can buy at the chemist for dry mouth. Its been 2 months since her radiation she still has trouble eating, doctors keep saying at least 6 months before things go back to normal but depending what side of your mouth received the radiation, that salivary gland never comes back.
