New information from Deb, Apparently, the mausoleum contained 4 burials, with only that one inner lead lining remaining. The 2 slabs mounted on the front of the tower were originally slabs over graves and are from the 8th Century.
I hope you both got home safely and that you both came to no harm in the terrible storm that hit Ireland on 24th January. Another excellent video. God bless you both.
I am from Germany and my Wife is from Sweden. We live in Pennsyalvina. Sour Central part of the state. We enjoy your channel and had Benn watching for several years now. Got work
Wouldn't you love to be able to see in the past how they built those structures? I can't imagine how hard they had to work to layer all those stones. Remarkable!
Beautiful old graveyard. The mausoleum was very interesting. The Grotto is beautiful. Great video, thank you very much for sharing this Sue and GV. Did you get thru the storm Ok?
Hi Sue , loved the peek in the old vault , 8th century wow . loved the old tower and beautiful graveyard .bless you both for braving that cold weather , hope you got home warm and safe , my apologies for watching this late ive been on night shift the past week ❤
Lovely video but too cold. Dont worry about long videos ever if driving could be difficult. Yes the frost looked nice and even in phoenix az usa we have nights near 32. I never go out then and later in the afternoon is the warmest. Love that i found your channel
That beautiful crypt with all the green growing inside looks like an old Charnel house. Wondering if it was for the monks of the abbey? At any rate, it was a beautiful visit. Stay warm, Sue! It is negative -1 deg (59F to you) here at 5:30 am. I've been up checking on my chickens and stoking the fires. It was ever so nice to come in and find this video to watch while I have an Irish coffee and attempt to rewarm. Hope you two got home safely. Be blessed and be well in all things.
Did you notice on the right under the moss and such were even more bones? about 7:00 Not sure if that's what Sue was talking about or not. Fascinating!
Beautiful cemetery and church. That old i can tell the how some of the stone work placed piece at a time to fit but the tower is gorgeous. Don't get caught in the snow. To dangerous 😳. We have have had snow and so sk cold .Below 🥶 0 Fahrenheit. I don't know how to compare to your temps.be careful and thanx for for a great video.❤😊❤😊
Is the tower where the bells were? Thank you for traveling so far. Wow, 4 hrs. Beautiful area. Stay safe you two. Great job Sue ❤ get some coffee and have a safe drive home.☃️☃️☃️☃️
Hi Sue I'm a new subscriber wow what a place indeed just beautiful thank you for the insight. It's outstanding. I will see you in the next one. Senging hugs from the UK x 🌹🌹🌹
Hi Sue, It looks like it was a mausoleum. Such a sin to see that nice bench rotting away by the weather. Thanks for taking us along. Stay warm, sorry it was so cold for you there. Be safe going back home. I enjoyed the video. I appreciate the fact that as cold as it was you still took us along. Be careful driving back. Looking forward to your next post.
Wow, such a beautiful ancient graveyard. Yeah I'd say it's a mausoleum. The Grotto is stunning too. I hope you return there when the weather is better and safer to show us more, it truly is a magnificent place. LOVE it. Be safe and warm. Thank you so much Sue ~ 🇦🇺❤Teresa xx
That does look cold. Adds to the magic tho. Another beauty. Interesting it was in use recently enough to have electricity. But so sad to see it not in use now. Fascinating to see the vault in the walls. Wonder if they were local nobles? Or monks? A shame we prob will never know. We've been lucky in my part of Wales, we've not had the winter most have had. In fact I'm more worrying about water being off grid and relying on a 1/4 full tank of rainwater ATM. Odd isn't it? Thanks sue and gv. Another fab visit.

We just had 5 1/2 " of snow, which is historic for southeast Texas. *(13.97 cm). It shuts us down as of today. Nobody goes nowhere. ❤ So, I believe the lead coffin on top was a baby. The size fit in the middle, and the back had no moss growing ❤
Hi Sue! Beautiful old abbey!! Looks so cold there. It has been frosty here in the mountains of Arizona and windy. I don't venture out when it is like this. I don't mind short videos because your health is too important, Sue. Be careful and stay safe and thanks so much for sharing!
@@SerenitySueGraveyards I am so glad you both got home safely. Thank you Sue. It is an older picture of me back in 2010. I had lighter hair. My hair is more of a reddish/blonde. I was a lot thinner too, lol.
Beautiful cemetery and beautiful surroundings. There were a lot of bones in that vault. I think it could have been an ossuary at one time. Most all old cemeteries have one. Even in my small town, our oldest cemetery has one, even though it isn't used anymore. The stones and the grotto are beautiful Doesn't the symbol of a fish refer to Christ? Maybe because of the story of Jesus feeding the people? I'm not sure. Thank you for the tour, Sue. I understand you want to get back home before the nasty weather starts. Be careful of black ice. Be safe you two.
Hi Sue, I don't blame you for not wanting to drive in the snow 🙂 I don't drive in the snow either. It seems like all of the bell towers here have cell phone antennas on them. Stay safe.
Thank you for bringing us here to Ireland to that absolutely beautiful and amazing place. To be able to see things from so many centuries ago and still be intact and beautiful. ❤❤
Great videos as always and I love that you travel all over.
